If you guys are fighting fans at all make sure to get Dizzy for Guilty Gear, she's free for a limited time, even if you don't have the game (like me) you can still get her from PS Store so if you eventually buy it, you can use her~

Oh nice haha epic, yea I watched a few highlights on youtube, my fav game to watch was probably Pokken since I actually understood all the mechanics of that game

Oh ok, my bad I never experienced it either, just something I read on the net lol :derp:

Yeah I was surprised it worked too haha, thank god it did too, tried like 5 times before hand to try and beat it  :rlytearpls:  that second phase can really eff you up. Now we start getting some dual attacks which is cool~

Just go for the easiest songs and you should get it eventually, I don't remember it being that hard and make sure in settings to set it to the fastest beat, it's actually easier to not mess up I find then the slower beat

Haha well it all depends , don't FORCE yourself to play games if you don't feel like it, it should be a hobby, not a chore  but yeah having a set goal each day makes it easier to keep track imo

The issue with being a fighting game fan is that a majority of the games are PS exclusives so the rest of us who don't have it can't get it  :rlytearpls:

Persona 5 looks stylish af omg, don't wanna spoil too much of the game to myself but damn it's looking good

Yeah fair enough, but tbh I feel like Gravity Rush artstyle is too nice to NOT make it into an animated form of some kind and hopefully it brings in a larger audience for this underrated game :rlytearpls: You can always just read an online summary or something I guess if you don't wanna watch the anime, that's probably what I'll do for Danganronpa~

Yeah true, seems this gen most of the fighting games on on PS especially Japanese ones

I should've gotten a PS4. I suddenly regret getting an Xbox One  :rlytearpls:

You can always wait for the Neo and sell your X1 then to compensate somewhat but by the value probably would've dropped anyway since the new XB is coming out soon too

It's not that serious

Like I like it and all but there's a lot of games I want that I can't play... Maybe next year I can get a PS4 so I can get all the games I want

Oh nice, did you watch EVO?

But yeah I'm probably not gonna get SFV either, as a casual fighting fan, the lack of single player content really disappointed me :._.: Have you tried the KoF demo yet? I found it okay, graphics are obviously not as good as current fighters but gameplay isn't too bad.

And yeah PS4's internet is crappy af, even my VIta downloads stuff faster smh :imstupid:

Is it really that bad? I know with my XBO it's okay but one time I played against someone in MKX with connection bad to the point the match disconnected.

Sonic Mania was revealed

Tbh even though I completely understand why they went for retro graphics, I wish they had a 'HD' option or something, never really liked the classic sonic look and it hasn't really aged well imo compared to something like Mario

Well I don't really play too much fighting games online but based on when I download stuff, yeah it can sometimes get randomly slow, so I have to put it in rest mode to make it download faster. When I played Dark Souls 3 online it was okay though but obviously that is much different then playing fighting games online, it's a known issue, something to do with an outdated chip or something, hopefully Neo fixes it~

Okay damn the Krypt in MKX is basically another whole mini game by itself lmao, reminds me of Etrian Odyssey type dungeon crawling but really imaginative, damn this game has so much kontent, there's literally 100 characters if you count all the different variations of each character lol :rlytearpls: I dunno why i didn't pick it up earlier, perfect for fighting noobs like me

Yeah everyone says Awakening had a better story then Fates but honestly my unpopular opinion is that I like Fates better, can't even remember much from Awakening beyond

all that time travel stuff and Robin being the dragon sent to kill Chrom

and honestly the characters are more memorable and better in Fates imo, I thought Lucina was meh don't kill me :rlytearpls:

But yeah I agree they could've made Corrin's reasoning for doing stuff better, it would've MORE interesting imo if they actually had Corrin be an actual bad guy in Conquest so you could legitimately choose between good and evil  :ohpressor:  but this is Nintendo I guess

Gameplay in Fates is definitely waaay better then Awakening and more balanced too, children aren't that OP and pre-promoted characters don't suck ass compared to if you promoted your base classes (Gunter being the exception though  :imstupid: ) And the dual system makes for better strategies then just pairing up everyone in Awakening. Once you play Revelations, more story background will become more clear~

It took me like 20 minutes to unlock all the areas in the krypt.. The game's fun and there's a lot to choose from.

I made Anna my first Witch but then I just made everyone who was a Sorcerer a Witch since it just gives better MAG and SPD

Oh cool, which variation do you use?

Yeah if you had PS+, it was free this month~

Btw since you've played both Disgaea and Fire Emblem series, which do you think is better? I know they're quite different gameplay wise but up until Fates, I would say Disgaea was a clear winner for me but damn Fates gameplay is such a step up it's close for me now  :rlytearpls:  Story and character wise I think I still prefer the more comedic stylings of Disgaea though  But as a SRPG I think FE might be better since it's more strategy involved and you have to think more closely about every move while Disgaea is more 'open' and you can cancel your movement and whatnot to really exploit it plus all those over the top AOE attacks isn't the most balanced thing  In terms of content, it's obvious who the winner is though :dave:

I mostly use Royal Storm and Assassin(Mournful's a little more difficult to master imo)

Yeah same lol, the only thing I really dislike about the game is you have to play the shitty mobile app to unlock some of the skins smh  :omgwtf: I could barely be bothered getting Mileena Klassic one but level 40 for Kinana's one? Stuff that, it's just a tap fest lmao :wth:

All I did was ask someone for their ID and I got all the skins. I'm too lazy to do all of that(especially for Scorpion's injustice costume)  :derp:

Ah lucky :rlytearpls: And I just finished story mode...

Not bad overall, I do think MK9 had a better story but this one focuses more on the new generation so it's understandable. sad that Scorpion kill Quan Chi, now the revenants can never be saved  And Raiden turning corrupted at the end was a nice twist even though I don't really understand how that happen since he was still barely alive at the end of the story :derp: I didn't like how they had so many story mode characters that aren't playable though :._.:

And I just realized your dp is Mileena haha :derp:

That's the one thing about Scorpion killing Quan Chi that made me disappointed:None of the revenants can be revived(I want Sindel gdi  ). The story mode in this game was a bit weaker because it was mostly new characters beating the veterans(aside from Sub Zero)... I think because the series was rebooted it'll probably have the story line of Deception next game because of Raiden getting corrupted again. I think it has to do with the fact that he had to get the Jinsei chamber purified again.

Yeah I need to change my DP and sig soon

Just finished TMS#FE, overall ok, tbh though it felt too long even though my save file only says 51 hours

lol yaas, when the FE theme came on, I was like  :lub:  :lub:  :lub: Some of the Jpop songs in the game are actually not bad which isn't surprising since some of them are sung by actual Jpop artists lol

Ahh ok, actually MK9 and 10 are the only MKs I've played lol but I know MK9 was a reboot and yeah I'm surprised they didn't made Sindel playable too :._.:

You need to play the others. :o But I guess the good thing about this game is that Shao Kahn's not in it.

Omg, I went to my local arcade and they had 2 new freaking Tekken 7 machines :rlytearpls:

uEt82Hs.jpg

Arcade mode only had like 5 matches though so short :._.:

Now I'm really sad SFV didn't have an arcade release, we might have gotten that too  There were still people playing the SFIV one~

Lucky. Why do I have to be in the US where arcades are dead

I bought that game a couple of days ago!... well actually it was on my steam account forever, but I started playing it a couple of days ago and it's so gooood, the art is great though I already knew that but actually seeing it in motion is so good, I didn't watch any videos of it or anything cause I knew I was going to play it, the music is great, the gameplay is great, I just saved it today and I'm 50% through and just entered the

wind valley, whatever it's called

I had it since Christmas but I sort of stopped for a little while(can't remember why). Recently I went back to it and I had just unlocked Valley of the Wind but I'm trying to complete a few more areas

  • 2 weeks later...

The problem with FFXV and Square in general is that Square is stupid and likes to announce things way too early. The FF13 team was supposed to move on and work on FF Versus 13 (XV) after they were done. And they were supposed to move onto KH3 after that. Everything became a mess and projects stalled and were put on hold when they were forced to make unnecessary 13 sequels to make up for all the money they loss because of 13 (and maybe 14 also).

This is why FFXV and KH3 seems like they are taking forever. It's their fault for announcing it before the previous games were even finished. FFXV and KH3 both literally had only cg trailers for a long time. It gave people hope of the game coming out soon when they were not even games yet, they were just trailers. Nomura was in charge of both of these games before Tabata took charge of FFXV. No idea why they thought it was a good idea to announce KH3 before Nomura was even done with FFXV.

Nomura is also the director of the FF7 Remake. So Square is making the same mistake by announcing FF7 before KH3 is even close to being finished. Both of them being directed by the same guy slowing down production of both games again just like before. They've switched over to using the Unreal Engine though which supposedly makes game development easier and faster but it's still Square making the same mistake all over again with FF7 Remake.

I'm sorry my response wasn't meant to be that long lol. But as a long time fan of Square games, they are so frustrating now.

edit:

To add a bit of new news, the $270 bundle for FFXV will not include the season pass. They're just the best

:omg:  :omg:  :omg:  :omg:

Let's be real here. Mai's DOA model looks so good in comparison to her current KOF model. And this is a 4 year old game already. Not to mention her moves seemed to have translated well into the game, at least animation wise. I'm definitely gonna dl this when it comes out.

Unfortunately the KOF costume pack is a no for me. Because based of the info I found out, yet again TN feels the need to pander to its selective Japanese audience by giving 3 costumes to 6 characters only for this pack.  Two of which I don't care for, two that I barely play anymore, and the last two I fucking despise.

And even worse a number of them are just recolors. Wow such a lost opportunity by TN, they could give a number of KOF outfits to more DOA characters. So continues my love/hate relationship with TN.

Same for me. Plus the DLC in this game is absolutely insane. I'll get Mai though whenever I get the full game(hopefully soon).

I was sort of wishing TN would've given characters costumes that were more creative to KOF. These just look lazy.  :._.:

Oh yeah I hated Seth too in SFIV and I don't think it was that bad since it just against Bison but still pretty bad since you can't change the difficulty so you have to beat him right there and he starts with full meter on both V trigger and EX  :soul:

Yeah the new mechanic got some getting used to but I like it, gives a nice spin on the usual mechanics.

Well depends on what genre you like but I recommand Soul Sacrifice Delta if you like action RPGish games with great lore, Disgaea 4 if you like SRPGs and a great/funny story and characters, both Danganronpa if you like visual novel type games like similar to Ace Attorney but a bit darker and DJ Max Technika if you like touch based rhythm games with korean songs  :ohbi:

I hated Seth for the life of me but I feel like Gill from 3rd strike was worse

Tbh I don't really care for the social links in Persona 3/4, I'll do some just to pass the time in the day sure but I never bother trying max them out or anything, I just don't find most of them that engaging maybe cuz it's only ever between the MC and that person and MC is pretty much devoid of any personality really.

I much prefer how they did it in Persona Q where they had the whole cast interact with each other over different subjects which was much more engaging imo since you see so many different personailities clash with each other which made for some interesting and hilarious moments

Never played 3rd Strike but yeah most fighting bosses are cheap af, I remember Shao Kahn in MK9 was soo annoying since you can't stun him, or grab and he takes less damage  :donthinkso:

Don't even get me started on Shao Kahn. He was always a pain

If we're talking about fighting game bosses I-no in Guilty Gear XX was the death of me, especially since I wanted to get all the endings for all the characters and the only way to get one of Dizzy's endings was to beat her on the first try at least in #Reload, I never did manage to get that ending. Gil in SF3 was insane too, I don't think I ever beat him, but I don't have that game anymore ={

As for Shao Khan I got his boss battle down to a science, he was so tough, but after a while I managed to cheese that fight real easy., I even beat the 300 level tower thing, I remember one match where you had to fight three Shao Khans as Stryker, that almost broke me, but then I think all I did was jump behind him and uppercut, and then jump behind him and uppercut lol and that won me the game.

Guilty Gear is probably the one fighting game I haven't gotten my hands on yet  :rlytearpls:
