Did you play Devil Kings/Samurai Heroes or did you stick to the Japanese releases? And Sengoku Basara 4's trailer is already out 

 

Earthbound is getting a surprise release on the Wii U Virtual Console today, according to the new Nintendo Direct. Anybody else planning on trying it out to see what it's like?

I can't decide if that game's worth it. I'm not really interested in the story/gameplay anymore, but I may try it just because I like Diao Chan's new outfit (it's on par with the last installment) and am SOOOO glad Zhen Ji finally has her flute back. I was so annoyed when my two favorite characters became clones of one another LOL

 

But seriously, this outfit is so good:

I wish videogame characters would go back to wearing crazy outfits like this. She needs this outfit for the next game:

 

Zhen Ji's outfit is significantly worse than it was last game, though.

Not only do you guys have awfully overpriced games (although this may have changed since I was last there?) a formerly messed up age-rating system (grats on the new one!), but you also seem to get as bad a deal if not worse than us Europeans with release dates T_T.

Only thing I'm not too happy about is Da Qiao now looking more like Himiko from Warriors Orochi at times. 'Tis just from some angles (mostly the face and hair), but still ;A;.

Ugh, Bayonetta 2 makes me want a Wii U T__T. Curse my lack of spare money.

I will never understand that. If I could get away with wearing something that crazy/sexy, I'd be doing it all the time. It's not as fun dressing up as a boy because we all just wear tuxes/suits, just with minor color changes LOL

I'm a SSX player. Had to suffer through when they decided to give her a bow like wtf, its an action game, no need to be literature accurate lol but she's back to her wheels thankfully.

 

Wish I could play 8.

NintendoLand looks like so much fun. I bought the Wii U deluxe from my brother's friend and I'm missing that game. I really hope they sell it individually.

 

I think Super Paper Mario is actually kind of lame as a game. It just doesn't feel like a finished experience. I'm disappointed because I LOVED the first game.

 

I just got back from Walmart and I thought I bought a Wii U games point card, but it turns out it was just a Wii one. Now I'm stuck without Earthbound and have to pick some random game from the Wii Shop channel LOL

 

AHHHH!! IT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL!

 

I hear a lot of good things about NintendoLand, but IDK CBA to play

 

And I do like it, but yeah Super Paper Mario is a weak game esp compared to the other games in the series, did you play the thousand year door? That was def my favourite of the series~

Index is going to auction off their assets. I am worried about the future of Atlus. I hope whoever buys them doesn't try to change them. I see comments saying what-ifs for if Nintendo or Sony buys them. 

 

I wonder if it's possible for NIS and Atlus to join. I doubt NIS has enough money.

Ooh Bit.Trip Beat if you like Rhythm games, it's fun and it's cheap

It's only supposed to have like 3 levels, but it's such a challenging game I've never actually been OTL

 

Mario Legend of The Seven Stars if you like RPGs

Super Smash Bros if you like SSB Games

Ninja Gaiden if ur a fan of impossibly hard games

Ace Attourney if you don't already have it on your DS

Megaman 9 if you like Megaman

 

And there are also classics, like Legend of Zelda OoT, Mario 64 etc.

Wow I'm surprised by the amount of people that play DW in here. Hi guys   I'm Shu biased lol. I like playing as Zhuge Liang & Xing Cai.

I like how they do it in DW8, her wheels are her main weapon with ex attacks but you can switch to another weapon at will for people who want the bow (or something else) and some special moves use a bow as well.

 

She's always been a quick character, could take some people offguard and really punish if you weren't good at timing or blocking at harder difficulties. I love her speed.

i can't get into the Warriors games. They're just really boring and repetitive to me. Though the gundam fan in me wants to try one of the gundam ones.

Earthbound is fun! The only complaint I have with it right now is that there isn't any info for items in the shop unless you buy them, so you're pretty much blind, if you buy a weapon/some armour you can tell if it's stronger than your current weapon, but you don't know how much stronger until you buy and try to equip it and I don't even know how you can tell with healing items.

 

But even that's not so bad cause the most expensive thing is obv the best~

I think I'll skip on this since I still have the game on Xbox. While it does seemed to be upscale a bit in graphics, I was hoping more for change of updated models.

 

Question is will they still have the features characters like Spawn and Link, not just Heihachi.

Earthbound's one of my favorite games. It's not necessary to have a guide, although they did include a free one with all north american purchases. I think you can actually ruin parts of the game for yourself if you use a guide. There are certain parts where it's better to have no idea what the frack is going on.

 

The inventory+menu system is Earthbound is really clunky and dated, but it has one of the best features in any RPG ever that for some reason more developers do not copy...when you run into an enemy that, if you actually battled, there would be no conceivable way to lose even with the worst strategy ever, the game just says "you win" and skips the battle and gives you the exp+rewards. all of this is just a footnote to what makes the game really good though: the atmosphere and writing.

 

super paper mario I remember not finishing, although I thought thousand year door was worth playing through. Legend of the seven stars was better though.

first of all Atlus is a small company. They are not raking in as much money as you're probably thinking, but they are profitable. It's Index, their parent company, that's doing badly and filed for bankruptcy. 

 

It's probably why there's been so much Atlus stuff over the last few years with all the remakes, ports, anime adaptations, etc. Index probably wanted to use the Atlus name to try to make as much money as they could to get out of debt. Just me assuming though, that could have been all Atlus' idea.
