This trailer made me go bald

I keep going back to rewatch it send help

We only need to wait 6 more weeks. 6 more weeks until the game releases and we all get our mind blown by Nomura, considering what he is known for from the previous installments. Edited by Salieri

I fangirled so much at that Dragon Age 4 reveal at the Game Awards 2018, I'm so goddamn happy. It's been 3 years I've finished playing Dragon Age: Inquisition but just hearing Solas' voice again made me sink deep into the Solavellan hole again, fuck that egg, in all senses possible. So since I'm bored of RDR2 (can't bring myself to go back to it after a month break now), and Assassin's Creed Odyssey's DLC are slow to come to me and shortly done, I might as well go back to DA:I for one more playthrough in preparation of DA4. (or just go back to my Witcher 3 playthrough ugh).

Know this is late but I just finished Shadow of the tomb raider and my gosh it was one rollercoaster of emotions. She's my faviourte all itme heroine for a reason and the game did her character so well..

Spoilers

I loved how they captured her breaking down and being so vulnerable to emotions which was so reltable, after seeing everything she went through it just hit my heart when she was just lost and emotionally destoryed and losing all hope during the end game part only to pick back up when Jonah came to her side.

Love the whole reboot but got to say this installment is the best .

It honestly was so good to see Lara losing it and just snapping hard like that. As a women gamer, it's not often you get to see a female heroine who is allowed to be just pure unadulterated rage, anger and despair and act on it (and not just be passive about it), and it felt so motherfucking good to see her bad side. I found that exhilarating and absolutely enjoyable, liberating even. I hope more narrative designers & scenarists take notice, because it was tastefully and masterfully done indeed.

I've been skipping a lot of new releases until later because:

A) I can't afford them.
B) The games more often than not nowadays are broken at release.

C) Chock full of micro transactions and all that shit which are a no go for me.

Well brace yourself because we're definitely entering an age of "game as a service" and you'll get more and more of that in triple A games, for sure. If you wanna avoid it, you can always give your attention to Indie games and double A games instead.

Honestly the games with necessary microtransactions nowadays are mediocre games anyway, the great ones thankfully just add DLC or bundles with all extra content (unless you have in mind investing in the online modes full of microtransactions)

The most notable recent example being AC with its $10 transaction to fix the grind lmao Ubisoft and EA really are greedy legends

I never ever paid for any micro-transactions ever in an AC game. Best I've done is buying season passes for Origins & Odyssey, and I've never had any problem reaching top levels way before the end of the game, the game definitely offers plenty of ways to gain XP, way more than is needed to reach the highest level. That been said, I love doing side quests and exploring everything (cause I'm a completionist), but trust me, you have more than enough XP by exploring the world only, people who complain just wanna do the main story quest which is roughly 50% of what the game has to offer, I'm not sure I relate to their complaints, I ain't paying a game 60 bucks just to do the main quest only tbh.

I've given up on season passes at this point, very few really deliver anything decent...

So, are we talking about Micro DLC now? Lol. I’m honestly not trying to pay attention to any of the microtransactions in Black Ops 4 atm. The new specialist that’ll be available is something I’m going to try out anyway lol. Activision is always scheming ways to empty our wallets.

Depends if I really loved the base game or not.

I will have no problem getting a season pass for God Of War should they release new DLCs (I don't think they will though). I had no problem getting a season pass for Dragon Age: Inquisition, because Trespasser was honestly pretty damn great (and a pretty damn important DLC to get the true DA:I ending and to get some context and keys to understand what we'll do in DA4). Same goes to ACOrigins, because Curse of The Pharaohs was very fun and so goddamn beautiful and unusual as well (forever in love with the pharaoh's afterlife maps, honestly such a great idea visually). If I'm nuts about the base game, and if the DLC really adds something, I'll have no problem buying a season pass. I bought one for ACOdyssey because I just managed to transfer my Uplay points into a 20% discount offer, which basically made the Gold version cost just 10€ more than the normal version, and knowing I had fun on Origins' DLCs, I thought why the hell not. I'll see if it'll deliver, but so far so good.

Gosh I need more female protags whom can be as raw  and do it without being judged. It felt far fresher than the ones we get nowadays, it's so lackluster where we don't get any other strong female protags :(

In other news, the stand alone sequel to Far Cry 5 has been announced, will be titled “Far Cry: New Dawnâ€, will be set 17 years after FC5’s events.

You mean far cry 5+  or what people were saying far cry 6 0u0plz.png

It’ll take place in the exact same place, just reskinned, so probably an upgrade of FC5.

Installed the Epic Games software a few days ago, and I noticed they have Unreal Tournament, so I may or may not have installed it once again, just to get them vintage feels! I used to love this game so much and play on it a lot, I can always count on it to deliver some fun!

Also, amazing classic indie game Journey is finally coming to PC soon (used to be a PS3/PS4 exclusive thus far), it'll be available on the Epic Games Store, and I cannot stress you all enough to give it a go and play it at least once. It's 2/3 hours long, and it's pretty fucking G R E A T. Still my very favorite game of all time up to this day.

Don't know how Epic Games managed to get their hands on it but I'm so glad it'll finally come to PC. Honestly I feel like Epic Games Store might very well become a pretty interesting alternative to Steam, they already snatched some exclusives already, can't wait to see how this unfolds in the future months, especially for the indie game scene!

I usually cringe at the thought of Epic Games because I'm not the biggest fan of Fortnite but I agree that the Store definitely looks promising for indie games. I'm interested in the 'Hades' game that was shown for Early Access in the Game Awards, will have a look out for Journey too!

I am the exact same, I'm not interested in the least in Fortnite, nor anything related to it (although maybe I should try it at least once just to not be totally ignorant, I guess), so I was reluctant at first. But then Epic Games are also the ones who made Unreal Tournament, and that's a relevant game in my book, and more importantly, they're really trying to shake things up in the indie games market that is slowly but surely being fucked over by Steam, and as an Indie games lover, I can totally wholeheartedly support that!

So far I've just seen my partner play Ashen, another one of Epic's indie exclusive, and it looks pretty damn great! It mostly is a Dark Souls type of game so I probably won't enjoy the gameplay, I don't think I'll try it, but I love the art direction for sure. Same for Hades, even though it looks cool, I'm not sure the gameplay will be to my liking (looks like Hyper Light Drifter/Transistor).

Just finished playing Gris which got released a few days ago. And goddammit, that game is incredibly beautiful, I have not seen a game this beautiful in a long long time. I'm very likely going to play it again at some point because I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff, and I wanna get all of them achievements too!

If you like contemplative emotional platformers that are also stupidly gorgeous and unique in their artistic direction, I'd say yes. If you don't, I'd still say yes!

Thing is I heard it's like Journey and I know I don't really enjoy puzzles but the art style is what makes me consdier it. Plus the art style does capture my attention but I'm not sure how I would do with the puzzles. Are they reall complex  or can you just play it without any guides?

Ooof, this video puts the finger on why RDR2 isn't all the hot shit it pretends to be, and why seeing it getting 97 on metacritic feels unearned and makes me cringe.

It's similar to Journey in its contemplativity & beauty (and I'm someone who has Journey as one of their top games ever). The puzzles aren't THAT hard though, I only needed help like once, that's it. For comparison, I needed a lot more help through Limbo for example. But anyway, you'll never know until you try, I suppose!

Apparently, Sniper Elite V2 is getting remastered, according to the Australian Ratings Board.

I just finished Red Dead 2! The epilogue chapter was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. rlytearpls.png

---------------

2018 was a decent year for gaming overall, I guess... I mean, aside from all the microtransaction-related and typical companies being greedy controversies.

Although, I don't know if anyone can relate, but it feels like I've been playing more and more "old" and niche games rather than recent mainstream games in the last couple of years. I used to mainly play triple A games some years ago, but lately, not so much. Actually, I think GoW and Red Dead are the only ones I played this year...  I'm really not sure whether it's due to all the monetization BS or I'm just losing my interest in triple A games. lol I mean, I just think it's weird considering I actually have my own money to afford $59 games now unlike when I had to beg my parents to get me stuff laugh.png

So it took me just over one year to finish Xenoblades 2, I loved Super Mario Odyssey but Xenoblades 2 has became my favourite game on the Nintendo Switch. It just took me forever to complete and boy I am so glad I did. I got the dlc to do but my emotions are all over the place. It has such a sweet ending too. Caught up on my 2017 Switch games that I wanted to play. Bought World ends with you and Octopath Traveller which I want to play :)
