General Gaming Thread

Been recently getting into action games thanks to the new Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 4. However pretty much whenever I look for action games that are considered good it seems like they always have sex scenes in them. There is nothing I hate more than sex scenes and sex scenes are honestly a deal breaker for me when buying a game even if it's one of those weird off screen things. Anybody have any good action game (that is not a fps) recommendations that contain no sex? I'd be looking for recommendations for any of the following systems: SNES, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, wii, ps3, ds, or 3ds.

I know sometimes fighting games need updates and patches. And one or two is okay, I'll admit I plan to pick up DOA5 Ultimate.But this series needs a break. This is the like 3rd official update, and the game engine is well over 5 years old. Its about time to start on the next title.

 

And yeah its cool to add some new characters. But 4 of the 5 that are announced are just using recycled models from Street Fighter X Tekken, so this seems just lazy. I guess its nice for people who have hold out on picking it up. Its about $40 and you save on dlc. But for someone like me who already got it, its a pass for now.

Am not sure what sort of games you're into action wise... ><. You have games like Ninja Gaiden 2 which don't really bother with sex from memory, from memory, although there are Tecmo's trademark oversized bewbs and lots of gore. Don't think Uncharted ever went overly sexual either. Aside from that, maybe something like Ico or Shadow of Colossus for PS2?

And if you are telling me you own a SNES or N64, I must say I envy you greatly.

Yeah, it was good that you hold out. You save on the full price game and get dlc that you could of paid more for. And I doubt Tecmo will released another update, considering how new systems are coming out, they'll be likely working on the next sequel.

 

And Revelations, is that the Resident Evil port from the 3DS? I heard it was decent.

Probably DOA be next since its considered their flagship series. I know there is Ninja Gaiden Z, but that's a spin-off. Though I do hope they'll work on the next Ninja Gaiden and avoid the issues that plague NG3

What are your general impressions about DW/Samurai Warriors? I'm asking because I will be playing Sengoku Basara and I wanted to know how both series differ when it comes to gaming.

Earthbound is getting a surprise release on the Wii U Virtual Console today, according to the new Nintendo Direct. Anybody else planning on trying it out to see what it's like?

I can't decide if that game's worth it. I'm not really interested in the story/gameplay anymore, but I may try it just because I like Diao Chan's new outfit (it's on par with the last installment) and am SOOOO glad Zhen Ji finally has her flute back. I was so annoyed when my two favorite characters became clones of one another LOL

 

But seriously, this outfit is so good:

I wish videogame characters would go back to wearing crazy outfits like this. She needs this outfit for the next game:

 

Zhen Ji's outfit is significantly worse than it was last game, though.

I already downloaded it on an emulator on my computer, it was fun, but I don't like playing emulator game for some reason so I didn't get far, but now that it's out on Wii U I'm DEF going to play \O/

I have never played it, but the trailer looked sooo fun. I'm still finishing Super Paper Mario, but I will be downloading the game tomorrow. It looks sooooo good.

I do have a Wii U~ And no I haven't, I bought the Wii U kind of rashly, when I did, I realised I only played Sonic Racing and didn't touch it since OTL But I did google Trine 2, art looks nice, kind of like Braid or Odin Sphere

Yeah, it's depressing rn, but Pikmin 3 is out in 8 days so I'll finally have another game for it \O/ I actually got NintendoLand free with the Wii U and have yet to unwrap it OTL And I've been focusing on unfinished games too, but instead of Wii games, I've been more focused on the DS/3DS it's about time I finally finish Pokemon White

NintendoLand looks like so much fun. I bought the Wii U deluxe from my brother's friend and I'm missing that game. I really hope they sell it individually.

 

I think Super Paper Mario is actually kind of lame as a game. It just doesn't feel like a finished experience. I'm disappointed because I LOVED the first game.

 

I just got back from Walmart and I thought I bought a Wii U games point card, but it turns out it was just a Wii one. Now I'm stuck without Earthbound and have to pick some random game from the Wii Shop channel LOL

Not only do you guys have awfully overpriced games (although this may have changed since I was last there?) a formerly messed up age-rating system (grats on the new one!), but you also seem to get as bad a deal if not worse than us Europeans with release dates T_T.

Only thing I'm not too happy about is Da Qiao now looking more like Himiko from Warriors Orochi at times. 'Tis just from some angles (mostly the face and hair), but still ;A;.

Wasn't even aware they'd changed Jeanne's hair till you mentioned and I googled =O. Wow. 

Ugh, Bayonetta 2 makes me want a Wii U T__T. Curse my lack of spare money.
