I'm 70 hours into P5 and just finished the 5th palace. About how much do i have left? I have this week off and would like to try to beat it this week if it's possible.

You should be about 80 ish percent done. If you are looking to just get true ending, expect about another 25 hours bad ending will clock you up to 35 hours. first play through took me 105 hours, second with just skipping class dialogue took 70 hours (with grinding and 100% compendium + confidant) for me personally.

 

 

Finally finished Cold Steel 2 after 60+ hours damn, the character building really is one of the best I've played in an RPG, I love how you can get unique dialogue and cutscenes depending on who you choose to accompany you.

 

Gameplay is fun but tbh I found the bosses way too difficult (playing on normal) and for some of them had to lower the difficulty a few times before I could beat them but then again I didn't really grind and take advantage of the orb system too much besides just putting the strongest arts.

 

Story was..okay, I didn't played the first CS so some of the characters were lost in context for me but even so it was fun to see how events played out and that big twist at the end was pretty good.

 

Expect another 20 hours tbh, my playthrough took about 90 hours and there's still a couple more dungeons ahead of you

Overall whom did you like most in CSII? If you think character build up is good in the second game. The first game would make you feel a lot more for them since that game was heavy on its character development compared to the second.

From the main cast, probably Fie for her sarcastic and straightforward comments plus her delay skills saved my ass so many times in battle but if we're including everyone, definitely Duvalie, she's so hilarious  and yeah I've seen that trailer, looks good, hopefully won't take over a year till it's localized 

Both CSI and CSII took two  to three years and seeing how Trails in the sky third chapter was just released in the west (despite how old it is) we would be lucky to get the third game in 2018. Nihon Falcom is such a small team and NIS are localising a lot of games /:  

 

wait are you saying the bad ending takes longer than the true ending or is the 35 hours getting the bad ending and then getting the true one? 

The later, the bad endings are short but to do each one will eat away at it.

CSIII won't take that long. I think Xseed switched focused to CS after SC because they said SC finishes the Liberl story and Third is a side story. We didn't even know we were going to be getting Third. And CS sells wayyyyyyyyy more than the Sky games do. I think CS games have sold a combined 1 mill+ iirc? And Sky is like in the 10s of thousands or something super low despite how hard it was to translate those games. 

If only they remade and/or remastered the games for the FC,SC + third chapter into one collection, that would just be enough for people to get it. The thing I find mostly weary off was the graphics and gameplay which are still used in the later, CS games but are so so out of date. It's the same thing with Persona 1 and 2 when they both are just too outdated that most people would bat an eye to it.

Well I'm done with Valkyrie chronicles, got the dlc to do but that was an interesting experience. Though the ending was a bit cliché to say the least.

There are already remasters for them but Xseed said they're not going to bring them over. Probably because they already spent so much time working on the originals before the remasters were a thing.

 

CS games do look bad and dated but i think they still appeal to people more than the Sky games. People probably look at Sky and think it's too old school for them even though i think Sky is way better. Gameplay-wise i think the non-hardcore jrpg fans see all jrpgs as dated unfortunately. Except for the more western influenced ones like FFXV and Xenoblade.

Should have just scrapped Sky third chapter and brought the whole collection over as a remaster. /:

Like Atlus revamped it for persona 5 and a lot of people bought into it. So I don't see why other jrpg devs can't do it. Also ffxv is KH on steroids.

I think Xseed said that while they were working on SC. And if you read THIS, i think it's understandable that they didn't want to drop their work and start over. I don't think they would have sold that much more with cleaner looking sprites anyway. People would have still looked at it and think it's dated. Xseed is smaller than Atlus also i think, and Atlus is already pretty small themselves. But Atlus has Sega backing them now too so that helps them. 

 

What exactly did Atlus revamp for Persona 5? I don't remember anything about this.

Plus their models are better than the ones in passed Persona games. Than again I did get into RPG games with p4 and that was my very first JRPG that I ever beaten /:

First event is this Saturday with EA kicking things off followed by Microsoft and Bethesda, can't wait for the PC showcase and Sony (uncharted 2) + Nintendo, please please please Pokemon Stars and SMT or even FE warriors

speaking of Life is Strange, it's free for PS+ for this month... heavily recommended if you don't mind interactive games and/or love time traveling stuff like Steins;Gate and subtle yuri ;)

LIS 2      my personal goty of 2015 was LIS   can't wait for this game to be out also it's not close/similar to Steins;gate since that was more of a visual novel, LIS is comparable to Telltale games as they are more interactive. Besides Chole + Max isn't yuri 

 

There were rumors that it's a prequel. Not sure how a sequel would even work

Yo i might actually buy this and it'll be the first time ever i pay the full $12 lol. I've been interested in the Fault Milestone VNs for a while and this is a pretty good deal just for those then add in the couple others.

 That visual novel bundle, Sekai project O.O got it just yesterday and root double for it's price alone on that bundle covers everything I just wanted, than the World End Economia and  Narcissu all makes up for it I gave most of my other codes away and just have two more which I really don't want.

 

I saw this, but what are those visual novels even about? Are they all romance ones?

Visual novels are games like Danganronpa and I believe you even played Zero escape, Root double is created by a friend of Uchikoshi (writer of Zero escape) so you could give it a try  though there are some visual novels which are just text based, about a war example fate/stay, Dies Irae,  science Steins;gate, chaos;head,  thriller higurashi when they cry, slice of life; rewrite, clannad (although that's also Nekige aka crying + emotional attachment  genre), mystery like Danganronpa and zero escape, fighting guilty gear and Blazblue. There's far more but the main premise of VN are mostly just like a novel where you just read, sometimes there's gameplay like Zero escape or even rpg elements (persona can be said as a vn despite it's social elements + RPG but not really just borderline). Hope this explains what a VN is

Oh no, I know what visual novels are. I have played quite a few of them. I was just asking about the ones in that humble bundle, since I haven't heard of them before.

Oh the humble bundle vn's some of them  are the typical romance/ecchi nsfw ones, like Nekopara though world end economina is more for the prospective of economics, saw a few reviews about it which seems really positive, root double which is more mystery than anything else. fault milestone which is more fantasy, science, Narcissu which is a vn about illness and from what I heard really emotional and engaging  (I need to read that).

OMFG DSJAIDJ)JWE( I AM IN TEARS!! The first reveal screenshots were kind of meh to me ( esp the new characters ) other than the visuals and Sky characters. But now, we finally get a glimpse of Fie and Laura and omfg they look so badass and Fie with long hair JFC. And Ouroboros look so effing badass too... Iron Maiden and the Stahlritter, Shirley and the Red Constellation, Campanella, Mcburn... damn Falcom is going all out with this game

they have been mentioned and referenced a lot in the Steel series and Arianhod even had a cameo in CSI... i'm curious what's Arianhod's up to... in CSI, she saved Class 7 from Nosferatu.

Only bought like 5 or 6  2017 games but I have say ;

Nier Automata and Fire emblem Echoes shadows of valentia are my top 2 of 2017, runner up P5 (there were some issues making me question it). I recently got Horzion and Yakuza 0 which I need to play before judging them and getting Splatoon 2 soon  will need to pick up BOTW as well later down the line.

I see you're playing Gundam Breaker 3 now, how is it? Was thinking of importing it since it looks fun but I know nothing about Gundam

V3 trailer looks really intense, I can't wait for September 

 

As for Breaker 3, it's aright, gameplay is your typical warriors games (Dynasty warriors/Samurai) story is meh, there's more game mode like defend and attack the core yet that; can get tiring after a while. Building gunpla seems to be fun and the best thing for the game (well for me at least, customisation and just the level of detail is great) although you would need to play the game over and over to ensure you have the perfect parts for your gunpla. I'm not one for the gundam anime myself (barley know anything of it) but if you like warriors than go for it.  There was a new gundam game that was announced just last week or so ago.

I've heard so many good things about Night in the Woods and it's on my Steam Wishlist, I think I may need to purchase it soon!

Haven't played Echoes yet, but Nier is truly amazing, my one complaint is that I wished it was longer, I loved it so much I wasn't ready for it to end .__.

I'm so hyped for Danganronpa V3! one of the most interesting VN!

^^I never played Yakuza but Horizon is quite good. Def' worth checking out.

Got them both recently, just playing horizon first and within the first hour I'm hooked. I love the graphics and gameplay seems like Tomb Raider which is what I love. I'll just interchange between Horizon and BOTW for now.

 

though I'm not really a big fan of BOTW just the fact it doesn't appeal to me and I get slaughtered a lot.... Reminds me of Dark souls - the dark lore of Souls

I finally started Steins;Gate 0 VN after weeks of procrastination and after watching Steins;Gate anime ( since I'm too lazy to play the 1st VN again ) for the nth time. And dayum, this is already hitting deep. I can tell I'm in for an emotional journey.

i thought about buying steins;gate 0 when it was on sale on psn but i heard that an anime adaptation could be happening soon-ish so i decided to wait for that instead. Hopefully that's true and not just people making assumptions...

 

Xseed needs to change the video on the Cold Steel steam page and replace it with a proper trailer. Why would you choose to use that video to sell your game.

Studio white fox just finished airing Zero kara Hajimeru MahÅ no Sho this week and have Peacemaker Kurogane scheduled. They still haven't announced anything for S;G0 besides their planning on airing 'soon' most of the things I read in the past month have been speculation about S;G0 anime. I say its going to air fall (others also been thinking too). I would bet 2018 though knowing how much they have in their plate.

 

Highly recommended the visual novel over the anime as anyone whom plays the vn first will always tell you the vn is far superior. Not as good as the first vn mind you but still good. S;G anime missed some points where I found was needed from its vn SPOILER for S;G

Escpially the scene with Nae stabbing/slicing and getting Okabe to repent on her father's death.

That scene still haunts me sad that it's not in the anime and the alt endings added more character development mostly with Mayuri though

 

 

On another note

 

 

Chaos;child West release (another Science Adventure from 5pb from the same line up of S;G) I can't wait for the localisation 😊

omfg, i just realized you could choose to turn off your phone and not answer Amadeus' calls... i've been answering her calls until then... now, i'm really conflicted whether i should keep answering it or not... i agree with Okabe's reasoning why not to answer, but at the same time... this game is so cruel :(

As for steins gate 0

 

the vn has multiple routes depending on how you choose to answer or decline you'll be on one path or the other. On S;G original it was text and 0 is amedues it depends on what you want to hear but ...... Who wouldn't answer it?
