So according to Capcom if your game doesn't sell 2 million don't expect a sequel.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/oct/07/ono-we-wont-be-releasing-new-darkstalkers-game-anytime-soon-unless-someone-buys-staggering-number-darkstalkers-resurrection-copies/

I understand it costs money to make games. But sometimes I wonder if they set themselves too high of expectations.

I'm still kind of sad about that. I really liked Darkstalkers. But sometimes the things Capcom does is just an equivalent to flipping someone off.

Storyline/gameplay: Silent Hill 3

But if you really want that extra creepiness to it then play Silent Hill 2

Those were actually the two games I was thinking about playing first. I'm probably going to play the second one first, then the 3rd once I get them from Amazon/Christmas. Thanks!

I was thinking of getting DOA5LR but after finding out some features are not gonna be in the previous gen system, I've held back. And TN gives their reason.

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/11/04/team-ninja-on-why-dead-or-alive-5-last-round-is-missing-features-on-360-and-ps3/

1st being only digital for PS3 and Xbo360 is because retailers are slowly phasing out physical copies for those systems. Which is fine by me, I usually prefer a physical copy but digital is fine as well so long as I can get the game.

But apparently several stages and customization features like choosing hair/glasses are not gonna be in it. Reason being that the previous gen systems can't handle it. IMO that is a bullshit excuse, I highly doubt a few new stages is that difficult to program. And supposedly the new characters maybe only for current gen as well.

Sorry, but I'm not willing to shell out money for a new system just for a port. Tbh I'm really getting sick of so many titles from the previous gen which are only 1-3 years old coming to a current system. I seriously hope these companies start working on their next game instead of doing this.

Obviously this game got the attention they wanted. Some people may say this is like GTA, but GTA element was never focus on just purely violence it was merely a means for your goal. This is just violence for the sake of it.

While I'm sure some will buy it, and while the average gamer isn't always the brightest, it seems like feedback doesn't seem favorable from gamers as well.

Couldn't you make some of the characters wear glasses or have their hair down in DOA5 ? :wth:  If so, it just sounds like they're trying to be lazy.

You can. Its just that currently you have to press specific button or direction pad, and its just that you won't know what it looks like till the game loads

This is the new feature with the hair/glasses option. Basically it lets you choose and preview before the game.

Why such a simple feature can't be implemented is beyond me, but it screams lazy. Granted I'm more upset we might not get new stages or even new characters.

I don't really like the pigtail Ayane has. Maybe I'm too used to seeing her short hair. But yeah, it's really lazy of them to not even make an attempt to add something as simple as hairstyles and glasses. Plus, I feel like updates like these could've been in DOA5U.

I don't really like DLC. And tbh, this is one of the few things I don't like about fighting games right now. We're literally coughing up more and more money for things such as costumes, characters, stages, etc. when that could've easily been put on the disk in the first place. And don't even get me started with re-releases(Games like SSF4, DOA5U, etc.)

This right here. Paying money for things that should have been in the game from day one. The DOA5 DLC was released upon the release of the game meaning that it was ready to go from the start. And you expect me to pay 2 bucks to see Kasumi in a bikini? Eat my ass Team Ninja.

That's the thing I've stopped doing. No more preorders. Since I buy games digitally exclusively now, I wait for reviews and impressions before anything. Day one purchases are a thing of the past for me unless its from a particular company that I can trust.

-----

Along with that statement, I download Dragon Age: Inquisition and played about 30 mins of it. Love it so far. Wasn't fond at all of the first two, controls were meh and the pacing felt way too slow, but this one is great. The visuals are stunning, the controls and gameplay are so much better, and the characters are unique. All in all, the reviews of the game are on point. Plus, I trust BioWare. They don't release broken games and they have an extensive history of delivering great games.

I won't tell everyone to go buy just from 30mins, but if you can, watch some reviews or people playing it to get an impression.

Exactly, and on disk dlc is worse imo. It's like being told that the pizza you want is $10, but if you want toppings, you have to pay another $5.

Had the chance to play the new SSB on WiiU over the weekend

While the game won't change my stance on it as a fighting game, its definitely still very fun to play. The 8-player smash is very fun, but its not without issues. First if you play on a large stage, it will be harder to see your character and if you have a small tv it can be frustrating.

I've played it on the 3DS, and I found the controls to be a bit confusing. What were the controls like on the Wii U?

Classics don't mean anything to me anymore personally. What you did 10 years ago doesn't mean shit to me because I'm not playing games from 10 years ago. Bungie is a prime example of that, love the Halo games, Destiny however is easily forgettable and lacks content imo. It's not a bad game, but I don't have much of a reason to play it really.

It's not that everything Capcom has done has been terrible. Dragons Dogma was good, and DmC was solid. Resident Evil games however have been pretty mediocre since 5. 4 was new, i liked it, but from 5 and everything after was either bad or decent at best.

Won't even touch the atrocities Mega Man has suffered.

Their best selling game last gen was RE6 which was decent, and still didn't reach it's necessary sales quota despite selling 6.5m.

I don't want Capcom to fail, but to say that they've been fucking up is an understatement. They need to get their shit together.

This. Most of the games they've been releasing recently have either been the same thing I've seen for the past 5-6 years, was mediocre, or was just flat out bad. If Capcom doesn't do better, I'm giving up on them.

Since Tekken's new catgirl character got bought up earlier, there's some news about her.

Some people on twitter have been tweeting producer Katsuhiro Hanada that they don't like her.

He's made several responses to people.

Hanada has been vocal in the past about western dogpiling on Japanese developers, so nobody is quite sure if he's actually going to remove her from the NA release of Tekken 7.

People who ask for a character to be deleted annoy me. What if that character does actually get deleted and gets replaced with someone else they don't like? Are they going to ask the creator to delete them too? Honestly to me it doesn't even matter(If I like or dislike that character) because someone down the line is going to use her sooner or later.

And that's not all, it's not as if you can make characters out of the blue, it takes an assload of time and resources, if she gets deleted, it doesn't mean someone will take her place it just means....there will be one less character. There isn't a magical roster number they must abide by, really, getting rid of characters that work fine benefits nobody.

Also, poo Mircosoft is publishing Tomb Raider:

https://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/542057412988248064

If that means Tomb Raider isn't a timed exclusive, and just an exclusive then I guess I'm missing out on this Tomb Raider =/

I didn't care much for the rebooted Tomb Raider though, after replaying the older games.

Eh.. I don't want an Xbox One so that means no Tomb Raider for me  :._.:

That's why it doesn't make sense for people to ask that. It gets people absolutely no where, and the creators basically wasted their time.

http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/doa5/lastround/vote/index.html

So I saw this poll of which female DOA character Japanese fans want as a wall tapestry. Not surprised at Kasumi winning. What surprised me is how close Marie Rose was, just more at how popular she's gotten in a short period. And apparently there will be a Marie Rose 3D mouse pad for the special edition of DOA5LR. :wth:

Sometimes I WTF at Japan and their obsession over pre-pubecesent looking characters. :twitch:

Even though I like Kasumi, I kinda wanted my fave to win. :._.:

Its Marie isn't it?

Lol Lucky Chloe of Tekken right? I'm surprised at how mad some people were at the character considering Tekken has pandas, dinosaurs and kangaroo's.

Tbh, I have no issue with actual characters themselves. Just more weird out by Japanese fascination by it.

Anyway just recently find out that both XBL and PSN been hacked. And my roommate situation with his PSN account

original.jpg?w=600&h

Sony just ain't having much luck this year. At least in terms of hacks.

Nope. It's Ayane

And I guess that's why when I tried to get myself a Christmas present on XBL it wouldn't work.. Ugh

Ah I see. Well at the very least she still ranks one of the more popular characters.

Anyway, found some unfortunate news for a classic fighting game.

Just like the MvC2 and 3 from last year, this one is about to be pulled from digital purchase. Sadly its already gone on PSN and the XBL version in a few days. Luckily I've already purchased it earlier this year during a sale. So for anybody still interested, best to pick it up before it goes out.

Despite my issues with Capcom, at least for awhile they developed some good Marvel fighting games. And while Disney owning Marvel has been great movie wise, gaming not so much.

How much is it? I might buy that instead of SFIII 3rd Strike.

Yep yep, after Injustice and MK9 I was nervous about the women, their jaws especially, but they look really good here so \O/ Also makes me excited for Injustice 2, May Wonder Woman and Raven never look as horrid as they did in Injustice 1

Now I'm just waiting for Jade, and it'll be the BEST.

I'm pissed that they're having a character as pre-order, like, get out of here with that noise =/ God, I wasn't even planning on pre-ordering it and I really don't care for Goro but that's just BS =/

I'm stoked for MKX, and Kitana looks better here than she did in the previous game imo. However, even though Goro isn't a character I don't particularly care for,it's bs that he's only available for preorder.

It's looking pretty good. I haven't touch a Dragonball Z game since PS2 days but I'm actually excited for this one. Character creation, a new 'what if' story universe involving your new created characters and an online world hub where you can interact with others etc. Can't wait.  :ahmagah:

The story universe involving the created characters reminds me of a mode that was in Soul Calibur III. I forgot the name of it though.
