My favourite JRPG series alongside Persona. Since the 3rd is for PS4 maybe theyll release 1 and 2 there too once theyre done with PC. Otherwhise Ill rebuy them for PC.

What I wonder is how I would be able to transfer my first two saves to the third game, it would be nice if the games were both on PS4 

Also trails in the sky 3rd chapter  is releasing in May on steam

I got the Uncharted 4 bundle so right now i have that plus i bought Persona 5 and Bloodborne~ That should last me a while in terms of the big games. I really want to play Night in the Woods also and my pc is too shit to play it so i might get that for a smaller game to play. Will probably get Rocket League just to play with my friends too. 

Nice collection of games already there Uncharated and bloodborne as well tho  still need to beat Uncharted  2 & 3

can I ask a game player: how long does a session last?

 

I'm talking about a game like Overwatch, I'm unfamiliar with all things game-related, but I'm curious how much time does one player need?

Fps and other online games for me that is similar (when I had no thing to do in life) 2 to 3 hours if I have homework or other things to do 2 hours maximum. You can say an hour was all I "needed" though unless gaming with friends

Finished persona 5 just yesterday and man it felt so good, the story how it even delivered, how everything just came together. I'm mind blown from the game. Love love it so much.
 
END GAME SPOILERS 

When everyone was being forgotten during the end of the game, everyone's existence being erased, how they just delivered it Katsura Hashino delivered on the story superb, even though it's not as dark as P3 (being death) P5 takes the crown being so relatable as it manages to captures the 'what is my entire existance purpose, do I even matter if people forget me' mood the 100+ hours it captured my heart and just Mona and Momentous disappearing hurts so much, the emotions and the OST. The OST Shoji Meguro outstanding composition once again, it fit the game's mood so well, weather it was a dungeon fight, the boss fights, the palaces, the emotional parts, the credits.

 

 

Those 100+ hours that I've invested in the game I've not regretted a single moment.  Started NG+ as soon as I finished it.

Finished Persona 5 second time just yesterday, clocked in at 185 hours for 100% compendium + confidant with grinding, going to play it again to finish of my platinum and started to play SMT IV

I decided to take a break from Persona 5 for a couple of weeks. I'm not enjoying the dungeons. The fact that you can only save in safe rooms makes them even more of a drag for me.

The dungeon aren't that bad. That's where the main gameplay is /:

I know they're better than past Persona games, but yeah.

The only thing which is bland would be Memontous but even than to say persona 5 having better, I'd argue different /: surprised to hear that tbh

Trails of Cold Steel 3 launches on September 28 in Japan. Wow, I didn't actually expect it to release this year but fuck yes! <3

 

It probably won't be localized until 1-3 years though (assuming it even gets localized) rip. x_x

I love the graphical upgrade! Nowhere as stylish but it kind of reminds of P5's graphical upgrade even the combat system. I don't mind the new characters as much as I did when I first saw them as long as the old cast has roles to play (I think they will). A few Machias and Jusis banters would be nice too just for old times sake. And please make ( Fie x Laura ) happen, Falcom. <3

 

Long shot but I want to see some of the old random NPCs have cameos or references as well just to see what's up with them. The twins Vivi and Linde, Mint, Friedel and Loggins, Edel, Alan and Bridgett, Vincent, Margarita (lel) and Sariffa, etc. And especially Beryl and Rosine, there's like some major future plot shadiness about them even if they were treated as just random NPCs. lol Honestly, the Trails games have the best NPCs ever (like it's been a while since played but I still remember most of them). Most named NPCs have their own stories and character development and there's no plot and gameplay benefits behind them but it's something detailed and nice and makes the world feel real and immersive. 

 

OMG THE SCREENSHOTS, THE UPDATED VISUALS AND ART        I WANT CSIII RIGHT NOW   still have trails in the sky 1 & 2 to play alongside the newly release third game, might pick up the third game soon since it's on sale

 

 

 

 

mementos do suck. Their design, the repetitive music, the way the game constantly nags you to go do the missions, and how little they make you care about doing them because you have so many other things you're already trying to manage. I don't think having to save in a save room is that bad though. They're never that far apart. 

 

I do think P5 improves in a lot of ways mechanically. I just wish i cared about the story and the characters more. They're not doing it for me and i think its partly because it is just being weaker than 4 in that area, and Trails somewhat ruining jrpgs for me lol. 

 

 

I saw something about possible Trails in the Sky characters showing up in Cold Steel 3? I didn't look into it more because i was scared of seeing spoilers since i haven't even played CS2 yet.

Agate and Tita. Which would be cool cus i really like Tita. Sometimes she's not great but other times she's your best character in combat and kicks ass :O

 

 

Memenots is like Tartarus but worse at least that's for me.  As for palaces, it's like the first palace was good, second and third were dull but it gets a bit better on 4th, leaving it there just in case of spoilers but the game does pick itself back up later

I only use Momentos for the money + EXP exploits and when I absolutely need to do a quest for a confidant. 

 

fair enough, they did kick my bum like five times when I was severely under level xD  what did you think about the end part of the fight where Caroline and Justine tells you about their sisters.

 

You don't need to be overleveled /: unless you're going for 100% compendium? Nor do you need much money. Mementos quests alone gives you enough cash and one other arcena. needed over 15,000,000 yen for 100% compendium when I was level 20 to 30

I didn't really mind Mementos that much. Probably because the combat feels fun for me and the visuals are easier on the eyes... the combat and grinding were kind of a drag in previous games because of the technical limitations. 

 

My least favorite palace was the 5th palace. I didn't really like anything about it other than Haru. Haru is going to be my main girl in NG+ after finding out her sadistic and homicidal tendencies ( girl crush material tbh <3 ).  I was already with Makoto at the time and I'm not here for side girls... lel I hope she becomes available earlier in the inevitable re-release enhanced edition ( Crimson, Ruby, Blood, Rose or whatever red reference Atlus decides lmao ).

 

Other palaces I didn't really like was 3rd. I wouldn't have liked the 2nd either but I fucking love art, bruhhh. I wasted so much time staring at the portraits and paintings. Amazing details. I found the rest of the palaces awesome though. My favorite was 4th. I love the music and design. 

 

 

yeah, I think I saw something about it too. I do know characters from Trails of Zero are going to be in it (spoiler reasons... don't look it up  lol).

I wish they localize Zero too especially since Zero is tied closer to Cold Steel than any other games. 

 

I don't even know much about Zero but I can already recognize references to Cold Steel just based on the OP.

I just want a full HD remaster of the  first trilogy (something like Cold steel graphic would be nice) but how it aged well over the past decade. Also that Zero trailer looks so good   Waiting for CSIII will be the death of me..

 

 

 

Though in a way as much as I enjoyed my 190+ hours with persona 5, I really can't see it topping Nier Automata as my GOTY. Automata had everything I needed, dread, dystonia, emotional roller coaster, philosophy, writing, mind twisting, great side quests, loveable side and main characters, lore, music. If only persona 5 released last year, that would had made it much more of a sense going against FFXV for RPG of the year. Sadly now Nier Automata is going to be a gem lost in the sea of games.

I didn't even expect to like Haru that much. But she grew a lot on me and by the end of the game, she was my favorite slightly over Futaba and Makoto. Not to mention, she also has a huge disadvantage of being introduced late in the game too.

 

For me, I'm still torn which game is my game of the year tbh. Maybe i'm just going to go with "why not both?" lmao

Automata was just an amazing experience. Probably the most emotionally tugging game i've played, more so than The Last of Us.

 

I wish Persona 5's story and characters were more morally ambiguous like Automata. Especially since the cast is easily the most morally ambiguous cast so far ( well at least between 3-5.. i haven't played the others so i'm not sure about them ). Some of their actions and decisions were questionable, anti-hero like, and some even almost villain-like but at the end of the day, they were still good guys at heart. It would have been awesome if it was all out morally ambiguous since I'm a sucker for those type of stories.

 

Yeah, it's a shame how underrated Automata is since most people just assume it's just a sexbot game. Tbh, that's what I thought too before my brother got the game while waiting for P5. lmao I'm also not into robot/android type of games and anime so I didn't even expect to like it when I started playing but I immediately got hooked because of the alluring, mysterious, and sometimes creepy atmosphere of the game.

Judging people for thinking Nier Automata is a sex bot game >.< did people not play the demo? That itself was more than enough for me to be like "wow.. This game feels so realistic despite androids whom are having humanoid emotions"

One of my fav track, Keiichi Okabe best composer you'll love the game more going though it, make sure to do the side quests too. They add so much story and development. Automata GOTY for me

 

I game on console tho so can't get that deal :( thanks though. I played the demo on ps4 a few times over and loved it, I planned to get it on release but shit happened and barely had time to game afterwards. I'll get around to it eventually.

Same. But I don't think that will happen tbh. Well, I hope not. As much as I love the characters and I'm thirsty for more, I was very content with the ending even though the end-game god was my least favorite in the series. They should just end it there. >.<

 

Based on the popularity of the characters, the shit ton amounts of fan arts already, and the neverending memes, I'm sure we'll get 9139120391 spin-offs though. I can see crossovers from characters from 3 and 4 too (something similar to that fanfiction of a mess Persona Q lmao).

 

 

 

Speaking of Automata's soundtracks, they're absolutely amazing. <3 I like a lot of video games and anime soundtracks and I think they're pretty good, but rarely as wow-inducing and memorable as Automata's.

Knowing how much Persona 4 was milked I'm scared of the amount of persona we will be getting, the other new ip makes me question why they need so much for p5, when p6 could be in development.

Mementos was gone how on earth would they pull of another shadow world? Have the midnight channel? That would be far too cliche. P4 I understood since we learnt Teddie came from it and it didn't disappear even after beating Izanami. P3 you died! The answer was kinda pointless too /:

 

 

You should do yourself a massive favour and if you have a ps3 lying around, play the original Nier game. You won't regert it. Even though the combat despite not being platinum, its still good. The ost brings a tear to my eye

Hmm, just finished Nier:Automata all main endings and while i enjoyed it okay, the constant backtracking and running around really dragged the pace down imo even with teleport thing and by the end I was so annoyed with it, a perfect example of why open world is not always good

 

Anyway, combat was good to Platinum standards although I wish we could do more actual combos like Bayonetta and tbh I think I enjoyed the flight sections plus some instant death parts were hella annoying since the game doesn't auto save

 

Story was...interesting, while I appreciated the struggles between the characters, android vs machine etc, I never really found it too compelling and it does suffer from what most game stories do in not explaining everything clearly with background and purpose but I'm sure fans have a million theories already and I can see most people seem to love it so I won't bother pointing out my issues with it

Overall okay game, a little overhyped imo, nice environment and character designs but yeah nowhere near my GoTY sorry~

And yes the soundtrack is god tier

1. Did you do the side quests or at least 60% of them?

But true transpiration was meh. But on a boar or a deer is fun xD and spices up the transportation.

2. Welcome to Yoko Taro games. He loves changing up the gameplay and despite the flaw. Plus combo aren't really the big thing in the game, its more about chipset and how you utilise your build. If you find it aright, should have tried out various builds and not to mention you have three types and you would be hacking as well as combo and melee.

3. You do know that if you read the side quests logs even after beating them they hold some messages. The lore and story telling was superb and doing all the side quests will give you more of the understanding of the world and its characters. The fish you catch in the game adds lore as well. Even the weapons have lore. If you just focus on the main set line. You're missing out 50 to 60% of the content.

Yeah. I saw there was a bunch of domain names registered for P5.  Well, I only really care about the re-release edition, a fighting game, and maybe a racing game if it happens.  I don't really care about the rest. lol I just hope it won't be another 8 years for Persona 6.

 

Yeah, I still have our PS3 in my parents' house and I'd like to try it out when I stay over for a few weeks. 

 

I kind of want to try out the Drakengard games too, Drakengard 3 in particular cause too many pretty waifus and Zero is hot.  I've read that Yoko Taro games had always been awesome, unique, and interesting in terms of story and setting, the biggest problem had been the gameplay before Automata. But as weird as this sounds for video games, I actually care more about the story and setting than gameplay. I usually look for relatability and/or how much it interests me (dark, gloom, and despair are VERY interesting to me. lmao). As long as gameplay is decent or tolerable, I'm fine with it. Maybe I view video games the same way I view anime nowadays.

If persona 5 remake gives us more time to play and maybe adds some new confidant I think I'll pass /: Played far too much of P5 OTL and yeah 8 years is going to be a pain when SMT their main franchise has a new game now and again.

 

 

Give drakengard a chance though if you don't mind repetitive gameplay like the warriors series than you won't mind it (at least from what I head from my friends). Still need to play it and YESS. Zero is freaking stunning.

I'm just looking for new games to play tbh since it's the summer and I have 4 months of freedom. After playing Automata and after I finish P5 NG+, I'm going to have hardcore withdrawal symptoms. lol

 

The only games I'm really looking forward to in the summer are Tekken 7 and Tokyo Xanadu... and I'm still not sure about Valkyria Revolution (I love Chronicles but I'm not really feeling this one). I have to play Steins;Gate 0 VN too since it was on sale the previous week and White Fox is taking forever with the anime. :/

Highly recommend you to try out S;G0 seriously you need to read that visual novel, along with zero escape and Danganronpa (their all on ps4) or vita if you have them. Also try out Disgaea 5 (I personally didn't enjoy the gameplay but story was nice), Root letter, FF type 0 remaster too since you're looking for story based games and if you don't mind otome code realize guardian of rebirth is bitter sweet

 

I'm getting into chronicle so far but having a lot of trouble /: just not used to the game, on chapter 5.

Thanks! I already played Disgaea 5 and Type 0 but i'll try out the other games. Zero Escape sounds interesting and I've been wanting to get into Danganronpa for a while. I always see fan arts and pictures of Junko around. lol I like her already. 

 

Yeah, Chronicles get progressively harder as you get farther. Always look out for anti-infantry mines and enemy lancers can also one shot your tank if they get behind it. Those 2 screwed me over the most. Also, engineers can resupply snipers and lancers when they run out of ammo, if you didn't know already. ^^ 

Just make sure not to read any of the wiki's as they contain spoilers for Danganronpa since that would ruin the mood of the game. V3 Killing Harmony  is releasing in September so you can catch up if you do find yourself enjoying them. all but one (Ultra despair girls is coming onto the ps4 next month) are on ps4 right now so you can pick them up if you want and Zero escape collection are on it too

 

I just realised you could even call for back up, like retreat and then deploy, uses up two moves but it was worth it during chapter 6 when I needed two snipers at the beginning and than call in my shock troopers + lancer to destroy 6 tanks. Had Roise destroy all their snipers at the final turn lol but I keep getting  D ranks :(

The past Zero Escape's were pretty good and from what I've heard the newest one is even better, I think it's a safe bet for players who likes mysteries and stuff.

On one of the earlier chapter when Alica holds the imperial hand as he died  saying 'mommy' and being badly injured and died got me, that itself hurts a lot 
 
but than the current chapter I just passed....................... Isara dies, I was like (before the mission) if Isara dies I'll cry, something bad is going to happen right......... After battle.. Rosie and Isara becomes friends three seconds later, sniper shot Isara dies like WTF why be so cruel?

that soldier moment was one of my favorite moment too... especially since it's kind of rare for war-themed games to humanize the enemies... they may not be on the same side, but that soldier had a family to back to. </3

 

ikr... it's so heartbreaking considering Rosie used to be prejudiced against Isara too... and then that happened ugh

 

you mean prejudice against the Darkscen, Rosie didn't like Zaka too but seeing the concentration camp and thought of bull about them, holding a huge grudge and hate before seeing and hearing about the young girl parent's death by torture and then the fire of the camp which made her open up. I'm just surprised Rosie didn't get "darkscen hater" as one of her traits.

 

I'm just wondering how dark this game takes and how mesh more emotional pain the game will get me. XD loving it so far

Just beaten FE Echoes and it was such a great game, literally had a blast, the story and adventure, the game itself really was something special and the OST was just magical.     Faye is my waifu, she's just    my fav cleric + character, right next to Celica

Ooh, I need to start it still. I saw the limited edition was still up on Amazon a few days ago and caved. Looking forward to it, though. Glad they cooled down on the fanservice a bit and focused more on natural character/relationship building through story.

I do wished Awakening and Fates had the same thing before they were released, I'm just playing awakening now and the pairing system is making me a bit eeeh with it (Brithright was my first, still need to finish of conquest and revelation_  /: Granted Echoes was a remake of Gaiden but it's just what I needed from a FE game. Hoping the switch one (which is supposed to be stated for next year) has the same element of echoes.
