Kinda disappointed in the launch games. Looks like I'll just be waiting. March and April have too many games already coming out so I'll be busy with them.

Y'all better get Disgaea 5 on Switch if you didn't on PS4, one of the best RPGs ever

Man I still have to play it on my ps4. OTL. But I heard it won't be that easy to get into if you haven't played the original.

 

What is the launch lineup besides Zelda? That weird motion game collection, Arms, Splatoon maybe, and.......The ports probably like Skyrim and Disgaea? That does seem weak. So people are basically buying this new console for one game, which is Zelda. That's not enough to get me excited.

 

The whole thing was pretty underwhelming to me. They didn't talk about the console itself nearly enough and everything they did say was presented better in the trailer from before. I did miss some of it so maybe i missed some info, but are there still friend codes? Are they improving their store and internet? Is everybody going to have to rebuy all their virtual console games because games are tied to the console and not the accounts? Is that going to change because it has to. Things need to connect to an account instead. No specs that i saw. The important stuff you need to know to spend $300 wasn't given. It was just, here's Zelda and Mario. Go buy.

I'm pretty sure that's how Nintendo is keeping their market share though their biggest games franchise and milking their loyal fan base it always was the same for them. Wii U, Wii, 3DS. Only two games I'm looking forward to on the system are shin megmai tensei, Mario and xenoblades. Everything else is hit or miss.

 

At this point I thought we all knew the specs.

The Nintendo Switch device offers a 6.2-inch, 720p multitouch display that runs at a 1280 x 720 resolution when used in a handheld mode. When docked, the Switch is capable of outputting full 1080p visuals through an HDMI connection to an attached TV. Nintendo says that the Switch runs off a custom Nvidia Tegra processor, but hasn’t released more specific details.

 

Possibly an under clocked of the tegra chip but no info.

32 GB sounds pretty small but SD cards are pretty cheap anyway and I'm mostly gonna go physical anyway assuming it doesn't install the full game size like PS4/Xbone

Apparently gonna be $470 here which is kinda more then I was hoping but that's EB, they always have the highest prices smh, hopefully JB has it for $400 or so...probably still gonna get day one though just for Zelda rip wallet

If the save data are on the game card as well than I really don't see the problem there but games like skyrim needs 6gb free. Not to mention the Wii u had the same hardrive space.

Play it! You don't really need to play the other games tbh, they all have self contained stories and 5 has the best game mechanics in the series anyway, so much fun

 

Yeah I never had trouble with storage on Wii U since I went all physical but games nowsdays are getting bigger and bigger so even if the cart takes up the main games, there's still patches and stuff which can take up a lotta space

Right now I'm playing pokemon as my number 1 priority game. Beaten the story but I'm trying to finish of my pokedex. 252+ pokemon of 302 (SO CLOSE TO COMPLETION) and blazblue with samurai warriors. I'll be going though my ps4 collection so I'll get to it eventully unless persona 5 and Danganronpa which I'll be going though as a top priority.

 

You could always expand the memory can't you? Sd cards are cheaper these days and there's always room for external hard drive

Nice, I never bother actually catching them all in Pokemon games, don't have the patience And yeah both Persona 5 and DR3 are out in Japan now so I'm doing a total media blackout for both until I get to play them

 

I am definitely getting Bomberman too, used to play the old ones all the time

 

I'm 70 to 80 hours into the game and only had it on Christmas. Might just be me but the new battle system sos just let you chain Pokémon until a weather based comes. Did that for over 6 hours to get two Pokémon. I'm obsessed with it OTL.

 

As for persona 5 and Danganronpa. Their said to be coming out at the same time so. Pretty much I'm done with all of March April and May xD. But is so hard to keep out the spoilers I just want to know. Especially with danganronpa since I can't even enjoy the sub reddit :(

They need to have a strong E3. The die hard fans will carry them through the first couple of months, but then they really need to make a strong push.

 

There's that rumour that Pokemon will be coming to the Switch this year, so hopefully that is true.

 

Speaking of PoR, I wonder why they never spoke about virtual console at all.

 

I'm not one to say about Nintendo plans but hey if Pokémon is on switch like a jrpg one compared to a fighting game than I'll most likely buy the switch. I need to get xenoblades and the new Mario game so there's that. But I just wished it wasn't as expensive. £270 here in the uk..... Just ... Could get a ps4 and a game with that. £200 to £250 then yeah it would be the best price but £270.... Could get the cpu i7 6700 which  I'm saving up for that price.

 

Or could just emulate the switch games on my desktop. Would be a lot easier for me 2 years to crack open the wii u wonder how long it will take for switch games.

I've been seeing conflicting reports about the "free" game you get with nintendo's online subscription. First it was confirmed that you only get the game for one month and then you have to buy it. Then today i'm seeing that it's confirmed to work like ps+ and Gold where you get to keep the game as long as you are subbed. Idk 

 

when the paid subscription service is ready to go, users can choose whether it is worth it. To sweeten the deal, those that subscribe can “download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or Super Nintendo Entertainment System game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month.†There will also be special offers for subscribers such as discounts on select digital games and content, and help you make the most out of your time playing Nintendo Switch.

However, the NES or SNES game distribution has already been met with criticism. It has emerged that subscribers can only play it for the month that it is made available, after which they will be expected to buy it in order to continue playing.

“Confirmed by NOA: Monthly free classic game on Switch is indeed only available for that month. More deets on Virtual Console before launch,†Wired games editor Chris Kohler shared. “Sheesh, even my explanation was unclear. Sorry. That was the first report i saw. And then a dev working on a Switch game said this today

 

I guess it wasn't confirmed by nintendo but a dev saying this is still bad. Shows how bad their messaging is.

 

Also unrelated side note, i signed up for Origin just to get Mass Effect 2 for free and will probably replay it~

Well Nintendo are known to innovative. I'll prefer to wait for what their final words on it. But if the Nintendo online thing happens to all their games including handheld. I'll be mad. Is the only way I can complete my pokedex and I don't want to pay for that ;( their way of making people buy online still doesn't seem right to be honest. Splatoon was a mega hit for them but splatoon 2 and online needs to be paid. Man I don't know.

 

Mass effect 2 still to this day is my favourite game I played in that series.

If Hyrule Warriors Legends is anything to go by, the 3DS version is going to suck. A musou game just isn't meant for the 3DS tbh, since it requires hordes and hordes of enemies to be constantly charging at you. I'll wait until I get a Switch and play it on there.

How did hyrule warriors play like? Cause I don't want the switch but warriors and fire emblem :( as long as I get stable fame times I don't mind it. Though it is going on the new 3ds which just means more cpu power from there Edited January 19, 2017 by Salieri

It played excellently on Wii U. The 3DS port (Legends) was a shambles, though lol. Much fewer enemies on screen, pop-in, framerate dips, completely skipping animations etc.

 

Even though it has more content and characters than the Wii U version, most people consider the Wii U version to be the definitive one. They had to make a lot of sacrifices to get it to run on the 3DS. At least this time they had the good sense to make it a New 3DS exclusive, I guess. The game ran even worse on the original 3DS.

Practically what the vita is like with Samurai warriors than. Hmm. Think I'll wait until I see some gameplay. Never played the other one and just one game plus 2018 release doesn't really justify me the price of the console. But then again we have E3. I do want Fatal frame to be on the switch. That what got me to buy the wii u so having a switch game of it would really be great.

dontnod isn't part of Square. Square only published LiS but they don't own them like Eidos and Crystal Dynamics. LiS season 2 probably won't happen for a while because they are working on Vampyr right now.

 

Square has become an increasingly shit publisher though. Look at all the bullshit preorder stuff they did with FFXV and Deux Ex. FFXV being delayed because they didn't want a day1 patch and then releases with a day1 patch anyways because the game was rushed. The promised december patch still isn't out. Deus Ex now has microtransactions. An rpg...with microtransactions. Stupid timed exclusives with Tomb Raider. And what's the point of announcing this and then saying wait until 2018 for more news? 

Absolutely agree with you, seeing their business practices really make me question how much they will milk out of Avengers, knowing a lot of people would buy it and than possibly even micro transaction for the game......
