The most exciting news from the Nintendo direct for me is the announcement of Mario Tennis with a story mode again!

same!

the game looked pretty fun with story mode.

i never played a mario tennis before, but maybe this one might be the first! ilikeitplz.png ...when i actually buy a switch... ohdearplz.png

Oh man, you should definitely try the one on GBA, it's really good and the story mode is like a real RPG. I'm just glad they gave Mario Tennis another chance after the WIi U one flopped so badly rlytearpls.png

oh really? then i might give it a try, especially if its like a RPG

i love the "life well spent" tag in this topic.

anyway, i've been playing xenosaga I for the second time since i never finished when i first played during ps2 era and its so nostalgic, i love this game so much, the good old turn based battle i love <3

i just arrived

inside gnosis and this is my progress

XiMBwfi.png

im also playing apollo justice and im in the last case, unfortunately only 4 cases in the one, it had so much potential to have 5 cases like trials and tribulations, but.... oh well ohdearplz.png

until now its been a good game, apollo is a good protagonist, lets see how this last case goes.

well, this was my attempt to "shake" this topic. how about you guys post your progress of the games you all have been playing so we can discuss more here.

Tbh Apollo Justice is my least fav AA game purely because of Apollos 'i-spy' gimmick ohdearplz.png god, some of those were infuriating but the cases themselves were alright although nothing will top T&T for me. Have you played the newest ones? Though Spirit of Justice was pretty good and I liked the way Seances worked

I've been playing DB Fighterz, fun but man going through the story mode is so mundane and repetitive but I need to do it to get Android 21 playable, I like how she's basically a mix of all the villains lol, being a android, majin and having frieza's tail

latest?cb=20180119200357

really? tbh i felt like phoenix wright was being a bit of a d_ck with apollo with all the secrecy and not giving him credit enough for his efforts unsure.png  i mean, i "am" apollo so yeah, i sympathize with him, not to mention my disappointment with phoenix for what he became for 7 years, but i didnt finish the game yet so lets hope for a good explanation.

and i think the bracelet ability is better than the psyche-lock :v i hope its present in the next games, i want to use it moreee.

Trials and Tribulations is widely known to be the best game in the AA series (it's the #17 rated game on vndb which is pretty damn high for a hybrid visual novel) so I suppose it's only natural you may find AJ to be somewhat lacking as compared to T&T (don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing AJ, but not as much as T&T). But, fret not, because Dual Destinies and Spirit Of Justice are pretty good themselves (definitely better than AJ) and give T&T a run for its money.

If you liked Ace Attorney, I think you should try out Danganronpa since they are quite similar in terms of gameplay.

i havent played dual destines or spirit of justice yet, im playing in order of release. T&T is my second favorite, my first one is the first game of the series with the 5 cases.

i plan to play danganronpa in the near future, this game is quite famous, i just need to finish ff7 crisis core before, i think im not too far to reach the end of the game.

Oh yeah Phoenix's change wasn't my fav either when I played it but don't worry he goes back to normal in the next games. Have you played the Miles Edgeworth games, they're pretty fun too though not as good as the AA games imo

i played some minutes of miles edgeworth investigations and it seems more complex than to the other titles, i dont know when i will play for sure tho.

i just finished apollo justice today, i didnt expect that ending and all that present and past exploration with phoenix... it was very intriguing indeed, and all that truth about apollo and trucy i didnt expected that at all, my mind was blowing until the end. in general i liked it. not my FAVORITE last case but one of the most complex indeed. i think my fave case in the game was the second case, the kitaki gangters family case, its the most simple one lol, the third and fourth case were really complex but the emotional aspect of the second case affected me more (about the bullet inside the defendant's body).

the third case was very interesting too, like who the hell kiled that man and how?? how no one saw the killer flee?? it was really interesting.

but yeah, in general it was a cool game, it has its flaws but you know, it was reasonable to me.

now i have to finish xenosaga i and ff7 crisis core so i can have just one game to play and finish it before starting another.

Took me several hours and a few days of grinding but i finally got the Anja armor set rlytearpls.png

DVL-s1vU8AECXJY.jpg

Probably gonna use it for awhile, it reminds of the Wyvern/Pegasus Rider armor from Fire Emblem ahmagahplz.png

Cool! wow so many equip options...

as for me... in xenosaga 1, i needed to do many grind in order to get itens with high sell price and gain more money. you cant get money from monsters, only from human enemies, monsters only drop itens so since the place i was didnt have any human enemy i had to batlle monsters and the price for robots equipments are f__ing expensive, imagine buying for 3 robots!

FbNNEWI.png

and the monster with the best item dropped it only once per battle twitch.gif  and he always summoned more other monsters to protect him before i could reach him twitch.gif

but in the end i managed to get enough itens to sell and buy all equipment i needed. but i think it took me less time compared to your character to get equiped since it didnt take me days laugh.png

i have so many games i have to finish before my holidays end D:

i want to get the platinum for Persona 5

i still haven't ended Final fantasy 12 ( i can go to the final dungeon, but i want to do side quests)

also i'm playing Tactics ogre (i think i'm near the end) and persona 2 on PSP

and dragon quest 8 for the 3DS

ilikeitplz.png  i'm  clearly not the type that has to finish a game before starting another lol

im the same, i stopped so many game because i started others, i need to stop being like this or i will end up not finishing any game. i already dropped some games for the sake of organization even tho i was quite far in the story -_-

anyways, do you plan to do all side quests in FFXII? the final dungeon its not so difficult as far as i remember, side quests are good to level up so the final dungeon and last boss should be easy for you. FFXII is such a great game <3

i should stop doing that too, i keep forgetting how to play some games

or what i had to do in the story

i don't know if i'll be good enough to do all the side quests ;-;

(i don't see myself defeating Zodiark rlytearpls.png

but i'm going to try to do most of them and collect some legendary weapons

last thing i remember doing was the special hunter quests (on that beach)

it's a great game indeed

start the side quests by the easiest and simple ones and than gradually go increasing the challenges and you'll be doing the hard ones. but tbh i dont remember how difficult they can get because i dont think i did all of them when i played. its been many years since i finished ffxii on ps2....

Zodiark was an intense battle when i fought it, i was so nervous, i knew it was the hardest esper, but fortunately i defeated him laugh.png

but yeah, if you do the best side quets (the ones who gives best/more experience/rewards) and get legendary weapons the last boss will be a piece of cake. FFXII last boss is one of the most easiest in the series imo.

i think i've already done a lot of missions

and i think the ones that are left are the most difficult ones unsure.png

actually, it's the 2nd time this happens to me with FF 12 laugh.png , i played it on PS2 too and i never finished it either

so i hope i actually finish it now

honestly, for me the easiest Final boss from the Series is probably the one from FF 15

but i haven't played many Fina lfantasies, and i yet have to fight the ff 12 one

oh really??? did you played the original ou international version?? tbh im glad they made this remaster, i wanted to play the zodiac job system so bad because it seems so interesting and fitting in this game, but i only played the original and i only got to know the international version many years later when i didnt have ps2 anymore. So im glad they made this remaster and brought the zodiac job system back, but the thing is..... i dont have ps4 ohdearplz.png

i havent played ffxv but maybe its one of the easiest too 0u0plz.png

but tbh, doing side quests makes everything easy jCQ9zCm.png

i played the original version on PS2, and now i'm playing the remaster,

i kind of like and dislike the zodia job system

some jobs are super limited comparing them to others

really? i think job systems are always cool to have, it adds more variety to the gameplay ilikeitplz.png

it does, and it helps to keep balanced characters

but some jobs (like Breaker) aren't that good (or i haven't learned how to use it well)

hmmmm i see.....

  • 3 weeks later...

omg i defeated Zodiark on FF12 just on the second try ahmagahplz.png ahmagahplz.png ahmagahplz.png

i really thought i wouldn't defeat it, like ever, cause i searched on internet how to kill it

and everyone said it was super hard (even when everyone had like super genji armors and a the strongest weapons,, etc)

but i actually won, even though i only have the zodiac spear and the excalibur (now i have 2 zodiac spears RIP)

i was planning to just go to the final dungeon, but maybe i should try to kill Yiazmat (it's quite boring seeing it's life)

YAY Congratz!!

i think i didnt kill yiazmat when i played, i think he is harder than zodiark.

but if you want some challenge i think you should try... you know, as i said before the last bosses are not that challenging..  but yeah, good luck!

thanks! laugh.png

the only thing that stops me to fight it, it's his long ass hp bar datassplz.png

an hour battle isn't fun at all

at least i can scape from the battle whenever i want, but i have to be careful that it doesn't cast regen

wow, this seems interesting, i didnt know it take that long to defeat him, this makes me eager to fight him when i play this game again next time. i love this kind of challenge, it may be frustrating but it also makes you want to get stronger and try again

and this is how im feeling with final fantasy tactics war of the lions right now, i already beat the original game, but now im playing this version and the fact this game is still frustrating remain, i thought i was strong enough but the batlle im at its too difficult and its so damn frustrating.... i will have to grind some more or attempt a new strategy for the battle... but anyways, sometimes the rage is real.

That's truelaugh.png

i'll try my best to defeat it!

and girl amgplz.png  that Ff Tactics is super hard, i could never finish it,

mainly because of that part where you had to fight 3 times without a break

and when your units died you couldn't have them again

so it was horrible when you had the role you wanted for your character ready and the enemies killed that character

so you had to start from zero to have the role again ohdearplz.png

besides Magic was OP?? like it was super strong

yeah thats true, i never allowed my character to die because i wont starting it all over again, hell no. thats why you have to revive them before the 3 turns countdown ends. when the character vanishes i just restart and try again. and thats why this game can take a long time to beat, especially if you are a slow gamer like me, spending your time in that menu managing the characters, their jobs, etc and the battles also can be really long, even normal battles when you need to grind takes some time.... like really, thats some dedication you have to put in this game. And yeah, when you go to the parts with many battles in a row its really challenging....

i think im in the last chapter of this game finally, i taking my sweet a s s time to do all the quests in each city which take many days (in-game) to complete but it will be worth it, i already beat it before so no rush. i hope i can find balthier in this game, i cant wait to see my husband rlytearpls.png

personally, i'm used to level up while advancing in the story like on the GBA  or the DS tactics

so when i tried with this game, i found myself short of level while going fast with the story  warstarplz.png

with this game i learned that i had to level up in common  battles to not die in the important missions (and it took me a lot to understand)

i hope you get to see balthier!ahmagahplz.png

oh i played the GBA one and i really liked it! its not so frustrating like the original (i didnt tried the DS one)

but yeah, usually you have to stop the main story for a while and grind some levels before progressing, its a slow process but needed to get stronger. but not only the main level but also the level of the jobs. i learned just recently about how the job system of the War of the lions works (i never really dig into it in the past because i managed to pass anyways, with pain but i passed), but now with this new version im learning the importance of level up some jobs to get new and better jobs. the only problem now is the money because the best equipments cost a ton. i also took some time to understand the job system in the GBA one, but at least there was in-game and faster compared to this game, i had to search online to understand the job system of war of the lions  warstarplz.png

lmaoo

i took screenshot of almost every line of their convo, so good harharplz.png

now i still have to find other extra characters like ff7's cloud.

wait , their appearences are always random?

or you have to do special stuff?

they have especific ways to get them, Balthier's quest is very simple to find, you just go to a certain tavern and read the rumors there. His quest its different from Luso (the character from ff tactics DS) because Luso appears when you are in your way to continue the story so its impossible to miss him. i hear Cloud is more difficilt to get because you have to do some other stuff to find him, i dont know if i will be able, but i will try by myself, otherwise i will have to read online on how to get him ohdearplz.png  and also there's other extra characters you get doing different quests.

my flop ass would have searched online from the very beginning laugh.png

hope you find cloud without internet

i found aerith already (i think her appearance in the game is kinda unavoidable?)

but honestly, after every little think that happens i'm running over the world all over again to see if something new unlocked, looking into every tavern available, its kinda tiring but its the only way i have to be sure i didnt miss anything i guess. progressing slowly but surely. idontthinksobetchplz.png

just finished ff12 ahmagahplz.png

i didn't kill Yiazmat (ended up with just 4 bars of life (4 million hp)

cause it was stressing and even my over 97 level members couldn't resist it's attacks

yay congratz! ohbi.png

the members were level 97 and they couldnt beat yiazmat?? damn, he's one hell of a boss D:

in case you dont know, there's a sequel on nintendo DS, i dont know if its worth it because i never played it, but its really different from ffxii gameplay wise, its much more simple, its called final fantasy xii revenant wings, it happens 1 year later. if you curious check it out smile.png
