have you ever think kpop were in for music?

the shallowness in kpop fandoms is no joke,i feel weird when i go to kpop threads cuz 99.9% of ppl there just talk about relevances,cf's,beauty...etc.

actually very few stans appreciate the artwork and see it in a platonic way.

music is art,you have to feel it,

when singing your voice has to merge with the music and your body has to harmonize with it perfectly so it can be a master piece...styling adds alot to the atmosphere so that one can feel the touch of art.but kpop fans just overlook it all and we can see that the actually talented members are the least popular, for example,

when fans have an arguments,

they be like "my bae is relevance s/he has cf deals, dramas and movies appeariance that your fav will always dream of bla bla,at least s/he isn't a plastic surgery monster bla bla bla"...k so what does this has to do with being a singer/dancer? nothing.

i can't deny the fact that most idols just suck up to their names,

they just act cutly/adorably, master the art of winking to milk money out of you.i think that more than half of the trainees just join the company with maybe 20-30 % musical interest.

being an art student my self i feel like it's just plain shallow and somewhat funny when i see fans bashing/fanwars.

and yet here you are stanning them.

ofc i stan them,it's actually pretty normal cuz idol are likely to be very appealing/lovely/attractive,

so it's normal and very likely to like most of them.

but musically speaking most of them are average or abit above,

but seeing fans bash the real talented idols/groups bcuz of looks/personality/whatever other shit is what makes kpop not so about music.

Yes...I wouldn't listen to a song in a language I don't understand just because a person is pretty/'relevant' which doesn't mean anything to me because only a few people around me know kpop? And everyone has different tastes so what you consider as low quality might be great to others.

Lo music is a factor but not a major one. I believe kpop is more about performance as a whole. They include visual, dancing and singing, not music tho. Kpop idols interpretation of music is close to none. I rather listen to singer-songwriter if I search artists with music as the major factor, like coldplay, radiohead, beyonce or even GDragon. But, my eyes have their needs you know, kpop feeds them lol.

Kpop is basically a package which incorporates varying elements such as music, dance, visuals, image etc etc, the pre-packaging of all these elements has been essential to its success.

While you complain that some talented idols get bashed for their looks and shit, you forget that visuals also often get a lot of flake too for their lack of talent as people perceive it.

If you are looking for pure unadulterated music experience than Kpop might not be the best place for you, I suggest you look elsewhere because Kpop is about music and MORE.

agree! actually i didn't mean that kpop is low quality or anything,

i actualy cringe when someone say kpoop or whatever but what buthurts me the most is the mentality in the kpop fandoms and how they percieve kpop.

I think more people appreciate the art aspect than you realize.
And I don't really understand why someone would bother with kpop if they didn't like and listen to the music, so... I feel like the people who only care about appearances are probably a vocal minority.

That said, there's nothing wrong with also being interested in someone's stuff outside of the musical aspect of their career.

You know what OP? I feel you.

Now I just kinda ignore the terrible shallowness of it all but it seriously used to bug me. Anytime I'd even have one vocal complaint about kpop or them lip syncing or anything, i'd be met with "It's just kpop not the opera"...so yeah a lot of folks are shallow.

But while kpop is a package w/ visuals, charisma etc...the main product remains music...so yeah. That best be done proper or I'm not here for it.
