SM was already planning on having subs unit/different projects for SJ and Shindong was chosen mainly for variety stuff. At least that's what I read before. Sona 296 Posted July 4, 2013 Share Posted July 4, 2013 Shindong doesn't need to lose weight to show his talents. he's a decent rapper,singer,dancer,video director,Choreographer ( he created all the choreography that made for sj on every year of Idol Dance Battle and Ryeowook's Immortal Song2 ) and he's GENIUS when it comes to business he created a street dance team called Shin's Family and he has an internet cafe,internet shopping mall ,etc. let alone he with eunhyuk are the the ones who Behinds what is happening on Super show5. so stop this shit. But it ended up working well because he dances really well...he actually choreographs stuff with Hyuk and he obviously strikes a chord with variety because he's quite popular. I for one love that he's in the group, it adds dimension somewhat. I was impressed that in this group of your typical slim, idol-esque guys, there's a big dude in here who is QUITE CUTE imo (this shows when SM decides to style him well), who can move as well as he does. He's also no less of a rapper than Hae or Teuk and has a decent singing voice. Also if I'm not mistaken, doesn't he plan stuff for the Super Shows now? It really isn't rocket science if you are at all familiar with how Super Junior'05 came to be. Similarly you could ask why Kibum and Siwon were in the group since both were so obviously headed for an acting career. It was supposed to be temporary. They were supposed to continue on their chosen path after. Shindong is quite talented and accomplished but you have to do some digging around if you actually care to know. Most people can't be bothered. But surely logically you can see that there must have been something there for him to be chosen - despite his less than idolesque outer appearances. SM originally had the idea for SJ to a be rotational group, with members rotating in and out of the group (I guess it's kinda similar to the 48 groups/AS's system?), but then something happened, and they became a permanent group. Shindong might not be good looking, but he obviously had something to him that made SM choose him.
