Nah it goes further back than that. On her second single Turnin Me On remix, she made a comment that was inferred to be about Beyonce (as well as Ciara). Well the Beyhive didn't take too kindly to it, and dragged her on whatever social media platform was hot at the moment. As much as the Beyhive basically bullied her, she was able to continue on without a problem really. Knock You Down happened after that, and it is her biggest single to date. It was her second album where everything went to hell, and that was mostly because the single choices were bad/forgettable. Nobody remembers the first single, but Pretty Girl Rocked kind of saved her. She then did The Way You Loved Me, which was terrible in damn near every way. I guess if you're a good artist with good music, then it really doesn't matter if you have a feud with another artist because your fans will continue to support you. Keri went for someone with far more influence in the industry than she has.... who also happens to be genre similar....so... essentially... she risked a lot of the the producers and artists she'd likely be collaborating with.... very stupid....but hey....what can you do.
