Korean Queer Series Invited to San Francisco LGBT Film Fest

Director LeeSong Hee-il’s three-part queer film series was invited to the 37th Frameline San Francisco LGBT Film Festival.

 

The films’ promoter CinemaDAL said through a press release on Monday that the director’s queer film series, composed of “White Night,†“Suddenly, Last Summer†and “Going South,†was invited to the film fest, to be held on June 20 to 30.

 

The series was also invited to the 8th Israel Tel Aviv LGBT Film Festival on June 8 to 17, the15th Taipei Film Festival on June 28 to July 20, the 31th Outfest LA LGBT Film Festival on July 11 to 21, and  â€Focus on South Korea,†a special multi-film program, held by ContemporAsian MoMa on August 5 to 11, the promoter added.

 

“White Night,†featuring Korean actors One Tae-hee and Yi Yi-kyung, centers on a special night spent together by a flight attendant who is back in Korea after two years and a delivery guy who struggles everyday to make ends meet.

 

“Suddenly, Last Summer,†featuring Korean actors Kim Jae-heung and Chun Shin-hwan, tells the story of a teacher who tries hard to suppress his desire when his student violates all his personal boundaries.

 

“Going South,†featuring Korean actor Kim Young-jae and Han Joo-wan, begins as Ki-tae drugs his friend, Jun-young, and heads south with his unconscious friend. As the road trip begins, the secret between the two is revealed.
