I'd never do that. It's pathetic

I'll try to post everyday because I really like this thread. It's like a safe haven where I can say anything I want about Tao and not expect some idiot to reply with a dumb comment. I can't believe we're almost 30 pages. 30 pages of Tao I'm feeling emotional right now.

I'm glad you joined :)

I like Tao with anything but ultra short hair like in the new teasers

Anyone can dislike Tao even Chanyeol himself. Why would it upset me if a person has that kind of reaction when they have the right to? I just don't like how he speaks to him on camera, in front of other people. No one would like it if their bias had someone condescendingly (his tone, even without speaking the language, was just that especially in that Showtime episode before they went the beach) 'teach' the proper way to speak the language. I haven't seen the China line do this to the 8 members when they are in china. It's common courtesy to recognise a person's weakness and not to use it like that against them.

Tao forgives easily which is why he will be chummy with the person which is how I explain his friendliness. Of course a lot could be happening behind the scenes and they could be fine with one another but I can't see that so I form my opinions based on their interactions and my instinct. My instinct tells me Chanyeol doesn't respect him. Maybe it's because they are too similar or Tao's personality might be too irritating for him. I don't know. I'm just hoping they find a common ground or at least Chanyeol tones it down.

You explained it really well. I think that's exactly what I thought of Tao. He is just a really forgiving person. I'm a passive aggressive so I tend to hold things against people and rather not say it. It builds up and gets worse. Tao is probably the opposite and he will rather choose to confront it. By the way, I have heard it many times from people that Chanyeol's voice is condescending if they listen to it in Korean. Some said it's fine. I'm not sure about that because I'm not Korean and I can't understand the language.

Nope lol idk any Chinese shows.

But Exo-M videos usually have english subs really quickly. Chinese shows like Happy Camp is really funny. Some Exotics actually prefer Chinese variety shows over Korean's. I hope you will take the time to watch them in the future. Tao is adorable in Happy Camp.

Well the part about his stans was just a general statement, not directed at anyone here. Personally I don't find that Chanyeol has ever had a condensing tone with Tao or shown any disrespect. The way he corrected his Korean was rather nice imo. But that's me, we'll agree to disagree.

I knew that. Yeah we have too since we see things differently. They are 12 men working closely together so of course there will be friction. I'm ready to accept it if it was just me overreacting to everything. For now, I'll just side eye Chanyeol and nothing more.

Yup and that's true. I think I should cut those idols some slack. They're already tired from staying up late and working hard all day. Not everyone can stay composed to deal with irritable situations for them. But I still think that if there is something that they dislike about each other, they can't necessarily show it on screen. Even Tao, he wouldn't be able to show it and I'm pretty sure at some point, he had felt bad about something. He might not necessarily hold it against them for a period because I feel like he is the type that would resolve it right then, right there after the camera stopped rolling. He even said that one of the members said something hurtful to him on SSTP, but they were cool after that. By the way, I think Tao is transparent but not to the point where we can read everything about him. It's also an image he is selling or SM is selling for him to the fans. It seems like Kai is actually the most transparent member to me.

If he feels something he wouldn't hold back I'm guessing. We can't read everything about Tao but we get a pretty good impression since he has almost no filter and can't control his emotions all that well for an idol. It could be an image but he'll have to be a damn good actor to pull it off.

Why do think that? I always thought Kai was one of the most guarded members, it's just that he doesn't have a lot to hide or he's simple but he keeps his thoughts to himself

to some people it will be 'aww how cute they interacted' and I was almost like that until I replayed the clip and watched the gifs and it didn't strike me as friendly, not just his tone but the way he spoke.

I'm the worst kind of person because I can really hold on to gruges until it gets too tiring

It's not necessarily about pouring out his whole damn thoughts. I think when they're being own shows, he couldn't always show that he's zoned out or drown in some deep thoughts. Kai is actually attentive about the discussions, it's just he only joins in when he is interested. I think it's more emotional wise; Kai is really transparent about his emotions. When he doesn't like what Baekhyun or Chanyeol say about him, he would show it. i.e. dark kid, looks like Taemin...etc. He also didn't like it when Chanyeol made everyone else lost to him during the thigh wrestling. Also, when everyone was laughing/enjoying Kris's moments, he was the only one not reacting as much. It could be because he didn't find it funny or he thought Kris was overdoing it. I'm not sure, but he just wouldn't laugh simply for the camera, you know. I think that shows he is pretty real. Also, whenever Lay was asked to do some dance or simply a dance topic came up, you can totally see Kai sort of tensed up. He is probably nervous/excited/burdened/pressured because he was just losing his smile and becoming extremely focused. That's just how I see it.

Of course there will be friction, with all of them. I just don't think the two dislike each other or there is any ill intent there. Personally, I'm super easy going and I've never held a grudge in my life so that might have to do with why I see it so differently from others. As long as Tao is happy, it's all good to me and he seems happy.

Aw! I like Happy Camp.  Tao <3

I feel like Chinese MCs speak more English than Koreans.

Yes lol this is so true. Their engrish is actually better for unknown reasons.

On an unrelated note, does Tao actually speak canto or no? Because I've never heard him speak it before and i am inwardly curious about whether or not I could actually communicate with him if i ever met him and we all know about his adorable english skills

I didn't see it that way but then again I don't pay much attention to him. That's kind of cool of him actually.

Too many things happening in this thread rn. I need to catch up.

I personally don't find Chanyeol disrespectful either. I'll completely understand if anyone dislikes Tao, because seriously, he's childish, hyper, and annoying. Either people love it, or they hate it. Chanyeol was probably just a bit annoyed, like an older brother would with to a younger brother, but it doesn't really mean he actually hates Tao or anything. OR...Tao is very extroverted and gregarious...he doesn't really take offense seriously/show that he's offended. So, criticising him, ignoring him, and being openly irritated with him wouldn't hurt, and perhaps some members took this for granted.

You've got sharp eyes. I've noticed it too. I always see his smile slipping/becoming forced whenever he disliked something. He seems to be a very...reserved person for me. He's kind of like me, too. There are times when I find jokes funny, and times when I can't laugh at all. I mostly laugh and joke around when I'm feeling light-hearted, but because of all the stress of the assignments, not everything is amusing. Kai is probably a very hard-working person who have his own goals and is very serious about his career...so, er, he doesn't laugh all the time. Lol nevermind, I can't really explain..and I'm getting off track. Point is, Kai is definitely super real and exposed.

I'm not sure if he does...he never spoke any canto that I know of before...but Kris definitely speaks cantonese (he's originally from a canto-speaking city, anyway). Tao can probably understand it though.

He's engrish is adorable, but it makes me cringe sometimes

Yea, I know. I still feel like alot of people who think that are coming from a place where they themselves are uncomfortable with how the two act versus actually paying attention to how Tao seems to react to them. In my opinion, Tao seems to be rather comfortable with both of them (especially Chanyeol) and not in a way of just being "nice" (because he doesn't really do that) but like he genuinely has a good enough relationship with them. I've also seen plenty of times where both have been really nice and caring to him, alot more than them being "annoyed" at him so to speak, but nobody ever focuses on that. I just find that some Tao stans are a little too sensitive when it comes to him. Like if he's not being doted on 24/7, it means someone has a problem with him. Not saying anyone here is like that but just in general, that's a vibe I've gotten from some fans. Maybe because he's not my main bias, I'm a little more objective towards him. I actually think it's a good think that there is a member or two in the group that doesn't give in to his every whim, sometimes he needs a stern figure to help him reign it in a little. Anyways, just my take. Tao seems to like them so I guess I don't worry about it.

This is interesting, because between Chanyeol and Kyungsoo I always thought that Tao was most comfortable with the latter. I would like to hear why you think it is the other way around. From my point of view, Tao is more receptive and affectionate towards DO.

Yeah, I observe every little things I tell ya. No problem.

[CAP] EXO’s first box: Chanyeol and Tao

because lot of you lately thinking about tao and Chanyeol

Lol there were a lot of other cute ChanTao moments out there. It's just there were some that aren't that cute.

Hey llyx! Glad you tuned in again. Lol It seems like a popular opinion in here that Tao is annoying. I think it depends on the audience because to me, I find Tao not annoying but overly affectionate or responsive. He is clingy and some people can find that annoying while others tend to baby him more because they find it cute. If he does it to me, I wouldn't be annoyed for sure lol And yup, the best part about watching Exo on variety show is getting to see their interactions and responses toward one another. Trust me, I watched every single ep of Showtime for at least 4 times each. I usually watch my favorite pairings first and then I start to watch for other people's interactions. No, you're right. I think Kai is more passionate about being a performer than being an entertainer. You know what I mean? He puts effort in being a performer because he likes to dance and be an artist (although I think it takes more than just being a good dancer to be a true artist), but after all, Kai is still a Kpop idol. To me, he comes off a little boring when I watch him on variety show. I think Kai doesn't really mind about not getting that spot light on variety show because at the end of the day, it's dancing and performing that he actually cares for. So I'm not complaining.

This is interesting, because between Chanyeol and Kyungsoo I always thought that Tao was most comfortable with the latter. I would like to hear why you think it is the other way around. From my point of view, Tao is more receptive and affectionate towards DO.

To me, Tao is comfortable with both. It's the other two who aren't as comfortable with Tao and that's how I weigh their relationship. That's why I think ChanTao is maybe slightly closer than TaoSoo.

Chantao is kinda my guilty pleasure ship, i don't know why it's like a weird love-hate relationship but anyway the only thing that matter is that they're able to work with each other as group mates!!!
