I think there is too much Kai focus in the M version; it wasn't equivalent IMO to the Luhan in K version; but maybe that's just me; I also didn't like how the completely ignored whoever was singing the verse to focus on Kai dancing...we get it SM. Sorry for all you Kai lovers ahaha, I just wanted my EXO M MV to be...you know, an EXO M MV. 

 

 

OK, I was really annoyed because I felt like K overwhelmed the M MV but I didn't feel that way when I watched K version featuring M; maybe it was because there was so much Kai focus for K, and they refuse to let anyone else dance in the center for more than 3 seconds so it just seemed like a lot of K/Kai in the M version

 

 

I don't mind about Tao's parts (or lack-thereof) in K version. He gets a lot of good positions in terms of dance and I felt like overall we got to see him in the K version more than we would have if it wasn't for his dancing talents. Kris for example has minimal exposure in K version without the intro scenes because he's a rapper and he's also not a great dancer. 

 

Overall, I felt like the MV was poorly edited and this song was worthy of some type of storyline MV, or at least something more than dancing in a box with the 360/interactive camera. It's supposed to be overdose but nothing alludes to them being overdosed aside from that zombie move. At least bee hooked up to an IV or something or be at home, sick in bed and have a shadow of a woman looming over...something that goes with the song. 

 

 

Sighs typical SM favoring the face too much. I'm just so sick of that. I don't dislike Kai but the way SM gives him too much attention upsets me. I literally am sick of seeing Kai all over the MV in both versions. I know it's not his fault but I just have to skip his part. Like even with the cheek part, Tao was almost pushed to the side by Kai's moving around. Even in the M version, Kai is like in the front. I also agree with what you said about the camera focusing way too much on Kai's dancing. I get it, he's a great dancer and he has great expressions, but sometimes, they just randomly zoom into him.

 

 

Anyway, I cannot wait until the HD version comes out because I can't see Tao's expressions clear enough during his rap part. I have a feeling I will die when it comes out. 

 

The story line is basically them being in a maze and trying to get out. It is metaphorically reflecting their condition of being overdose by love. They want to get out of the maze but at the end, they're too late.

The bolded! The verse part was annoying because honestly since I don't follow K (aside from Sehun cause he's me in male form and also I'm a taohun shipper and chanyeol; cause he's goofy and I think he's cute) I can't really tell the different between the voices of Kyungsoo and Baekhyun. Seriously, they sound sooo alike to me. I really wanted to see WHO was singing the verse in Chinese but instead I got a focus of Kai dancing.... and then during the hip pop-and-lock they just randomly zoom in on Kai and it's like...wut??  Tao should've been the focus on that hollow cheek part in the M version but alas...  I don't hate Kai at all and I know none of it is his fault. I just wanted more M focus in the M mv and it just seems like, because in the OT12 dance, Kai is the center, there is no balance and K overpowers M in their own version. I just want SM to know it's OK to let someone who is not Kai be the center of the dance for longer than 3 seconds; even if they had let Luhan center the whole dance for the M version, I would have felt better about it.

 

 

but anyway... I get that they are trapped or whatever but they could have done a lot more with this. Some of the overdose fan arts with the syringe and pill are amazing and I feel like thats the type of concept they should have capitalized on. Keep making headlines and such. The whole "trapped in a maze of love" is just not fresh to me. The song had lots of potential for an amazing/intricate MV but it was lost. I personally, had so many ideas of what the MV would be like past the teaser but it fell a bit short. Still love it and the song though.

i just came home finally well school here (Canada,Quebec) is really different because high school is only 5 years and then you go in another school (cegep) for like 2/3 years it's like pre-college and then college i'm in pre-college i could of ditch but finals are coming so....

Wow after watching overdose videos on youtube I realised that Tao is getting so much more popular. There were so many Tao comments in the comments section and people saying that he's their bias. I'm happy he's getting so much love! <3

I think we can confirm that Tao's new hair color is grey. Kinda similar to Kai but slightly darker.

 

 

EXACTLY! I planned to be on a hiatus for a while too…I have tests, exams, assignments and essays to complete…this is seriously not a good time for Exo to have a comeback. 

I've not seen the teaser or heard the audio yet…..I want to wait till the full MV is out because I want a surprise. But seriously...

 

 

I went to read the lyrics for the rap part, and totally freaked out. It's oral sex 100%, if you ask me…..I cannot think of a better explanation. However…might this be a misunderstanding? We all know SM's english; the song probably doesn't have a sexual meaning to it in hangul. Maybe the songwriter imagined them being 'thirsty' for love, but not thirsty for sex and..er, that stuff. I really hope it's all a misunderstanding and wordplay…I don't think SM have the audacity to have sex mentioned anywhere just yet. Well, the K-fans so far did not start some kind of an uprising about this yet, so I think it's possible that it's just a mistranslation or something. Hopefully. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aren't you glad the Chinese lyrics isn't as suggestive? Also, after they sort of explained their dance/song, I definitely see this lyrics in a new light. You know I used to see the lyrics of Overdose as being explicitly sexualized. But now that I’m starting to get used to the lyric, i see it as the girl being metaphorically portrayed as the most addictive drug. They are overwhelmed by her love as if an addict overdose by drug. By drink and taste, it could be taking in a love potion. I dont know, I would rather see it that way.

So it is confimed that it will be released in 5 min? I swear SM is trying to drive us all insane with most of their statements regarding releases. I think they live in their own time zone where afternoon means late night and today means "just after 12 am the next day".

 

Oh, apparently there is more endorsement photos from the sunny10 cf comming. This was released today I think. and is that Tao on Sehun's phone? They seems to be constantly taking photos of each other

We have been duped. The 8 pm thing was probably only a rumor that got spread around. But I sure hope SM releases it today. With the MVs from the shocase being uploaded on the net SM is going to loose views from casual fans who have already seen it by the time the official MVs are released.

 

SM screwed up SNSD's comeback and so did he with Exo's comeback. I'm so done with him. I'm sure fans will watch the official one but the hype is gone. I already watched the leaked version over almost a thousand time. I don't know what he's thinking.

The smartest thing should have been to release the MVs as soon as the showcase was over. SM really is screwing up their promotions this year. I have no idéa who is holding the reins in SM entertainment any more because I thought Lee Soo Man stepped down from his position as a member of the board of directors, but whoever it is, they are letting good opportunities go to waste

 

Sighs. I don't know either. He did? I never knew. I mean I don't follow SM news anyway. I think releasing an hour after the Showcase wouldn't be that wise either since most of Exo hardcore fans are the ones presented at the concert. They would be really tired by the end of the show. It would be great if he release like and hour or two after because international fans are still awake and the K fans got a break from the concert and then could come home to watch it. I don't know. No chance of Exo winning daesang I guess.

Exactly! I'm so glad...I took it the wrong way too...I probably have a dirty mind. The Chinese lyrics are not sexual at all; only the english translation sort of shocked me. Your explanation is perfect, btw...now that you've mentioned it, it really does seem more like an 'addicted to love and overdosed by being too obsessed' kind of thing, rather than somethin' restricted.

I'm not sure. I mean, SM is all about money. If they really care about SONES, they would have cared about F(X)'s fans as well. Also, since they already messed Mr. Mr's comeback, shouldn't they have invested more time on Overdose to compensate for the loss? 

I think he did in 2011 or so? But he still has large influence I think, at least in concepts because he is apparently the one responsible for exo's super powers (at least according to Heechul). (On another note, I've always wondered if the exo boys had anything to say about who got which super power or if they where just handed one that SM thought would fit their image).

I think there wher eonly 7500 fans present at the showcase, so most hardcore fans would not have gotten tickets, but were streaming it over samsungs site. If they had released it just after the showcase I think it might have prevented the copying and uploading of the MV from the showcase, this fandom is super quick with uploading stuff because the fans in the rest of the world and china and south korea would have been able to watch the official one.

But yeah, one hour or two after the showcase probably wouldn't have made much difference. The showcase ended at approx 9.30 pm in south korea I think. Let's say that SM had at least released it at midnight the latest. That would have been a lot smarter than waiting as late as now.

I'm thinking about waiting until I reach 400 posts so I can get one for Kai, Chen, Chanyeol and maybe I'll get a Taoris since Tao and Kris are my favorites right after them and I can't pick just one.

Really? Aw, shipping wars in the EXO fandom weird me out so much... it's like people see them as fictional characters instead of real people. I understand people have their preferences but sometimes it can get a little too much. 

 

I've rewatched a couple of Showtime episodes a few days ago so lately I've been liking Taoris a lot but I have a huge soft spot for Taohun and don't see why I can't be happy for two great relationships Tao seem to have. That's pretty much why I'm open to any ot12 friendship. 

 

Yeah I know. I'm just glad I don't 'ship' Tao with only one member. I would be dead jealous if I did because he's such a social butterfly. He can't settle for one person. I used to not pay much attention to Taoris because they are such a popular pairing. I have a thing for underrated pairings. But their relationship is so authentic and cute. Yeah, that's why everything is postponed. The comeback is basically affected heavily. I think SM should make Exo comeback in China. Wouldn't that be a wise decision?
