I think he already felt emotional the second day on the 12th. I could definitely tell that because he was talking in a really low voice and he looked like he was about to cry already at some point.

I think the response he got from the Japanese fans overwhelmed him, not to mention he was probably very humbled by the fact that so many people came out to see them. ;~;

 

Yes, that could be true. Are you a Jpop fan? I bet you know more about how popular Tao is there. I get a sense that Tao understands his popularity among the group and where he stands. He isn't as popular in Korea and fourth in popularity in China (which is good but not when we consider it's among Exo-M), so when he realized he is so loved in Japan, it overwhelmed him. I do think Tao has learned to take fame/popularity more lightly as time goes by. He always reminds his fans that they shouldn't care too much about him being popular or not. He's very happy that he gets to do what he does and see the fans cheering for him from below.

Yes, I'm a fan of a few j-pop acts.  The only things I've seen around the web that may be a measure of his popularity are polls in which J-EXO fans vote for their favorite member (he usually ranks fourth right behind Luhan, Kris, and Kai) and some Tao biased ameblo blogs. I think the best and most accurate way to determine an idol's popularity is by looking at how many members have joined their fan cafe, but I don't think the EXO members have individual Japanese fan cafes yet.

 

I actually had no idea that he was the fourth most popular member in China. ;~; That's sad. He's just one of those people that you either love or can't stand I guess. </3

 

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Tao is up there in Japan. I really hope that people will love him more in the future. Hahah, yeah that could be true. Tao's personality can make people hate or love him. But I don't think that even if they hate him, they should downright bash him. This goes out to everyone. Like if you hate someone that much, just don't watch them.

Nah, he's def surpassed Lay along time ago. I was talking to C-fans and like in Chinese stores, they tend to have alot of Luhan merchandise, a good amount of Kris and Tao and sometimes they won't even have any of Lay's. Plus Tao has the most weibo followers (which doesn't mean as much except for the fact that he's the only one to have it verified by Sina so it puts his name out there that much more and he's been trending alot lately. Like just yesterday his EXO-M update was trending 4th for awhile and trending topics and comments say more about popularity). Baidu isn't used as much anymore so I don't think it's that accurate to use since most of the stans stay in weibo, especially Tao's since he's actually active there. But I mean he does have the second most followers so /shrugs. I'd say right now it's Luhan>Kris/Tao (I think it depends on the province)>Lay>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everyone else.

I have a feeling he will really shine once M starts to promote in China because he gets really nervous and shy when he has to promote in Korea. This kinda held him back in the Growl era (same for Lay). 

 

I think the only thing that made Korean fans like Tao more was Showtime. Tao had a lot of charisma in that show and screen time too.

It could be. Before Showtime I paid little to no attention to him but it basically turned me into a Tao, Kris and Chen stan. Without the three of them and Baekhyun it would have been a bore to watch. 

 

Tell me about it. Showtime basically turned me into a Tao stan. He just snuck his way up to the very top. It showed so much sides of him. I love Taobaek relationship in there so much. Kris and Chen also contributed to the excitement. Chen's laughs LOL

Lol no problem. I forgot to mention that Tao's baidu/weibo followers always have the biggest increases after a Chinese appearance (I'm assuming because of the screentime he gets) so I think Chinese promotions will do him even more good for this comeback. Especially since everyone on weibo was spazzing about his new hair and how manly/handsome he looks. 

 

That's so good to know. I always thought Tao wasn't that popular before. Tao is such an interesting person so naturally, he just gets the attention.

Nah, like I said before, don't underestimate his fanbase. It's huge. The money that's being collected for his bday is ridiculous and says it all.

It's his birthday soon. I'm so excited. I want to see what Kris and Sehun (and of course, the rest of the members) will do for his birthday. How much did they collect though?

The main big bday project (which has like around 15? of his fansites collabing) hasn't released the amount yet as far as I know (I could be wrong on that though) but like he has some other minor ones on the side collecting money for him and one of them made like over 20K in like 20 days or something like that so you can imagine how much the big projects are gonna raise.

Wow, such generosity from his fans. Hard works pay off. I'm so excited for this year birthday. I wonder if they will record his birthday in Exo planet or Exo XOXO
