Do you wished that KPOP was rock inspired rather than hip hop inspired?

One of the driving reasons behind KPOP's popularity is from the hip hop inspiration that feeds into the idol groups but yet there are very few idol groups with a band concept except for FNC and the big three prefers hip hop/electro pop over rock.

Also, before you got into KPOP, were you a rap or rock fan?

nah , they would sound stupid.

rock doesn't match well with gayness

kpop is more suited for girls , that's why nonkpop fans thinks kpop is gay especially boygroup

Oh, you have no idea!! This is the reason why I often prefer what they do in Japan, less hiphop. But I think I choose the right group and the right "bias". Thank you Jaejoong  :lub:
Now I need to learn more about K-rock.

(I have nothing against hip hop though, it's just that I personally prefer rock.)

Kpop's "rock" era has passed. LOL

It used to exist...where a lot of the boy bands would dress VK styled and some of the songs would be rock influenced. This was like....late 90s to early 00s.

Shinhwa's Yo
DBSK's Rising Sun
Super Junior's Don't Don

There were more bands being mainstream- The Trax was a thing, Click B and Buzz were a thing, Eve was a thing, Cherry Filter was a thing...
It was fun but I don't see it coming back for now.

Not really.

I love rock music, I listen to it far more than I listen to k-pop, but I don't see it working.

I'd like Korea having a legit rock scene though. The heaviest thing we get is Busker Busker lol.

They have a legit rock scene...you just have to look for it because it's not in mainstream kpop. You have bands like Cherry Filter and Transfixion...
