Is this creepy or not?

Okay so this guy just recently gave me his number. He was a little bit too shy for my taste, but I was willing to try a first date. Well WAS willing to go on a date until after two text messages he referred to me as "honey". I was creeped out because I thought that was WAY too soon for terms of endearment like that. I talked to some girls about it and they all said they have met a guy who used terms like that almost automatically. I was pretty shocked because I thought it would be considered universally creepy.

So what do you guys think? Is using a term of endearment to a new love interest creepy or not?

It's not something I would do nor would i be into that. It'd be getting a bit too comfortable too fast for my taste.

depends on how you view it. cause it seems weird that after two texts he'd be saying that. then again most guys i know use terms like that on a daily basis. shy in person, but going upfront like that after two texts? seems fishy enough to think he's a creep.

I would definitely find that creepy - especially coming from a shy guy, like you said... could be his personality though, but still. Maybe because I'm just cold but I hate those "affection" names, weirds me out.

....Umm that isn't creepy at all what's creepy is this guy who i hadn't even known...like I legitimately had met him that day and I was with my friend and he goes

 

"I'm going to kill you with my love."

 

"I shower all my girlfriends in love."

Depends on how he said it. 

If he said "Honey, come over to my place and lets have some fun" then that would be creepy

If he said something along the lines of "Hi, Honey." then thats just fine lol

I understand why you find it creepy, people used to call me babe which I find creepy too actually I still do... I don't know how to help you sorry lol
