Tips for job interviews

Can anyone give me some tips I walked into a place for a job interview today, probably like the 15th place I walked into. They usually just hand me a job app and say bye and then when I fill it out never call me or anything. However I walked into a place today and they for some reason were really happy to see me, like oddly happy. They handed me a job app and told me that they wanted to interview me this Wednesday at 9 am and to bring the job app. Apparently I did something right with first impressions, but I honestly don't know how I'll do with the interview seeing as I totally bombed an interview with another place just last month.

  Any tips for job interviews?

Some of these will seem like no brainers, but~

Don't arrive late, it immediately shows that you're inconsiderate of their time.

Use common sense on general manners within the interview. I.E., don't just pull out your phone in the middle of things. You'd be surprised how many people think this is okay.

Take the time to actually prepare. As fun as winging it can be, you'll feel more comfortable knowing you at least have a general idea of what you might say. Some things they might want to know will be positives about yourself, negatives, what you can offer for the company, and things like that. As well as examples on things that you've done or situations you've been in for something (for example, "can you name a time where you were had to make a decision based on what's best for the customer vs the company's rules?" or something like that).

If it makes you feel better, you can also do a "mock" interview of sorts with a friend or family member so you can practice talking to them about some things. I'm not sure what exactly the job is so I don't know what other tips to give you, but these are some pretty basic ones that might help!

Just be smiley and show that you want to be there.

If it's a group interview, interact with the other interviewees in your group; that's usually what the interviewers want to see.

If it's one-on-one, be comfortable and start a conversation with your interviewer instead of bluntly answering questions.

After the interview, if they don't hire you immediately, they should give you an estimate of when they'll contact you again.

If they say they'll contact you in a week and they haven't, make sure to call them and ask about the status of your interview. HR managers love to see that the candidate is interested in the job.

Good Luck!

- Posture

- Dress neatly, show them you can be organized and kempt

- Try to avoid nervous ticks/habits. Don't hide your hands, keep them folded and visible if possible. Makes you come off a little bit more confident

- Don't bullshit them, be yourself. They'll see who you are when they hire you anyways

That was actually going to be how I introduced myself, thanks for the warning. hahahah

You were going to introduce yourself as "Kinky.....santa...."?

I should go an interview and tell them that I'm "LoveSubin" LOL.

(5 minutes later)
