Group discussion: do you think it's alright if guys hit girls, or do think it's alright if girl hit guys?

So, I been seeing a lot of domestic violence news lately from American media and also Korean media.

I don't know if there's a thread about this but I just want a group discussion and gets everybody opinion about this. Because everybody thinks different.

Is it okay guys to hit girls if they hit them first ? Or is it okay for grls to hit guys? Because they're a lot of abuse relationship from guy beating their grls but Is different if a girl hits a guy?

My opinion is always if the girl/woman wants to fight and act like a man then they should be prepared to be treated as a man.  But in stuff like KHJ case etc. where woman has done nothing wrong and gets beaten then that disgusts me.

I think it's only okay if you're defending yourself from serious harm, or protecting a loved one from serious harm.

Otherwise, I don't think there is an acceptable reason really.

You should never hit somebody unless it's in self defense, but if you do hit somebody you should be prepared to be hit back regardless of what your or their sex is.

The moment the fight gets out of hand, and someone starts to hit the other, get out of the room/place immediately. If they still be chasing after you, call the police. It doesn't matter what the gender of the attacker is. 

 

Tbh, there are many signs to determine whether someone is violent or not, before they even start hitting you. Love deludes people a lot. They tend to overlook such signs.

I know that's what I'm saying like people say it's different like girls should never be hit but I am myself a girl people don't realize that hitting a guy is the same thing as hitting a girl. And hitting guy Is even worse because guys are stronger than girl

Guys should never punch a girl if they are stronger than them and 90% of the time they are. They could just hold there arms down, however if the chick is going ham on you punch dat bitch.

I think it's alright if you both agree that you want to fight each other and do it on your private property. I had a fight with my gf once, we both agreed that we wanted it so we had it

No, there is too much of physical differences between the two genders. There is a reason why men and women don’t compete with each other in sports.

Yes. Regardless of gender, if somebody hits you then you have the right to hit them back with equal force (whether or not you always should is another question, but that's neither here nor there). It's absolutely unacceptable for a girl to be allowed to hit a guy without any consequences. Women are not children, they shouldn't be coddled (hell, even a child wouldn't be allowed to hit). If you hit somebody you should expect them to return in kind.

 

A lot of people make the argument that the average woman is weaker than the average man, but so what? If you don't fend her off then the average woman can still cause serious harm to the average man. You don't have to knock her teeth out or anything, but if she attacks you then you have the right to protect yourself. If she gets hurt, well, maybe she should've thought about that before she attacked you. Something that all guys learn growing up is that you should never start a fight with somebody who can kick your ass. Girls need to learn that too, for their own good.

Context would help, like during playful fights and playing around, especially as kids, teens... obviously the stronger one has to hold back compared to the weaker.

 

Generally seriously hitting someone is always wrong, however just like in sports like boxing, where people are divided according to their weight, said difference matters to me....

Like if a guy is 3 times bigger than another and punches him because he fell to the other's provocation...I don't know, don't really feel it's "right"... Or if an older sister loses her patience against her 5 years younger one and hits her with full force, I mean really....? To me it's not "ok" even if they were not the ones who started.

This! yes tbh girls always use emotions than think firs before act, but guys too sometime, some guys is a hot head like when girls hit him, he also hit her back. the point is u should use ur mind dont use ur heart even when the girls/guys really angry, still we should face it with cold head.

Depends on how hard they hit and for what reason.

I think a light slap is acceptable in some cases when there's been disrespect (someone spitting on you or touched you inappropriately, for instance). It's still better to hold yourself though, as even a slap can escalate into something bigger.

 

Punches etc are only really fine when you're protecting someone or something. Or when both are OK with it (boxing etc).

 

I don't think sex matters that much, but it should be considered along with age, size, etc.
