I actually like this. You didn't like BANKS Goddess? Tbh, i mean more than half of the album was already released as digital singles but i think people expected something borderline not possible in terms of her sound and genre. She's got the Rnb HipHop cutie image from "2 On" and this song sounds like an Rnb version of a generic EDM club song. She's always been convoluted with her music genres but I hope she's able to retain her ambience, like in her past mixtapes because she's everywhere with her latest releases. so hopefully her album won't be a snooze fest like Banks'. To be honest I don't even think she touched on ballad like sounds I think she -like you pointed out- withdrew the trip hop element in like one or two songs and she didn't even strip them out completely.
