[OFFICIAL] K-Drama / K-Movie Recommendation Thread

I don't really watch k-dramas but I recently started Dream High and I like it a lot, I'm also adding Age of Youth to my list

I'm mostly looking for dramas that take place in school, preferably more recent dramas or something that is like Dream High?

I recommend Seonam Girls High School Investigators and Solomon's Perjury (currently airing). Both are short, Seonam has 14 eps and Solomon's Perjury is set to have 12. Both mostly takes place in school. There is little romance taking place. They're also both teen dramas.

I would like to know... do you know some good Korean period dramas/movies?

The more historically accurate and the less melodramatic, the better

Thank you  :)

I don't know about accuracy but I really like Daebak

Bridal Mask is a really good one too (It's set during the Japanese colonial era in South Korea).

dont be sheep and watch page turner ya'll

Oh yeah! I've seen that. Pretty good. It'd go into my "favorite movies" list if was one.

I'm watching this right now. Absolutely hilarious!! It's making me rediscover my love for Lee Ji Hoon since I last saw him in School 2013 and You're The Best, Lee Soon Shin. :har:

Anyone here can recommend me for a unique drama (those insanely plots that are addicting). I already watch LOTBS because it has unique story same w/ Man from the Star. I prefer also those kinds of dramas like Goblin and W (Two World), w/c really gives me goosebumps. I also watched Kim Bok Joo due to curiousity. And now, I started to watch Cheese in the trap bcoz of Kim Go Eun, Hwarang (but only until ep 7 or so, I've got bored, tbh). I want also to watch intense/heavy drama! Thank u.

Since I dont know yet what to watch as of this moment, I rewatch Memories of Bali because I miss Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won pair. Yasss! I think should consider to rewatch also Nice Guy, Moon Chae Won and Song Joong Ki chemistry still got me

Hi, could anyone here recommend me a drama with a good female lead? I'm not into much comedy and I don't like anything to do with military or doctors or anything super historical. I can deal with romance but I'm not into overly sappy or fluffy things. Recently, I really enjoyed The Good Wife and Goblin.

To sum it up, a drama with a good female lead/not comedy and has a good plot please?

I'm extremely new to kdrama, I've only watched one (Hwarang) and I wanna watch more

I like pretty much all sorts of series, but I'm most into romance with comedy and a fair bit of drama. As long as theirs no love trinagle, or the one who the mc chooses is pretty clear.

Thank you in advance  :chu:

For romcom, my personal favorites would be :

- Kill Me, Heal Me

- You Who Came from the Stars

-Oh My Ghost

-Reply 1997

kmhm and yhcfts both have love triangle, but it's very clear who the main couple is.

But if you're searching for classic romcom, and you haven't watch many dramas, then go for Coffee Prince, Boys Over Flower, You''re Beautiful, and Secret Garden. These are like ultimate romcom dramas every kpop oppas has parodied it lol.

Hi all--

Am new to the forum *hand waves*!

I wanted to ask for some drama recommendations.  Dramas I've enjoyed include "My Girl", "My Love From the Star", "You're Beautiful", & "Bride of the Century" and they all seem to follow a certain formula that appeals to me: sweet, fun female lead falling in love with a more serious, subdued male lead...plus a mystery involved, the answer to which can endanger the main couple from being able to be together...plus somebody's true identity is concealed in a way that affects the plot and could also keep the main couple from being together.  Does anyone know of any other dramas that have all of this as well, or some of it?

Thanks for the help smile.png

Just finished "I hear your voice", do you have other dramas with age gap? (older woman and younger man?)smile.png

Let's Eat had a bit of an age gap with the woman been slightly older.

Healer is as close as I can get to your description. There's also Bring It On Ghost. Both are great dramas I would recommend.
