Hey can anyone recommend me some good dramas or movies similar to Love in the Moonlight and Moon Lovers. I need something to while i wait for the new episodes. Something with a lil romance is good and a captivating plot. I don't watch many dramas but the ones i also liked were the Reply series and Cheese in the Trap. Also I'm not fond of stuff like Heirs, and DOTS. I dunno if this helps with what i might like.

So like a little bit of romance, but not an outright cheese fest? Dong Yi, I Hear Your Voice, Another Miss Oh Hae Young, The Princess' Man, Splash splash Love, My Sassy Go Go, Master God of Noodles and Dae Jang Geum ( A Jewel in the Palace) are all pretty good in terms of K-dramas imo

So, I'm super new to KDramas (I've only seen one, High End Crush, and I didn't really like it) and I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for comedy dramas (or movies)? I'm not really into romance stuff at all, so the less of that the better.

All of the following are technically rom-coms to some degree.

Oh My Ghost

The Master's Sun

Secret Garden

Rude Women (godlike finding a place that even has subs for this)

Oh My Venus

Dating Agency: Cyrano

Angry Mom - starts of as a bit of a comedy but then it gets a bit more serious.

Sad but hilarious, heart-warming but heart-wrenching at times, making you cry and laugh right after, Jealousy Incarnate. Totally recommend this drama.

One period drama I really liked was the Princess Man. far more serious that love in the moonlight, and i havent watched moon lovers but i've heard is a bit dramatic so maybe more similar to that one.

Sungkyunwan scandal includes girl as boy and not so heavy feel (like love in the moonlight?), nice characters and competent acting (except maybe the main protagonist)

Does anyone have any recommendations for any of the k-dramas on netflix?

I was watching secret affair which tbh has some great scenes and interesting plot... although i couldn't finish it - maybe not my cup of tea - still i think is a good option to kill time since some pisodes are just beautiful.

And i just realised i need to keep track of all the dramas ive watched because im sure there are more... i just cant remember xD

Hi! Sorry about my examples here because I mainly watch Jdramas. I am looking for several things, either Japanese or Korean:

1) A light-hearted romantic-comedy, drama, or slice of life where the romance is not overbearing. (ex: Nobuta Wo Produce, Honey and Clover, Hana Kimi, The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop )

2) Suspense-thriller series (example: Wanted, Signal, Maou)

Might want to check out Lee Jun Ki's old drama Iljimae. That's been one of my favourite sageuk dramas. And I don't watch a lot of those. Lee Jun Ki + Han Yoo Joo + Park Shin Hoo = total perfect cast. And oh! this was also the very first time I fell in love with KIm Yoo Jung and Yeo Jin-goo's chemistry. Right from the start, since they were babies, they were meant to me King and Queen of Sageuk :hurr:  Hopefully they will be in another drama together again and this time, they`ll be the main characters grown up version.

Somebody mentioned Splash splash Love. It's a two episode drama, and it was great! I would recommend Page Turner too - it's a modern musical drama about 4 episodes (can never miss out on any dramas that Ji Soo and Kim So Hyun are in : :hurr: )

Rooftop Prince was the best time travel sageuk/modern drama I have ever seen. Really Funny and can tug at your heartstrings at the same time. Great OSTs too.

1) i haven't watched any of the dramas you've mentioned but i would recommend age of youth, shut up flower boy band and school 2013 based on your descriptions

2) city hunter and gap dong

I don't really watch k-dramas but I recently started Dream High and I like it a lot, I'm also adding Age of Youth to my list

I'm mostly looking for dramas that take place in school, preferably more recent dramas or something that is like Dream High?

I'm currently watching it, but I feel it's too lighthearted and cheesy for my taste.

I'll keep watching just because of Taehyung though lol

six flying dragons is one of the most serious political sageuks I've seen. If you last four episodes, you'll be hooked. But if you're a beginner I'd recommend Iljimae, the lee joon ki version

I would like to know... do you know some good Korean period dramas/movies?

The more historically accurate and the less melodramatic, the better

Thank you :)

There's THE FACE READER and THE THRONE. For TV, I recommend SIX FLYING DRAGONS, it's serious and Yoo Ah In's acting is superb. I would recommend Dong Yi but I'm not sure if it's historically accurate Edited by Map_Linh
