The Ideal J-Pop Artist Face-off 2013: Round 1; Pairings #1 and #2

It's been nearly a year since I started doing the J-Pop Artist of the Week threads and for fun, they will now face off against each other to determine which is the best out of all of them.

This will also help me determine which type artists to go forward with in the future, but mostly it's just for fun.

 

All you have to do is vote for your favorites!

 

It's okay if you don't know them. You can still participate because you're free to decide which is the best however you like. Be biased or be unbiased. Base your vote on music, live performance ability, or don't do either and just base it off of looks. it's up to you!

 

The pairings for this first round will be switched out every two days for brand new ones, so make sure to vote and then check back! There are 64 artists and 32 pairs total. All pairings are completely random. I will make a new thread when Round 2 starts!

Difficult to choose from Crystal Kay and Mika Nakashima. I LOVED Crystal Kay's older stuff but absolutely HATE her new stuff. As to where I was always more neutral on Mika Nakashima. In the second pairing I'd definitely pick Exile I've been listening to them since I was really little girl and still adore them

lol i was half joking because i think people already know who they would pick without needing to listen to the songs.

 

but if you were to change something i would change the live Glamorous Sky video to a live of the normal rock version here. It's the one people are familiar with and it has Hyde rocking out on guitar 

 

The songs you picked are fine i just don't like Hatsukoi myself. Maybe

It's difficult to choose between Crystal Kay and Mika Nakashima because they are both excellent artist and have been releasing good material throughout their careers. I've been following Crystal Kay much longer but I'm going to vote for Mika Nakashima because she has released such excellent and phenomenal material outside of her ballads that are difficult to match. Don't listen or care much for Exile or Jyongri but I'm going to vote for Exile by default.
