Im a liar a scammer 892 Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Tbh, I understand why people might dislike the superficial aspects of EXO and I will never get into that group and classify myself as a supporter or fan. BUT I have to say that their composers and the vocal textures of their main vocalists: D.O, Baekhyun and Chen deserve to be commended. Whether I can get into a group or not I always tend to listen to their full albums before judging them and they really do have quiet a good discography (barring some disasters). EXO's biggest fault for me is that they give too much attention to the superficial (fans, visuals, upholding a certain mantra) things and not enough to their music (which deserves more) but that's the disadvantage of k-pop marketing. I don't think you understood my point. The hype that surrounds them tends to be less about musicality and more about the other things that I mentioned above. When you think of EXO: their music tends to be quiet down the list because there are other ridiculous things and notions that they are notorious for. Just like MID & Christmas Day or sing non title songs like Baby Dont Cry on radio to get people to listen to their amazing non title songs. Their discrography is flawless (I personally skip 365) .. I find K.Will's songs flawless and his vocals amazing...but the guy is seriously underrated...let's be honest K.will is really under rated... SM found a way to appease and draw in various crowds... The superficial crowd who loves "oppars" looks The listener who loves good music over looks The "If you don't have a likeable personality you ain't shit" crowd ..basically just said what they are... Etc.,.. SM found a way to appeal to various crowds.. The one crowd they left out tho that DBSK/JYJ/TVXQ has is ofc the general public/more elder persons who aren't into all this "young" music..which is why through exo 90:2014 and other things (such as immortal song) I've seen them trying to get that crowd as well for the boys.. Jessie J says its not about the money but for these companies it is all about the money..they're gonna do what they have to do..to get these groups famous and pump heap loads of cash out of them.. !~Aishak~! 1,813 Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Wow you are right op I disliked too many groups after being into them for visual only being stan for 1 month max no more visuals cannot make you stan for long talents can. but with EXO it is still the same hype if not more the whole package their talents vocals make you stay as a fan you know even boring songs i disliked i liked them more when they made a cover of in radio seems more appealing with their vocals they may pour emotions too i think they had love experience or unrequited crush or feel the pain in the song that is why also that senior in immortal songs told them that they make the song as their own and own the stage that is why they are appealing to many people maybe ppl who are shy awkward like some of exo seem to express themselves more into singing than speaking that is another reason....but they are so young why their emotions are so sad. Also different covers too make life more exciting that is why I'm t-ara fan too I mean to hear the song into many vers languages i even hear eng ver by fans and sing along but love it means the connection of music with people.. But yeah superficial kpop their visuals are amazing so ppl always point it out but in reality they had it all ..some ppl say because they are good looking and say like not good looking is talented and more talented than good looking one and they stereotype just like everything is becuz of looks sorry this is insecure come on the reason why ppl like them more than others is talented+looks as abonus> only talented fairness in life. Then later I heard songs like growl and became meh on Exo songs. Wolf has seriously grown on me since then. And I love Mama.
