If your lucky and your manager was chill like mine, he wouldn't hassle/confront you about it, put you on the spot, or even call authorities/higher-ups, etc. I thought he didn't notice for about a month until my next pay I noticed my paycheck was a lot smaller than usual. I did the calculation and it was subtracted from the amount I already received. Long story short - just tell your manager, they'll find out eventually and take it out of your next pay.
