What happened to JYJ's press conference in Taiwan?

^ Not 50%.  Not percentage, but number of people.

Quick translation:

"[JYJ members stunned by Taiwanese journalists' mass walkout on account of prohibition on photo-taking]

South Korean Group JYJ was at a press conference yesterday afternoon, to promote their upcoming concert.  But shortly after the presscon started, because the korean management company prohibited the Taiwanese media from taking photographs, it caused the more than 50 journialists present to angrily leave en masse.  Up on the stage, the JYJ members were stunned, looked at each other, and didn't know what to do, it was embarrassing."

Stupid manager.  He should be sacked.

no pics allowed at a media/press conference......lol.

Photo-taking is normally allowed before the press conference starts, as well as after it ends.  I'm guessing the journalists kept on taking photos even after the alloted time, and the manager tried to put a stop to it.  The way he went about it must have offended the Taiwanese journalists present, resulting in the mass walkout.

Taiwanese journalists (especially those covering the entertainment beat) are known to be rather aggressive and unruly at times... that said, the manager should have handled things better (assuming of course that that was what happened).

why would they not let the journalists take photos... it's a presscon. they had no problems with their previous stops..

the pic with the empty seats look weird. the journalists left but didn't take their stuff?

they were afraid local journalists would take ugly/weird photos. They did it all the time but this time was too much

they banned local journalists/reporters from taking photos but allowed Korean ones. It was very rude & impolite; that's why journalists/reporters decided to boycott the conference

Which line said they banned local reporters? I find it kinda weird if they only allowed the Koreans. :imstupid:

This is what actually happened at JYJ Press conference

[sUMMARY] 140911 Incident happened during #JYJ Press Conference in Taipei (MUST READ!)To avoid misinformation

Due to the miscommunication between the media and Taiwan's organizers, the media photographers were asked to stop taking photos during the press conference. The photographers were not pleased and went out. The situation became awkward but JYJ still maintained their professionalism with their smiles and fast reactions. At the end, because there were still some photograhers who didn't managed to take photos of them, they returned back to the venue despite they had already left and let the photographers take photos, which salvaged the unpleasant situation. They even bowed to the Taiwan media to show their appreciation before they got down the stage.

*many claps to our humble and professional JYJ*

C-JeS Clears Up Misunderstanding Regarding JYJ Press Boycott in Taiwan

C-JeS Entertainment explained the details concerning the recent Taiwanese press boycott on JYJ.

On September 12, one news outlet stated, citing a local news platform, that on September 11, the press boycotted JYJ′s press conference in Taipei, Taiwan.

During a phone call with Newsen on September 12, C-JeS Entertainment stated, "It is true that there was an issue with a hasty statement made by the Taiwanese emcee hired by the local promoter. However, the issue has been smoothly resolved and and wrapped up well."

According to the agency, during the Q&A time with JYJ, the emcee stated, "Please don′t take pictures during the interview since the flash is too bright and hurts [JYJ′s] eyes." About 6 to 7 photographers left the room, boycotting the event and saying they cannot work like this.

However, the emcee apologized for making a hasty comment and asked the photographers to continue with the photo time, and the photo time took place smoothly according to the agency rep. The rep also revealed that the report that stated around 50 reporters boycotted the press conference was false.

Meanwhile, JYJ continued its Asia tour in Taiwan at the Taipei world Trade Center on September 11.
