AOMINATION 457 Posted July 7, 2013 Share Posted July 7, 2013 Spurs/Heat starting to root for Oden It remains to be seen what their interest level is following Tiago Splitter’s extension, but the Spurs were reportedly still in the hunt for Greg Oden before that news broke according to ESPN.com ace Marc Stein. Stein described the Spurs and Miami as co-favorites “slightly†ahead of Cleveland and a handful of other teams. But as he notes, what that means remains to be seen. Ravaged by knee injuries, Oden missed roughly 80 percent of the available games during his five seasons in Portland after being selected first overall in the 2007 draft. When healthy, he averaged 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 82 appearances. Oden was waived in March 2012, after which he admitted to struggling with alcohol and depression. He has since been getting back in shape for a potential return, with recent Spurs draft pick Deshaun Thomas saying the 7-footer looked “unbelievable†during workouts. Yeap, He was able dominate when he was healthy, i can't denied it and that for sure, and you know that Heat need a decent center to bring apron ring protector, secure pain area. I saw some of the bits of the last seconds of the 4th quarter in their summer league game against Orlando yesterday but I got updates on how he was on fire during the whole game.
