Map_Linh 1,659
Melo could an asset to a team if he would wake up and understand he is not the number one option anymore. I think he already knows he’s not the number one option. It more about if he wants to be a bench player. That’s the whole problem with OKC. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Can't wait for it to blow up in Masai's face when the Raps get bounced out of the second round again, and Kawhi doesn't want to stay. That is, if he even plays. And now you've pissed off one of the most decorated players you've ever brought up.
Minnie._. 23,116
This was the worst move ever, They traded an all star who is loyal to a franchise that is hard to attract people even tho they got Kawhi, we all know it'll last a year till he cries and goes back to LA, Raptors want a PG13 scenario but it ain't happening anyways. They were 1st seed on east.. they could give it 1 more to year to see since their nemesis is gone, sigh can't believe they did this. Anyways I shall get my DeRozan spurs jersey now since I didn't like raptors.

Is Kawhi a better player then Demar? Yes, absolutely - that is, if he's as healthy as believed. If he isn't, then this trade is basically just Danny Green, and you've given up a first and one of the pieces of the young core in Jakub Poeltl. This is a miracle shot for the Raps management - and a lot of what I'm seeing points to it not going well at all. Truth_hurts 1,785
Security man Ralph Walker, athletic trainer Chelsea Lane leave Warriors OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors security man Ralph Walker, who in recent seasons had primarily worked closely with Stephen Curry, has departed the organization to spend more time with family. Walker confirmed his exit via text message, saying, "Will miss you all." He had been a fixture on the Golden State sidelines and almost anywhere Curry went, staying close to the two-time MVP at home and on the road. Walker is a former member of the Oakland Police Department. Also Tuesday, the Warriors said athletic trainer Chelsea Lane had departed for a job running the Atlanta Hawks' training staff. She played a key role in getting Curry back from a knee injury this postseason as the Warriors won a second straight championship and third in four years -- and Lane also worked back several other stars from late-season injuries, such as Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala. A contract extension for coach Steve Kerr is expected to be announced soon once he signs the new deal. Kerr has one year remaining on his original $25 million, five-year agreement. Kerr had planned some family travel in Europe for July. Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski last month that Kerr has agreed to a contract extension that will make him one of the NBA's highest-paid coaches Golden State also announced the re-signing of big man Kevon Looney that had been agreed to last week when free agency began. Looney, receiving a one-year deal for the minimum, averaged 4.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game and earned five postseason starts. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24061497/golden-state-warriors-lose-security-man-ralph-walker-athletic-trainer-chelsea-lane
Truth_hurts 1,785
Warriors coach Steve Kerr receives contract extension OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has received a contract extension following the franchise's repeat championship and third title in four years during his tenure. Kerr and general manager Bob Myers, who are close friends and colleagues, said when the season ended that something would get done quickly once they began formal discussions. Kerr had one year remaining on his original $25 million, five-year contract. Details of the extension were not announced Tuesday. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported late last month that the Warriors had agreed to an extension with Kerr, one that made him one of the NBA's highest-paid coaches. Golden State's announcement didn't provide terms. The 52-year-old Kerr has said he hopes to coach at least another decade and perhaps 15 years. His Warriors swept LeBron James and Cleveland in the fourth straight NBA Finals matchups between the rivals. Kerr stayed healthy and on the bench while continuing to deal with symptoms such as headaches and dizzy spells stemming from a pair of back surgeries following the 2015 title. The Warriors marked themselves as a dynasty with their latest crown. They joined Bill Russell's Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bullsled by Michael Jordan and the Lakers' trio of title runs fueled by George Mikan in the 1950s, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the `80s, and Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant nearly 20 years ago as the only franchises in NBA history to capture three championships in four years. Golden State captured the franchise's first title in 40 years during 2014-15, with Kerr as a rookie head coach. Now, the Warriors are gearing up for one more season in Oracle Arena before opening their state-of-the-art Chase Center in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighborhood in August 2019. James offered a shoutout to Kerr during the finals. "I could sit here and say today -- `Listen, Golden State is a great team ...' -- I didn't even mention their head coach," James said. "Their head coach is the one who kind of puts it all together, makes it all flow. To be able to put egos and the right position and spot on the floor where everybody feels good about the outcome and things of that nature -- when it comes to team sports, that's something that you would hope that you could be a part of." Kerr owns a 265-63 record (.808), guiding the Warriors to a record 73-win season in 2015-16 before a runner-up finish to the Cavaliers. His Warriors then went a record 16-1 during the 2017 postseason on the way to another title. read more here: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24124217/golden-state-warriors-coach-steve-kerr-receives-contract-extension
Carefree 1,145
Everyone is telling me how stupid this trade is for us but I'm not understanding what Masai did wrong here? When we got swept by the Cavs almost EVERYONE was saying how much we needed to change up the team. Masai has been making those changes, he understood that the status quo was unacceptable. We were never going to get anywhere meaningful with Casey as coach with the Lowry-DeRozan core, remember how awful the latter was against the Cavs? I adore DeRozan as a person but as a player, it was in the organization's best interests to trade him. Masai needed to make a risky move, he was right to break up a core that wasn't doing anything of significance and stall the inevitable rebuild. If Kawhi stays by some miracle then that's great, but if he doesn't then we just start the rebuild next summer instead of 2020 with our best young players (Poeltl had the lowest ceiling, OG + Siakam are the really valuable pieces) along with a bunch of cap room. It's more about what we didn't lose than what we did. Kawhi won't sit out and he should put some effort in, unless he doesn't want to maximize his earnings next summer for some reason. I'd say he still has to prove he still is as good as he was pre-injury. The only thing done wrong here imo was telling him he wouldn't be traded then do exactly that, I'm absolutely gutted about it and it makes me feel sick that such a loyal player who gave us so much was treated like that. Team should've just left it when Masai said no one was untouchable on the team. I'll miss DeRozan and I hope he's great for SA, I can't wait for him to get a standing ovation when he returns to Toronto. Definitely interested to see how Jayson Tatum balls out in his second year. Dude is a straight up scorer and he's been working out with Kobe and that one famous shooting coach during this summer so I'm mad hype for the dude. Also interested to see how Kawhi fares in Toronto. In 16 seasons with the Spurs, Ginobili captured four NBA championships while posting a career winning percentage of .721 (762-295), which is the best winning percentage in NBA history among players who have appeared in at least 1,000 games. Ginobili, who was selected by San Antonio with the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, appeared in 1,057 career games, averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.32 steals in 25.4 minutes. He is the Spurs all-time leader in three-pointers made (1,495) and steals (1,392), while ranking third in games played (1,057), fourth in assists (4,001), fourth in free throws made (3,380) and fifth in points (14,043). Ginobili was named to the All-NBA Third Team in both 2008 and 2011 and was a two-time All-Star (2005 and 2011). The 2008 NBA Sixth Man of the Year is the first sixth man, as well as the first South American, to earn All-NBA honors. The four-time NBA champion appeared in 218 career playoff games, averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.34 steals in 27.9 minutes. Ginobili and LeBron James are the only two players in NBA postseason history with at least 3,000 points and 300 three-pointers in the playoffs. One of 10 players ever to appear in over 200 playoff games, he came off the bench 165 times and is the all-time leader in NBA postseason history as a reserve in points (2,014), assists (576), rebounds (635), steals (205), field goals made (630), three-pointers made (226) and free throws made (528). Ginobili and teammate Tony Parker combined to record 132 playoff wins together, which is the most victories by any duo in postseason history. Ginobili is one of just seven players in NBA history to spend his entire career with one team while playing at least 16 seasons, along with Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, John Havlicek, Reggie Miller, Dirk Nowitzki and John Stockton. He is the first South American and just the second player drafted in the second round or later to appear in at least 1,000 games with one team. Before signing with the Spurs in the summer of 2002, Ginobili played professionally in Argentina and Italy. He was named the 2001 EuroLeague MVP after leading Virtus Bologna to the EuroLeague Championship. In addition, Ginobili was named the Italian League MVP in both 2000–01 and 2001–02. Ginobili played for the Argentinian National Team from 1998 to 2016, leading his home country to the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics, a silver medal in the 2002 FIBA World Championship and a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics. Ginobili is one of only two players in history, along with Bill Bradley, to win a EuroLeague title, an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal. https://www.nba.com/spurs/manu-ginobili-announces-retirement Edited August 27, 2018 by Truth_hurts
