One Direction World Record Breaker

One Direction have set a new world record after their first three albums debuted at number one in the US.

The band’s success in the US means they have earned a spot in the Guinness World Records 2015 book.

They are the only UK group in US chart history to top the chart with their first three releases, and made the announcement to their fans on stage at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey last month.

Niall Horan said: “This really is one of our proudest moments, both for us and our incredible fans. Whenever we talk about it we always say how cool it is that we did it first, how sick is that?!â€

The X Factor group first topped the US chart in 2012 with their debut album Up All Night, and scored their second number one later in the year with follow-up Take Me Home.

Their latest album, Midnight Memories, topped the Billboard 200 last December, and went on to sell over one million copies in five weeks.

The Guinness World Records 2015 book will be released next Thursday (September 11).

i can't dislike 1D....

as individual guys they seem alright (although i'm not too keen on Liam)... i mean especially when comparing them to other artists of similar age who have had similar levels of success and inflated egos to match....

i also think they've been handled well musically... their longevity was questionable early on...but they made a basically flawless transition from strictly teenage girl fodder to non-bubble demo relevance with one or two well timed well produced songs.

i always tip my hat to their success.

Yeah I hope they keep on giving good music. I like most of their songs.

I still remember their moments on X factor and their dairy videos , it was so fun. I really like them. I heard some rumors about them splitting up after this album & next tour. Hope its wrong :._.:

1D has worked/earned/traveled more these past four years than I probably will in my lifetime.

Even if you hate their music or crazy fanbase, you gotta give them some credit as normal lads (excl. Louis, maybe).

i am glad for them, theyre such a likable group with nice music and maintained popularity much longer than anyone expected

glad it is finally dying down though, you can tell they want/need a break

Broken record: But am I the only one that sees no musical growth in their releases; they can be lumped up into one long ass song. #congrats anyway.

im assuming you have not heard their albums

:wth:

can you compare some songs because comparing their first release to their latest is like saying one doesn't mature from elementary school to high school.
