Apple unveils 2 new iPhones: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

"Today, we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of iPhone," Apple CEO Tim Cook said at an event in Cupertino, Calif. "They are without a doubt the best iPhones we've ever done."

Apple CEO Tim Cook has launched two new iPhone iterations: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, each in a different size. 

 

The iPhone 6 has a 4.7" screen and the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5" screen; both are thinner than any iPhone before

 

CEO Tim Cook said that "today is the biggest advancement in the history of iPhone".

 

The new phones have state-of-the-art retina HD display and stronger sapphire screens and are reported to have curved edges. .They also have a faster, more energy efficient chip -- one will hopefully be useful for gaming and high-end apps while the power saving should give it more battery life, a longstanding grouse of iPhone users. The new chips are reportedly able to measuer distance as well as elevation.  

 

The iPhone6 and the iPhone 6 Plus reportedly have vertical displays for apps such as email. 

 

Apple stock jumped 90 cents, or about 0.85% ti $99.20. 

 

In a hint that Apple may also be getting into wearables, Apple announced that it was working with sports major Nike to create a Nike+ app. 

 

Apple was seeking to show that it hasn't lost its world-dazzling magic when it comes to innovation, and to shift attention from a recent celebrity photo theft scandal.

 

Apple has been customarily tightlipped ahead of the event at performing arts centre in Cupertino where late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs introduced the Macintosh computer 30 years ago.

 

Apple is fine-tuning a new mobile operating system that could allow for mobile payments and includes a health platform.

Why do you guys want small phones for..? Bigger phones are better, that was really the only reason why I made a switch from the iPhone to Samsung (that an battery life, but there rearly isn't that much of a difference).

 

you guys keep asking for smaller and smaller phones but better performances and battery life. It just.. It baffles me, because that's just absurd.

Because it's getting to the point where iPhones are just iPads with texting and calling capabilities...?

And, ya know, preference.

I personally don't want a giant brick in my pocket but w/e.

The 4s was perfect to me.

Perfect size, the battery was fine, screen was good.

But it's probably close to becoming obsolete and I didn't like the 5s much at all :/
