  1. You both missed the parts where I said 'sometimes' and 'occasionally' lmao although I should've maybe said rarely but couldn't think of that word when I wrote it But also I stand by what I said that Eunice is better than Jooeun (who is my DIA fave btw, she gorgeous). Better sense of support, larger comfortable range (I mean this in the sense of a weak vocalist's comfortable range though) and she isn't actually that nasal? Jooeun goes more nasal in her high range that Eunice imo.
  2. Pretty sure Eunice is the best, then Jooeun who has some support. Eunchae has shallow support occasionally, and she is sometimes relaxed around C5. Dunno if I've ever heard Yebin support.
  3. I think she came from a musical theatre background? But like way back when she was a kid. I think she's generally a good vocalist, but some of her highest high notes (like Eb5-ish and above) get a bit screamy, but since I haven't paid extreme attention it could be a stylistic thing. I remember seeing an unedited video of her recording 'Still Into You' in the studio. She like, never sings the high notes in the chorus live though, pretty sure she sang it for the recording and then that was it lmao Video under spoiler:
  4. I now feel like I have to preface everything I say with: 'I'm a soprano who always had an easy time in my lower register' but I do find it so weird how sopranos struggle to support around the area where they speak. It makes more sense that you would struggle in your higher register because it's really easy to have a bad approach there but for your lower range you really mostly just need to relax and keep your approach the same as before, otherwise you'll have poor sound quality. Plus obviously also actually practicing in it and not just focusing on high notes. Anyway Hayley Williams is definitely a soprano. You may be confusing her with someone else? But the Hayley Williams who is the singer of Paramore is a soprano. By the way is Paramore even a thing anymore?? They lost like three members and now the remaining two members are just Hayley's travelling band or something lmao
  5. On second thought - could also be a spinto, but in all honesty that's the subtype I know the least about. I'm not really sure what the difference between a spinto and a dramatic soprano would be, even with the knowledge from wikipedia that spinto is somewhere between dramatic and lyric. Where is C.Y when I need him??? Might PM him lmao
  6. Yeah I was that person, but I'm not a mezzo and not a full soprano either. I also don't fit into lyric soprano - I'm most likely a dramatic since Falcon soprano is not actually a real voice type. But yeah like the general consensus here I think G3 should be a given for a trained soprano, and an F#3 or an F3 is good.
  7. Tbh I think Jungkook is underrated (because imo contrary to what the blog says he has displayed being capable of non-airiness plenty of times which shows he doesn't use it as a crutch and my vocal teacher agrees) but I don't think he is quite at average anyway. He'd probably be weak to average at best according to the blog because he has a certain range that he likes to stick to. His head voice is also not the best. However I do think he is better than V, who is currently stated as best in BTS on the blog - at least if I remember correctly.
  8. You make a fair point, but I suppose in general I meant the original comment more for contemporary singers anyway. Like a large reason why that note sounds that full is because she's lowering her larynx quite a bit. I disagree here. I think G3 should be a given, but I'll give in on an F3 maybe being a stretch for a standard well-trained soprano. Also a note for both of you: I'm probably being at least partially biased since I'm a soprano who always had an easy time in my lower range.
  9. Man I was away for a couple of months and some shit really happened on here

  10. If you're advising against aspirin you should also advise against ibuprofen, since they're both blood thinners. Realistically you could take aspirin so long as you're not under 18 as it can cause deadly Reye's Syndrome. In adults however it's perfectly safe and helpful.
  11. G3 is a very standard low note for a good soprano to be able to sing though?? Like I'm pretty sure F3 or F#3 is where a trained soprano should be able to sing down to? As a soprano, that's what I've heard from many teachers.
  12. She makes it sound way lower than it actually is lmao like it's only a G3
  13. It's just the same as when people think anything below middle C is amazing for a soprano to be able to sing.
  14. Never said everything he says is wrong? He does have a tendency to only hear what he wants to hear though, I can point out several circumstances where everybody else didn't hear something that he thought he heard and vice versa, which is quite strange. It's therefore beyond reasonable doubt that he does it out of bias.
  15. We never pretended it didn't happen though? It's just that it was never brought up? Whenever people do bring stuff that was wrong up those whom said it usually admit that they were wrong??? Whereas @KoreaxxLove never admits to being wrong even when people point out stuff that is wrong?????? I mean you never even fully recanted everything you said about LSH when like, at least 75% of it was wrong. Like if we're delusional you're equally as delusional
  16. He is. He also made that LSH analysis video that is honestly almost hilarious. Don't bother arguing with him, he hears whatever he wants to hear, when he wants to hear it.
  17. A. Yeah I agree with not typing contemporary singers beyond the basic soprano, mezzo, tenor etc. B. Full lyric is very much a real voice type though... did you mean you would prefer to not type that in contemporary singers?
  18. DUDE I relate to this so hard, every time we have lab worksheets while we're dissecting, they'll ask us dumb questions that we've never been taught about and also aren't in the textbooks. Like, off the top of my head, when we did lung dissections and they asked what the frothy liquidy stuff inside the lungs is called and what it's for... like fucking mucous??? Idfk?????
  19. I'M BACK ERRYBODY DID YOU MISS ME? NO??? Anyway was nice to read the, like, 20 pages of stuff that I'd missed. Saw some stuff. Read a couple of arguments and a few debates. 'Twas fun. Gotta say you kinda blew my mind by saying Elvis was a tenor, I've never even actually consciously thought about the fact that I assumed he was a baritone because it was that obvious to me but oh how wrong I was apparently.
  20. Does extreme fear of death and the entire idea of it count into anxiety bc like I am almost daily panicking over dying one day and that seems less like a fear and more like anxiety... urgh idk my life

    1. Essencellie

      Essencellie

OMG same... I have a fear of death and once as a young child I cried about it, it now just gets worse and worse...

  21. I'm sorry this is OT but HOLY SHIT ARE YOU KIDDING ME HE'S OVER AN ENTIRE FOOT TALLER THAN ME HE MUST BE TERRIFYING IN THAT CLOWN OUTFIT
  22. Suho's more consistent though, and way less nasal than Xiumin. They're probably pretty equal.
  23. Suho pretty much never supports, tbh he's not even much better than the sub-vocalists in exo but stans push him as lead vocal skill level.
  24. Wait I just saw this and... what the fuck is that circle and what does it mean? Where do you start reading? Where do you stop playing the neverending loop and what... I mean I have a lot of questions
