ofc he became popular, cos Mnet shove him on every chance they get, and by then, people start noticing him and then like him.
This show is all about screentime, Daniel was nobody before the excessive screentime on him.
All I'm saying is, we all are at Mnet's mercy, they can make us think we pick the trainee by ourselves, but it's not true.
and fyi, i don't have grudge against Mnet, I simply hate them
Daniel started getting popular only after his sorry sorry fancam blew up; no one took him as a serious competitor before then. Mnet (being mnet) loves to show any drama they can get, and Daniel seems to always be part of the drama (bad leader, cat scandal, terrible onsite eval, etc), so that's why he's has more screentime.
Although I agree screentime plays a huge factor to who gets picked, there are cases where some trainees get very little time but rank high (Jihoon, Baejin, Sewoon), and some that got a lot of time but ranked lower than expected given their screentime (Moonbok, Hyunbin, Geonhee, Woodam). Yes, we are at mnet's mercy when it comes to screentime, but it seems like (at least for season 2) a lot of public opinion comes from fandom hyping up some trainees/destroying other trainees online (hence why trainees like Yehyun and Sunghyuk suddenly rose and why others like Youngmin, Hyungseob and Haknyeon dropped), which affects voting.
Anyways, I doubt mnet will be fairer/nicer this season, so rather than deal with conspiracy theories about mnet, let's just enjoy this season (or try at least )

there, fixed it.
Not saying that survival shows aren’t 0% rigged or anything (seeing as some results from past shows seem a bit sketchy) but once the show is over, you can kind of see who’s actually popular or not, and Daniel and W1 still have a lot of support even after a lot of the hype died down for a lot of the other contestants.
Just bcuz you seem to have a grudge against mnet (i think we all do >.<), you shouldn’t degrade the efforts they put to get to where they are now

I think it’s a marketing strategy to reel the public in. they’re showing how an unknown trainee went from a nobody to a huge superstar and at the end of his segment, the caption said “National Producers, would you like to cheer for someone’s dream once again?†To me, it seems like mnet is telling the public that they have the power to change someone’s life, doesn’t it feel great to help him? Don’t you want to help make someone else’s life better? If so, go watch/vote/support produce 48

This is kind of a dream but I was thinking why not an extended Wanna One sub-unit type of group? Comprising the hyung line - Daniel, Jisung, Ong, and Jaehwan. (Minhyun should and will return to NUEST I think.) I think the remaining hyung line would be better together as a group. This group doesn't need to promote together often, but I think they might be more popular together (which would help their own individual activities)?
Daniel - While I love him a lot and his singing voice a lot, I'm not sure he can pull off a whole solo performance? With Ong and Jaehwan as vocals the group could put up very good performances.
Jisung - likely only has 1-2 years before he has to go to the army. While he has a lot of variety sense, I'm not sure he has so much popularity with the general public that he would remain popular after army. With a sub-unit type of group, the group can maintain the interest for longer I think.
Ong - Unless Fantagio puts him into Surprise U, I don't think there is a natural boy group they can fit him into. Like Daniel, I'm not sure he can pull off solo type of promotions. Ong probably has the most potential for a solo career in acting. But in my dreams, he could pursue acting and still have time for on-off group type of promotions?
Jaehwan - While I love his singing voice and talent, as a solo singer it may be difficult for him to differentiate himself from the many male solo singers out there.
I probably spent too much time analyzing something that is only a dream haha. Too much coordination between agencies for this to happen. But still wish it would come true...
I was actually thinking about this recently. My fangirl delu would be if OngNielHwan formed a trio (I really want to include Jisung but looking at it realistically, he doesn't have much time after w1 to promote in a group, and I don't think it would be a good idea to debut a group and then have 1 member leave for 2 years not long after debut
).My wish is for MMO and fantagio to form a parntership (kind of like star*ship and yue*hua with w*jsn) and since Jaehwan is under cj (which is the parent company of mmo), I hoping they'll lend them Jaehwan too... then we can have OngNielHwan as a group...
....But I know the possibility of that happening is like 0.000000000001%......... but I'll keep clinging to that percent until reality slaps me in the face............

I believe Minhyun is actually a closet Peach, and he is doing what every Peach does in the presence of a Daniel poster irl: weep over its beautiful magnificence and utter holiness at the fact that you were able to be blessed by its presence

does mucore and inkigayo has the same rules as mnet where no promotion no trophy? if not, then they still can win the trophies next week with/without attending.
Not sure about music core, but I think they can win in inkigayo without attending since ioi won twice on inkigayo even tho they were banned from it

She’s so pretty! She’s one of the two that left an impression on me visually. I really like her visuals; it reminds me of Doyeon - large eyes, full lips and more top model-like features rather than the soft-looking features that a lot of kpop visuals have
