Tbh Only well established (I'm talking SNSD, BIG BANG, 2NE1 level) groups could release ballads and achieve success, otherwise solo singers usually reign supreme in the ballad category.

Aww watching old SNSD eps makes me miss 2009-2010. Everything was so warm and fuzzy back then (not just the video quality LOL). I think they could definitely bring it back since the New generation of Kpop has started - groups like GFriend, BTS, Twice, RV, Seventeen etc. would spark a lot of interest and would bring the ratings back up.

Anyone else wishing upon a star for GFriend to have their own variety show? It would be so cool to see them and other groups in a resurgence of the 'Golden Era' variety shows e.g Intimate Note, Strong Heart, Hello Baby etc.

Yessss 100k! So proud of our girlies!! I might get flack for this but they seriously remind me of KARA back in the day. From a small company to becoming one the top 5 GGs (SNSD, 2NE1, T-ARA, WG). From the Fingertip teaser, it sounds similar to KARA's earlier releases pre-Mister. They both have their iconic and often times intense *sweats* choreography and I think they might even have a hidden variety talent with either Yerin, Sowon or SinB (anyone remember Gyuri's hilarious "Goddess" persona?). Comparisons aside, I know GFriend will make their own mark on the industry and be known as GFriend not the second coming of *insert 2nd gen group here*. slayfriend here to stay

This RV hate is rushing into OH like a tsunami and ruining it for everyone who just wants to enjoy the new music. I prefer not getting into beef with trolls but I honestly can't help but think that some of these trolls are people from other fandoms who are insecure about their bias group's standing and are shocked at the potential Rookie has to be a hit in Korea.

On the real though, the Rookie album was a pleasant surprise. You have your orchestra backed OST ballad Last Love (really impressed with Wendy's emotive vocals), Body Talk is a mellow synth-pop track with lush harmonies and a dark undertone (you think it's about secksy times but it's actually reading someone's body language when they're lying lol), Talk To Me is a nice homage to Ariana Grande's pop RnB and I can also sense some Mary J Blige "Real Love" influences. Happily Ever After is peppy and bright and I like unconventional chorus and staggered beat. Little Little is very warm and sweet and it wouldn't be out of place on a Urban Zakapa album or in a coffee house.

Ok, taking in some suggestions from others here, I see "Red" is a common theme and I agree with it - its RV's most popular image and its shows the boldness and strength of not only the girls but their fans as well. Since their talent and music put anyone under a spell, I thought about Red Hexes/Red Hex, but idk if that's too witchy/dark? It can appeal to both male and female fans, because Hearts could be too girly. So Red Hex combined meaning is "power magic"? HAHA I'm so uncreative so plz don't neg me
