Why am I having a feeling that Yoo Jin Oh is the spirit of the Chicago typewriter.
YJO was shocked and surprised when he got caught by HSJ like he didn't;t expect HSJ to see him.
Nice theory but Gal Si Jeok can see him though.
Maybe he sorta likes goblin? who didn't die and stay young ever since the Japanese occupation times. Then visiting his old friends who been incarnated. Notice he uses the old typewriter instead of laptop and he can write the story from Han Se Jo past life too.

tvN Reveals Vintage Posters For “Chicago Typewriter†Starring Yoo Ah In, Im Soo Jung, And Go Kyung Pyo
tvN’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Chicago Typewriter†released a group poster and individual posters of the three main characters.
In the group poster, Go Kyung Pyo is hard at work with his typewriter, while behind him hangs a picture of the three characters 80 years ago. The same typewriter that Go Kyung Pyo is using is also in the framed picture, and the text reads, “A miracle of love that begins with an old typewriter.†The mysterious poster is triggering curiosity in many potential viewers
The individual character posters are also worth a look. Yoo Ah In has manuscript paper scattered around him as he plays Han Se Joo, a popular writer who falls into a slump.Im Soo Jung shows off a lovely smile while holding a novel in her arms as she plays Jeon Seol, a novel maniac. Go Kyung Pyo is looking dapper in his suit, and he plays Yoo Jin Oh, a ghost writer hiding behind a famous writer.
The production team explained, “The fated relationship between the three characters will begin when an old typewriter arrives at famous writer Yoo Jin Oh (Go Kyung Pyo) in 2017. The picture of them 80 years ago plays an important role in the storyline. Look forward to finding out how they meet in the present and in the past.â€

more about kwang si yang's character
On March 23, actor Kwak Si Yang’s management agency, Starhaus Entertainment, released a statement saying, “Kwak Si Yang will be taking on the role of popular writer Baek Tae Min in the upcoming drama ‘Chicago Typewriter,’ which will air on April 7.â€Kwak Si Yang’s character Baek Tae Min is a writer who is as equally gifted as Yoo Ah In’s character Han Se Joo. The two are both acknowledged as the nation’s most valued and charismatic writers; however, Kwak Si Yang’s character is also a jealous rival of Yoo Ah In’s character, much like how Antonio Salieri was jealous of Mozart in the film “Amadeus.â€
The actor explained why he chose this role and said, “The story is very exciting and the subject matter is unusual. Plus, each character has their own unique story that really brings them to life.â€
Kwak Si Yang will be starring alongside the aforementioned actor Yoo Ah In, as well as Im Soo Jung and Go Kyung Pyo. tvN has released a number of teasers that are heightening anticipation for the drama.

Actor Go Kyung Pyo has transformed into a ghost writer for tvN’s upcoming drama, “Chicago Typewriter†(tentative title). On March 15, the “Chicago Typewriter†staff revealed a photo from the drama shoot on Instagram.
Above anything else, Go Kyung Pyo’s visual transformation stands out. He is wearing a classic suit and looks as handsome as ever. The thick fog paints a mysterious atmosphere as well, which goes perfectly with his role as a ghost writer.

On March 15, a source from the production crew explained, “Im Soo Jung felt pain in her knee while filming a running scene, so she made a visit to the hospital. [The injury] is not serious, but we are being considerate of her while filming to avoid worsening her condition.â€

Chicago Typewriter courts Kwak Shi-yang to be Yoo Ah-in’s rival

KBS’s upcoming fantasy-human-romantic-comedy Chicago Typewriter still hasn’t confirmed any leads yet—potential castings include Yoo Ah-in (Six Flying Dragons), Im Soo-jung (Time Renegades), and Go Kyung-pyo (Jealousy Incarnate)—but we get to throw Kwak Shi-yang’s (Mirror of the Witch, Second to Last Love) name into the mix as another possible addition.
The drama mixes fantasy elements into its contemporary storyline of a bestselling author (the role out to Yoo Ah-in) who hits a severe slump and hires a ghostwriter (possibly to be played by Go Kyung-pyo); the two men and the author’s former fan and now biggest anti-fan (the role offered to Im Soo-jung) share a curious connection amongst themselves and with an old typewriter. Moreover, the main characters are reincarnations of writers who struggled through hard lives in the 1930s, during the time of the Japanese Occupation.
Kwak Shi-yang is up to play a novelist and professor who is the hero’s rival. The hero is a wildly popular bestseller who’s described as something of a Korean Stephen King, and Kwak’s character feels quite jealous of him and also suffers an inferiority complex. He’s the only son of a famous writer and prominent figure in the South Korean literary world, which no doubt contributes to that attitude. The character will form a love triangle with the hero and the anti-fan heroine (so it sounds like the ghostwriter won’t be a romantic competitor, or at least not a significant one).
Kwak Shi-yang is pretty new to the scene, having debuted in the 2014 film Night Flight, which he followed with a small role in SBS weekender Feel-Good Day. I thought him very strong as the romantic lead in the upbeat music drama Persevere, Gu Hae-ra, though admittedly I haven’t liked him as much since that show (he was a junior chef in Oh My Ghostess, a possessive brother in fantasy sageuk Mirror of the Witch, and a younger love interest in Second to Last Love). But I do think he has appeal, and overall, this drama is looking at such a strong cast that I’m clinging to my high hopes for it.
The reincarnation aspect is the element that I don’t quite know what to make of, although I think this writer, Jin Soo-wan, is one who knows how to mix fantasy into the everyday. Her previous show The Moon That Embraces the Sun was more overtly fantastical, but Kill Me, Heal Me was an example of something that felt surreal but wasn’t exactly outside of the realm of reality. Directing is PD Kim Chul-kyu of On the Way to the Airport, which drew praise for its directorial finesse.
Chicago Typewriter plans to begin shooting at the end of February and will air on Fridays and Saturdays as tvN’s next weekend drama, following time-traveling romantic thriller Tomorrow With You.
