also what do you guys think of bogum and tae's relationship? they both gay tbh, but i think they're just friends personally and they may have dated in the past
I don't think they're dating at all, but I do think they are very good friends and it's possible they may have attempted to date or had some small thing in the past but at the moment I think they're just friends, imo, maybe they tried it but decided being friends was better, all I know is I don't think they have anything romantic going on
I was talking with my friend today and the whole "statistics" aspect of LGBT+ came up.
I hate how people act like it's delusional to think that there's more than 1 gay person in a KPop group.
In high school, my friend group was probably around 10 people and only 4 were straight.
In college, I have a huge social group, but only have around 6 people I consider real friends. In those 6 people, only 2 people are straight. We didn't become friends because of our sexuality either. We became friends, and then we realized: Wow, most of us are not straight.
Based on statistics is not accurate, because a group of 5 friends may have 0 LGBT+ people, and another group of 5 friends may have 3 LGBT+ people. Real life just does not follow statistics.
I agree it's unrealistic to say "9/10 members of this group are gay" but I also think that it shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility of there being more than 1-2 LGBT+ people in a group.
Also, bigger group doesn't mean more chances of there being more LGBT people. A group with 5 members could have 3-4 LGBT, and a group of 10 could have just 1-2, maybe even 0. It's honestly too random.
Statistically yes only 1 in X amount of people will be LGBT+, however that is when looking at the population as a whole. Kpop is split up into smaller groups and it's too random how these groups are put together, so like 3/5 of one group could be LGBT, and 0/10 of one group could be.
I'm sorry if it's a long ass rant but I just hate how because of "statistics" it's assumed each group can only have, like, at most 2 LGBT+ members.
Especially since some companies are more public about their support of LGBT+ so maybe some LGBT people are more drawn to become trainees under certain companies. Which would again skew statistics because some LGBT people may go to certain companies that have a rep for being more open/accepting/liberal in Korea.

Maybe the next comeback is space themed?!?!? Their next comeback will be out of this world!!!

Are there any translations of the names on the 'Credits' portion of the Wings album? Some names are in Korean and I wanted to know who they were.
-
I just love Taehyung so much
-
Jiwoo is my bae and Oh Na Na Na is the bop of my life
-
I loved Secret actually and I was waiting for another comeback before stanning but I Wish was really really good
I like that they don't downright do a cutesy concept but they make it fantasy/whimsical and more mature
I'm a pretty new fan, I've been watching the cosmic diaries and so far, I think my bias is Yeunjung, Xuan Yi, Eunseo, Mei Qi, Dawon, Seola...It's so hard to choose lol
If anyone has any varieties or reality show besides the diaries, I'd love to watch them
Just wanted to say hi, and they are really talented and unique. I really wish they will go far

You're basically accusing Jackson of queerbaiting. No matter how you spin it, you're saying Jackson knows what fans like so everything he has said or done is inspired by his desire to please and hype up fans and basically Fanservice. Aka, queerbaiting.Unpopular opinion but I believe that Jackson is straight. Yes, he gets touchy with men, pretends to kiss them and has some "questionable" statements, and if I say now "but that is it really prove anything" I know it sounds wrong but it should prove much more than most of stuff we all write here about others lol but still, Jackson is fluent in english, in touch with the fandom (most of got7 are tbh) and he knows what is liked and hyped. I do not claim that Jackson does it /only/ as fanservice, but he knows what do people want and what do people like. I still believe he is very open minded, but for some reason I do not believe that his comfty interactions with men must mean that he swings that way.
Here is why I disagree
I don't follow Got7 but I do know a lot about Jackson and how outgoing he is, I get his personality type. Here's the thing.
especially because Jackson knows English and connects with international fans a lot, I think that only makes it more likely that he is bisexual. Jackson is definitely the fanservice type, he does a lot of it for the fans enjoyment. But the amount of things he says and the way he acts around men who are NOT his group members, really shows that it's not all for Fanservice.
Logically speaking, why would he be so obvious with men outside of Got7 members? If it was fanservice, fans don't really get enjoyment from that sort of thing unless it's skinship among the members/group.
Jackson knows English and he comes from a place where being LGBT+ is generally accepted, at least more so than Korea, and a lot of his international fans are younger fans who are very accepting of LGBT+ and even encourage it (though there is still lots of homophobia, this generation is so much more accepting, the "tumblr generation" is especially and they're the loudest online so it's likely Jackson sees that).
So if Jackson knows this, maybe his obvious flirting and love of men who are not Got7 members (meaning it's not fanservice) is because he sort of wants I-fans to know or is hinting towards it.
Basically, it just doesn't make sense to me to say Jackson is straight on the basis that most of his interactions are fanservice since he knows what fans like since he speaks English and is very connected to the fandom. Because a lot of the "receipts" on Jackson, are of Jackson with men outside of Got7 members....which wouldn't work for Fanservice because fans only really care about group ships for fanservice

Have you watched any of the LOONA tv episodes yet?

Not yet, link?
Your username tells everything about Loona tbh.
TBH
-
Hey guys
I admit when I first heard Loona I didn't see what was special about them, but I didn't finish the first song. Today I wen back and listened to ViViD and all the new songs from Hyunjun, Haseul, Heejin, and all their songs together, and I fell in love. Something about them stuck to me, I really like their music and the vibe they give off, it's like I can feel their charming and bubbly personalities even without seeing them really speak or talk
I bought their song on Itunes and when I have some more money (broke college student here, lol) I'll buy all their stuff, but I know they are pretty new and I wanted to join this thread and talk about them since they are not so big yet.
Haseul's voice is probably one of my favorite in KPop it is just so beautiful. I like the vibe Heejin gives me she's really...bright, bubbly. And Hyunjin is so cute and soft lol.
imo it's going to be hard picking a bias and so far we only know 3. So far I really love all their music, I can't imagine how good the real debut will be

I am really emo about the fact that I probably won't get tickets for BTS's Chicago concert and I know it's dramatic but it makes me want to cry because what the actual fuck they are my inspiration everyday and half the reason I haven't shot myself and turned into a total bitch even though I still am a bitch what the fuck why did I move to America I could have stayed in fucking Korea
-
if your mom/dad works at company they will have highest. or ANY friends mom dad relative cousin who has business internet connection.
I would help you out my boyfriend has really fast one but we are strangers+different continent :(
awww.but you dont need to skip classes. isnt the concert on weekend? o:
My friends connections....are all lower....than mine....
I am so emo you guys
-
well thats a bit ..lowish. its not THAT bad tho'!
im not saying your internet is bad or its impossible to get tickets with that speed, but i would still find someone who has higher- just to be safe
u still have time to find someone !
I'm asking all my friends and family what their internet connection speed is lmao
I'm desperate af
-
like i posted on your thread.
how fast is your internet connection?regardeless if its phone or pc?
if its lower than 30-50mbps go try to ask someone who has 100mbps to use theirs because its gonna load much much faster and your chances are going to be higher.
as normal internet user u might not see the HUGE difference between it, but when the chaos starts, connection will play a big role.
if u dont have anyone, ask someone who is working at some company pc. companies usually have very high connection speed.
thats all i can say, because thats the method im going to use if bts actually comes to Europe.
the thirst will be real because EU isnt something thats highly desireable under kpop stars so whole continent will wanna go.
xD
I just did a speed test and got 12 mpb.....I AM GOING TO CRY

It may not be harder, but it's the last US date going on sale to the general public, and it's only one date versus two at the other locations. I think people who may been holding out hoping for locations closer to them may pounce on Chicago. I said on your other thread, but I will repeat here - download the Ticketmaster app. In my experience, we always got seats faster (and better ones) using the app versus the website.
Bless your beautiful, sweet heart and soul
-
r/Bangtan link. People have also advised looking at what scalpers are offering closer to the day bc prices will go down. I saw your thread and if I try for Chicago I'm going to be screwed too.
Is Chicago harder than the rest? Damn it I will cry....
-
They are sold out on Ticketmaster, but you can probably find people selling them for face value on stubhub or r/bangtan on reddit. I know for a fact that we have 3 extra tickets (p2 seated) to the Newark show on Thursday, 3/23 just because two of us bought tickets for our group and currently trying to sell. I think it's the same with Anaheim. So, just keep an eye out.
Thank you
I am freaking out, like I neeed to get tickets lmao I can't allow myself miss this chance
Chicago tickets go on sale Friday at 4 PM CST, right?
-
Bighit thinks they are being slick because they give the boys hats to cover up their hair color...
you don't fool me

cr?
Same but I hope they rest I mean they've literally been working nonstop

His words are so genuine and wise
Like you can tell it's genuine and so sweet and coming form his heart, his words are very wise and strong, thank you for existing RapMon and BTS, and these words were always much needed for me<3
I haven't been in here before lol, hi guys....I'm Snatched....my biases are TaeJin especially Taehyungie but I am a trash for all seven of them and love them above anything else
Does anyone know if tickets for their Anaheim concert are sold out already? I tried and could only see the Platinum tickets.

I know this is disappointing to hear but I'm going through these threads and again as someone who did grow up in that country (I took a summer class at SAB in America when I was a teenager, stayed in America for a year at that ballet school, went back to Korea, then a year later came back and have been here since I was 16 in order to finish HS here and go to college) A LOT of these popular ships and interactions are just so....platonic. Like, exactly the sort of thing I did with my best friends and the sort of skinship that is so common in Korea.
These are my thoughts, I did go through this thread and watch some variety to help give input about non-bias groups.
Red Velvet
Seulgi- Straight. In fact I am almost the most confident about her being straight in the group besides Irene, she doesn't give any vibes at all, but she does seem like a very accepting, open person, probably an ally, especially considering her and Wendy's relationship. But yeah Seulgi is very straight to me, her skinship and reactions are normal, she seems very unaffected by girls, nothing out of the ordinary.
Wendy- Gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do I even have to explain? Lol I swear this girl isn't even trying to hide it, she's literally in a glass closet at this point, and she did grow up in Canada so I bet she's accepted and known about her sexuality, she probably knows that her I-fans know too.
Joy- Bicurious. She is definitely into guys but I get a lot of vibes from her that she's at the very least thinking she might be interested in girls too, again I am not saying she is but I think she's very much bicurious. Mostly her reaction to Wendy's obvious infatuation for her. Rather than find it weird or react neutral to it, Joy is obviously flattered and seems to enjoy the attention a lot, also her reaction when Wendy didn't pick her- maybe she was kidding but I do think she enjoys attention....from girls specifically. She seems like she wants a stronger girl crush image and she's popular on Pann (read: has a lot of fangirls), maybe she just likes attention but I do think she seeks and likes attention from both males and females and it reads to be as bicurious.
Yeri- Straight, bicurious at best, she's still young so she may be unsure and undecided but generally I think she is straight....at one point I thought she was asexual...maybe too young.
Irene- Straight or bisexual and in denial and/or confusion. I know she seems straight and I agree but I've seen her react in some questionable ways and her touching girls butts does not help. Also, her whole "I think I have to marry a man" for me that seems like something someone who is unsure about their sexuality/unable to accept it would say. If she was confident and straight she probably would just laugh it off or go along with it as a joke, or say "I can't marry a girl" but idk the way she handled it came off to me as her panicking and/or getting thrown off by the action. I can see her being one of those girls who is very heavily leaning towards guys but does once in a blue moon end up having feelings for females too.
Black Pink
Jisoo- Sadly she doesn't ping me. I thought she would but she comes off to me as straight despite being a tomboy. She seems to be a very easygoing and relaxed person around everyone. But BP has NO MATERIAL besides like one Weekly Idol so it's nearly impossible. This is just the vibe I get so far I do think she may be open though, to try new things? Maybe pan.
Lisa- Straight, again just no vibes at all.
Jennie- In my opinion the straightest one...
Rose- I think she likes guys but it's possible she may like girls since I do get a slight vibe but overall I think she's really straight too
So far I don't think any gay/bi/pan in BP but we have very little to go off of....
Twice
I can only speak for the girls I sort of followed.
Nayeon- I think she is so confusing. She obviously has a crush on either Momo or Jeongyeon in my opinion, it gets confusing since those three stick together a lot but I think she has a thing for Jeongyeon, she just....she acts like I did when I had a crush on one of my female best friends. Clingy, follows her around, likes to tease, but most of all what makes me notice it is the way she looks at her, laughs....Nayeon is already really extra and loud in personality, but she amps it up around Jeongyeon. It's hard to describe but I remember I acted exactly like she did around my crush who was my female close/best friend. Also she seems uninterested in guys sometimes but then other times it's obvious she likes them. I have to go with pansexual or bi with a lean towards guys.
Jeongyeon- Straight as a ruler lol she is very caring to others and a total girl crush but she doesn't seem affected by girls, girls are always swooning over her and while she enjoys the fans and their feelings she doesn't seem flustered or affected by all the girls swooning over her, or all the touching, she also gets shy around guys and flustered I think so straight
I see a bit of Momo and Mina and either Mina is a clingy friend and Momo is just cold to her, or Mina has a crush and Momo doesn't know what to do. I get the same vibes from Mina as Nayeon and I actually think Momo hasn't really shown interest much in either gender but I do think Momo is gay because she seems to avoid ideal type questions or be awkward around them like Wendy.
I don't follow Twice too close so sorry. The rest all seem straight to me, especially Sana and Dahyun and Jihyo and Tzuyu....Chaeyoung seems bicurious she gives me a vibe that she's experimental.
IOI
Pinky shows up a lot in this thread along with Sejeong, Somi, Nayoung, Doyeon and Yoojung. Let me say, first of all that Pinky does NOT do anything our of the ordinary in terms of skinship. All her skinship with Nayoung is very platonic and reminds me exactly of my friends and our skinship, I just see her skinship with Nayoung and others especially, as being so very....platonic. Especially considering her friendly personality she seems very friendly and exactly the type to do skinship. Nothing she has done is suspiscious, sorry to say, especially the touching Nayoung's leg thing- that is not at all suspicious.
Sejeong, I do think she is indeed lesbian. Somi is young but she seems very open and even bisexual to me, she definitely likes guys but I'm almost willing to bet she likes girls just as much. As for Doyeon, Yoojung, Nayoung, they are all very straight. Especially Yoojung and Nayoung. Doyeon could surprise us. Pinky, also, is very very straight to me. All her skinship, reactions and interactions are perfectly in line and expected from her personality. Nothing she has done is out of ordinary for cultural standards, at all.
Mamamoo
I thought Wheein was straight but then apparently she said "preference as same sex" (I saw a screencap) so who knows. This group is a bit extra in terms of skinship, they exaggerated it even by Korea standard, however a lot of the extra stuff is on stage so it doesn't change anything anyway but since they're so comfortable wih it I'm inclined to say Hwasa is straight or bi- she is very comfortable with skinship, is all over everyone, seems generally unaffected by anything which means she either likes guys or she's a "anything goes" person. Moonbyul...seems like the most obvious gay....bu I actually think Solar is the most obvious gay/most likely. She went on WGM right? I watched just one episode, maybe I need to see more. But actually I got into Mamamoo after watching Solar on WGM, because she seemed soooo gay to me I was like "Get this poor girl out of this show, she is so gay it hurts" maybe it was just Eric but their entire relationship was so painfully non-romantic and so platonic. They were like good friends the whole time and it was like they both friendzoned each other lol. She didn't seem to enjoy the skinship, she cringed from it but wasn't flustered by it- basically, it's almost like she's so gay that skinship with guys is appalling for her. After watching some more Mamamoo stuff I'm still not sure about Moonbyul because she just seems like a charming, flirty girl but it doesn't seem too serious but I have come to the conclusion that she is also, indeed, gay, in my opinion.
Those are my thoughts, maybe someone will enjoy reading them.

In the day to day life, is skinship a frequent thing or is it just occasional? How do people react to 'out' people? Do they just speak behind your back or do they straight up make comments in front of you because korea is all about avoiding confrontation?
My answer and experience to this is below in spoiler since it's sort of long.
"Is skinship a frequent thing or is it just occasional?"
It depends on your group of friends and individual of course how close you are. Some people were raised in different families/environments and there are usually two sorts of people (generally), those who are very familiar with skinship, and those who are not and get quite stiff or awkward with it. It is pretty common and frequent among close friends or friend groups, but more subtle/not as exaggerated as it is among kpop groups (but that's normal for fanservice). People don't usually, for example, grope each other so much as kpop groups do, and the kissing on the cheek or play kissing is also not as frequent, but it's common enough that people don't make a big deal of it.
Generally I think the frequency of skinship depends on the person/group but overall it's pretty common everyday, usually at least some skinship happens but during "downtime" like freetime on when hanging out, however it is more subtle than what you see with idols. Personally, I did a lot of skinship with my friends, and the most common for girls is things like: Backhug, head/arm on shoulder, making kissing faces at each other, linked arms. Holding hands is pretty common but not as much as the others (usually we link arms more), and kissing on the cheek is not as common either since there's not much reason but it does happen just definitely more rare. I did a lot of backhugging with my friends lol
For guys, it's different but they tend to "cuddle" more for example, they put their heads on each other's laps a lot more, they just tend to be closer in a sense of walking closer together and such but don't "link" as much (hold hands is a lot more rare and backhugs are actually not so common, idols are the ones who exaggerate backhugs a lot for boy groups, it's common for girls more)
"How do people react to 'out' people?"
This is hard because honestly nobody comes out lol. It is very very very rare. In America what I noticed is that, while coming out is not "common" per say, there is usually at least 1 "out" kid in a school. In Korea it's not like that. There were no "out" kids in my middle school or high school, there were rumors of a girl being lesbian and a guy being gay.
Rumors are common with this sort of thing actually, and what happens is if someone is arousing suspicion, there are heavy rumors about them and people tend to treat them somewhat warily and awkwardly. The guy in my school had the rumor about him because someone saw him kissing another guy (and kissing is generally not considered "ok" in the rules of skinship, idols who kiss onstage are somewhat given a pass because of fanservice/they are idols, but most friends do not kiss on the lips), and he was not bullied or outcast but everyone stared at him, whispered....it's like they aren't trying to be mean or confrontational, but they also want to avoid the kid and not associate with him as much. At my school there was no bullying but it was was actually the teachers who confronted the boy and he was talked to by the teacher, I obviously wasn't in the room but I heard some kids say the teacher lectured him and scolded him and told him to get in his right mind or something. Even though it was just a rumor, the teachers heard about it too.
This generation is definitely A LOT more accepting, but a lot of kids my age and in my schools were still kind of awkward about the concept. The new generation is a lot more open and accepting, but a lot of kids in that generation are still a bit awkward and don't feel too comfortable with it, though they aren't cruel about it.
One time I was commuting on a bus and there was a lesbian couple, around college age (don't know for sure but they looked older, at least late in high school) and they were holding hands, nobody really paid attention and just assumed they were friends, they kept whispering to each other and giggling, and this older man (middle-aged at least) asked them if they had to be so close and when one girl said something about how they were dating so it was fine, and asked if there was a problem, he just made a disgusted face and said a cruel word, then ignored them but kept a disgusted look.
Basically, some adults in authorative positions (teachers, bosses, parents) will be confrontational to LGBT+ people....but if it's a stranger, they generally just look the other way, or like that guy, they show their homophobia but don't actually confront or attack you...they are just very cold and cruel.

Like this?

She just can't stop looking every time Jeongyeon caresses Momo's arm even though she's talking to KSY..

Gets kinda.. annoyed?

S'okay she can't stay mad for long

Momo tends to ignore Mina hence the tragicness, but they're also known to be really close friends, they just don't show it. Momo can act so gay towards other members yet with Mina she just freezes.
And about Moonsun, I don't think they're real even though im sure Moonbyul is gay. Mamamo just knows how to do good fanservice.
I can't tell which member is supposed to be the jealous one, clarification please?
-
I don't think they were subconscious in those links.
What is "neutral" treatment tho? "Trying" to treat neutrally can lead to abnormal treatment.
I don't know if this is "hiding in plain sight" but MoonSun, whether it's true or not, may encourage some gay idols that extend their limit, thinking that they can act to that extent without being put in bad light.
I believe some gay idols may take advantage of Korean heteronormative mindset. A gay couple can do almost everything but make love in public and the public will try to translate everything as friendship. I mean even Jo Kwon reported visited a gay bar in Bangkok was not fully convincing that he was gay.
Think about it, what exactly will make the public pinpoint a celeb as gay?
Don't forget Seolhyun and Zico. Even busiest idol can manage to date.
No. Just treat them like a friend. For example: Smile at them, talk to them, do hug them and put your arm around them, do some fanservice but don't push it, don't stay away from it either.
Just basic fanservice but not overboard. Keep it simple and easy. In my opinion it's very easy to do.
"What exactly will make the public pinpoint a celeb as gay?"
Not much. An individual could fawn over the same sex, say they are handsome/beautiful/sexy/hot, touch and grope the member of the same sex, etc. They can even kiss a member of the same sex and be assumed straight.
The only way the public would call out an INDIVIDUAL for being LGBT+, would be if the individual said it themselves, officially started dating a member of the same sex, OR were seen kissing. I mean kissing more than a peck in the lips, more than casual making out- but very heated kissing that lasts a long time, akin to a french kiss or more.
Example, this is okay/won't lead to suspicion:

Their mouths are closed, it doesn't last very long, it's during a concert and such, etc.
And this would lead to them being found out and a scandal:

Lasts a while, obviously not a simple "lips to lips" kiss.
And it should be in a more private setting, not fanmeet/fansign/concert.
But if it does happen in a public event, the group would get a lot of shit, criticism, and hate thrown their way.
That would definitely get called out because it's crossing the line. Boy group kisses tend to be very quick and close-mouthed so it's brushed away.
Girl groups don't do actual kisses as fanservice very much....

Jungkook is the one that confuses me the most. Sometimes I get the feeling he's straight but just really loves the attention that his hyungs give him. Other times I feel like there is a bit more to it and he's bi/pan.
I think Rap Mon at the very least is open to the idea of being with a man.
With Jonghyun I think he has a much larger preference for men then women. Granted, I've gotten the feeling that he's in a relationship with a guy right now and that has made him a lot more comfortable about being open about his attraction to other men over the past year or so. Before that he seemed open to flirting with anyone pretty equally.
He really has seemed to come to terms with it and I'm really, really happy about that. I was always afraid he would be the one who repressed it and married a woman just to keep up his image and family name. I think it really helped being with BTS and Big Hit because in general that just seems like a really accepting environment.
Jungkook never confused me much somehow I always had a strong feeling that he was bi or pan, even at the beginning. It was odd to me that he rejected Jimin but was ok with the other members, so I thought, "Yeah maybe he's uncomfortable with JM since JM has an obvious crush on him", but then....look at how much he loved and adored Jimin, even at debut when he used to reject him, it was obvious that he had a very soft/strong spot and draw towards Jimin. I figured it was a type of show for fans
He acted the same way around some males as he did around those beautiful women in AHL. Shy and very flustered
Jungkook does love attention from his hyungs but the way he acts around someone who isn't in BTS, asking for his number all shyly and everything, I think it's much more likely he is bi. And he does tend to check out Jimin a lot, I don't ship anyone in BTS romantically but he does check him out, he did it to GD, I brushed it off but when he did it to that other guy....
I don't think anyone in BTS is fully straight if I'm being honest I think at least all of them are open.

Much like Infinite and even GOT7, BTS strikes me as a group that is comprised almost entirely of LGTB people, if not entirely.
The only one that gives me genuine confusion is Namjoon. He's sort of in the same category of Jonghyun, a bisexual with a preference for women - but someone who not at all unopposed to a relationship and/or tyst with someone with his own gender, or a straight guy, but someone who has flirted with the idea of same-sex realtionships in the past.
If it turns out to be the last one, I'll be genuinely surprised

But as for the rest of them, I'm convinced that they're all gay or bisexual.
I completely agree
I don't understand though, why people always say RapMon is the straightest. He did cover Fools with Jungkook and his ideal types are always pretty telling that he's at least open since he cares more about sneakers than the gender
