It's a reality show, right? I've heard of it but have never watched it.

I'm in appreciation of american popular music and introduction to theatre. Both technically history classes, but on subjects I'm into. Super stoked for this semester

No it's just a television series, but it's actually kind of good. Oooh I like theater that sounds fun, what do you do in appreciation of american popular music?

It's pretty much a music history class. It's pretty cool. For homework we are required to listen to certain songs from different eras and talk about them in class

  5. As a Potterhead I love the theme,, buuuuttt I was gonna get a badge for Sailor Moon and then then I noticed all the badges are from Sailor Moon Crystal Now my day has balanced out
  6. Favorite Outer- When I was younger it was Usagi/Ami, now it's Rei/Mako/Mina I voted for Rei/Mars though. I like her Classic 90s/PGSM incarnations the best Favorite Inner- Classic!Michiru of course Favorite starlight- Yaten/Healer
  7. Makes sense, Tchaikovsky's music definitely appeals to the younger audience cause his music is so light and ingrained in popular culture
  8. Also yes!!! At the person who mentioned George Gershwin. I found out about him through Prefab Sprout! I think we have all heard Rhapsody in Blue lol
  9. I also really want to mention these masterpieces Freude Schöner Götterfunken Tochter Aus Elysium Moldau- Smetana mainly the first 8 minutes, my personal recent fave Danse Macabre- Camille Saint-Saëns Lacrimosa- Mozart
  10. Tchaikovsky got me into classical music. He is so much lighter than most Russian composers. It's a shame he didn't like the Nutcracker because he thought it was too "frilly" like hello there Tchaikovsky that is why we love you! Waltz of the Flowers: Dance of the Swans (1:54 especially): Valse Sentimentale: But there is a lot more than just Tchaikovsky I also like Erik Satie's Gnossiennes, specifically no. 4 and no .1
  11. oh, I am reading the manga so I hope it's really good. Thanks for the discussion I agree SM is better when it's about the Usagi and the other scouts then just focusing on Usagi and Mamoru
  12. Since I haven't read the manga I cannot really compare, but I love Usagi's flanderization ok! lol! even Rei's, Rei's DiC voice was so awesome lmao. I mean Usagi starts out as a crybaby with terrible grades even in the manga (I got that far :P) and all of a sudden she is given the task of saving the world, there is no way she is going to easily adapt to this even with help of the other scouts. Would you say that Usagi's transformation into Sailor Moon was realistic in the manga? I mean I have never really cared to much about realism in a manga esp since it's a shoujo magical genre anime, but even if Usagi was more "tolerable" I have heard that she came off as so perfect despite all of the obvious flaws she should have had to deal with. That's why I love this scene of the DiC intro so much. I am not going to say that Sailor Moon was so deep, but I would not be surprised if the anime actually had more substance than the manga and did a better job at illustrating Usagi's man vs self conflict.
  13. I only saw the first/second maybe third episode and I decided I did not like it. To be fair, I might give it a second chance. It's odd because of the cat plushies and overall cringiness, but I feel as though some things might actually be well executed in the live action version. I once saw the nickname Michiru "start some shit" Kaihou and I feel like that's super appropriate at least for anime Michiru. but I cannot help but love Michiru either way, her character just appeals to me so much. And I think she got the coolest planet tbh (Neptune/Poseidon, epic). I never really paid attention to her when I was 9/10, but now that I am re watching it I think she is so -swoon- I am not really familiar with the HarukaxUsagi thing, or whether it's cheating, but kissing seems a little weird to me. I hear that after that kiss nothing even happens between them (UsagixHaruka). It just seems so out of place, but then again I haven't even read the manga so maybe when I read it it'll make more sense. Lol yeah that's so weird how they made him a college student in the anime, but somehow that never bothered me, how awkward lol and I definitely don't condone pedophilia in anyway. I crushed on him when I was younger, but yeah now he is just meh to me. Don't hate him, but don't really like him either. I heard about the black lady/tuxedo mask kiss, that's just all hosts of gross. Usagi and Rei? Woah, now there lmao! They had a special friendship, but anything more than that would have been............ I guess he really likes girlxgirl relationships xD Lmao, that quote, so funny!
  14. You might be totally right, but this might also be a huge assumption. From what I have noticed, people who are into analyzing SM seem to prefer the 90s anime. I would not mind if it were an unpopular opinion, but the anime is just so amazing! Gosh Rei and Usagi's relationship lmao, I never knew if I loved it or hated it. I am kinda interested in seeing Rei portrayed as a respectable and refined young woman though. The producer hated Mamoru? Wow, I did not know that, did he really use those exact words? I don't think Mamoru deserves hate lol though he does seem kinda dead weight sometimes though his rose attacks were iconic I have heard that anime is much kinder to Michiru's character (and she is one of my faves of the series) and it goes further in developing the relationship between her and Uranus. This is very important to me lol and I am not even into homosexual pairings. Also, is PGSM worth a try (if you've watched it)?
  15. Is this really an unpopular opinion though, so many people love the classic 90s anime and don't even know that there is a manga or are even interested in reading it. You might be right, but I don't really know what basis you are going off of. I am going to read the manga though I don't think anything will touch the 90s anime for me. Detective Conan, SM, and Glass Mask (esp 1984 ver) are the only things I need anime-wise, especially SM, I can watch them over and over again. Well, in Detective Conan's case I don't think I will ever reach the end
  16. I have decided to start reading the manga. I have heard that the manga does very little to develop or explore Neptune's character and her relationship with Uranus (They are the only homosexual couple I have ever shipped and boy do I ship) I think I understand why the manga never really explored Neptune and her relationship with Uranus though. I am excited to start reading the manga just to see what it has to offer. The classic 90s anime is so gold to me and I have never really liked manga so I am pretty sure the 90s will reign supreme for me, but who knows.
  17. Itazura Na Kiss is the only romance anime I have been able to complete, it's cute! but I think the live actions are funner.
  18. Conan is life lol Well if you like shojo Glass Mask is fun to watch. It's about a girl who wants to become an actress, she is kind of an unrealistic character but I really loved the intensity between her and her rival. I never finished Nana for the sake of my sanity
  19. I honestly can't stand the anime Ao Haru Ride. My faves are Sailor Moon, Detective Conan and Glass Mask (1984 version though I also like the 2000 animation) Nana is a mindfuck
  20. Her and Cheng Xiao stole the show for me although I do agree that Nayoung could have gotten a little bit more screen time.
  21. I like Sailor Neptune the most. I like all of them though.
