  1. I need Hobi to celebrate 5 million followers with at least 5 fire selfies. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  2. Okay, so objectively I am sure he posted this when he had already left, but I was like 5 blocks away, weep. I was hoping they'd hang in NYC. [edit] BAH, I misquoted again. I meant to quote Oumaji's kimdaily. Mess. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  3. My sister has OneHallyu pulled up on her computer and showed me a video of Hobi being excellently rude in a clip of Dope. My phone doesn't load tweets so she told me it was yours and which post to quote. WHOOPS. Let's blame her. From thorough research, it appears it was YourGirlJamie. Sorry! Namjoon is a treasure too -- and Yoongi with that rumbling-voiced VLive. I wonder what inspired him to broadcast tonight. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  4. J-Hope, a national treasure. I cannot stop fixating on how these past two days have amplified my love of him. I can't. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  5. I am a double posting failure. Also, fun fact: I failed to get a bag for my bomb both nights. Lonely, lonely, lonely whale~
  6. Also I'm down for the Rainbow ARMY nickname. Tae called us it in the concert, and Namjoon spit some beautiful shit about inclusion, like we are all the colors of the rainbow and it doesn't matter what we are, etc etc. Spectacular. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  7. The most Yoonmin pic to have ever Yoonmin'd. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  8. IT FELT LIKE IT. He was trying to explain to security that he should be let backstage. I had the impulse to ask for a pictures but it felt inappropriate. Shout out to caphrinias for recognizing him. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  9. Okay, so my sister and I just came through security with Jeff Benjamin and he said hi. CELEBRITIES, AM I RIGHT? Also, super hype tonight! Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  10. Tiny moments from my POV, apologies if I repeat: - Hobi's introduction was a strong start, switching it up the "I'm your Hope, I'm your angel~" bit to end in a more confident way than cutesy. I feel like his vibe with the audience was much different than at KCON NY over the summer. At KCON, he was more cutesy/playful, whereas tonight he was giving me a lot of "DAMN, SON" and you-are-a-charming-grown-ass-man moments. He was, in my opinion, engaging the most with the crowd -- smiling, pointing out individuals, doing smooth things at specific people in the pit. - Oh, hey, Jimin's hair is brown and was rocking an almost middle-part when they first entered. - RM seemed really happy. I just got that vibe every time he spoke. - Speaking of RM, we did the "WE LOVE YOU" chant, and it was nice and loud. I took a fancam, but the quality is pretty bad. - The crowd went hard for Yoongi and Hobi. The screams whenever Yoongi just appeared on the MVs they were playing before were noticeably louder than what other members got, in my opinion. - My favorite solo to watch was MAMA, but Lie, First Love, and Reflection were strong contenders. Begin was great too; it was just the first one so I was still warming up. Jin was super emotional during Awake (or acting intentionally to match the song, get use out of the degree and all that) and sounded very nice. Stigma was fine! It felt weird not to mention Tae. It just didn't pull me as much the others. - Jimin smacking Jungkook's butt during 21st Century Girls. Hah. - During the medley, when "Danger" came on, Hobi was doing parts of the actual choreography as they all worked the crowd. - There was so much jumping during Cypher Pt. 4. As per usual, it was super hype. My rap line heart was very, very happy. - The WINGS Outro was lit as hell? Like? Super lit? Tae threw roughly 903834803 (read: maybe 2) water bottles onto the crowd, but it was with a lot of emphasis. - When they were throwing fan gifts at the end, one was perfectly thrown so that it slid across the stage and landed right under Hobi while he was bowing. He kind of made a surprised face and then turned and smiled in the direction it came from. And then, of course, later he scooped up a bunch of the plushies and was carrying them around before leaving them in a corner. - I know half of these are about Hobi, but he was seriously LIVING tonight. My only point of comparison is when I saw them live at KCON, but he was smiling and very confident tonight. The crowd loved everything he did. He even started us all swaying our arms at the end as they were exiting. Then he threw his arm around Tae and they shot funny hearts at the crowd. This felt like the Night of J-Hope. - RM's thank you for getting the song so high up on Billboard was really kind. He got bashful at the end and did that little shy smile thing he does as he thanked us. - Captain Kook with the flag cape was beautiful, obviously. There are more things... my legs and brain are mush. Time to do it again tomorrow! -
  11. Okay so these are not HD because I took them on my iPhone, but I was proud of them: I seriously have 500 of him looking amazing. I feel like a fansite master for him was on my side of the stage in the pit because he was giving a lot of attention to one section, pointing and smiling. I have no idea where that wind came from to move his cape indoors, but I was grateful. I enjoy Hobi with his arms up in the background. Okay this one is blurry, but it was CYPHER, okay, I was moving. A lot.
  12. Okay so I am literally walking out of the Newark venue, but good god, Jung Hoseok, how can I go on? Like... he already won America. I can't. I knew the moment he introduced himself, threw his coat off one shoulder, and lowly rumbled, "I'm J-Hope..." in this sultry, self-confident tone that I was a goner. Completely irresistible and channeling his fire selfie game but in real life, while moving. I'm dead. More thoughts later. Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu mobile app
  13. Re: fanfic conversation -- I like to imagine that when BTS gets really drunk they find some of the more ridiculous ones and read them out loud. I would. ALSO -- I am ill with excitement for the concert, and feel blessed because my new BTS shirts arrived in time to wear to the concert, yessss. TWAS FATE.
  14. UGH, I love this musical walk down memory lane. So many good mentions! When I think of albums and groups I was an avid listener of in my ~*youth*~, I think Spice Girls was the first CD I ever bought. I also recall really liking Sugar Ray and Aqua when I was in elementary school. I was a big fan of TLC, as others have mentioned. I considered Left Eye a musical role model for a certain period of my life, which concerned my mother since Left Eye was also famous for setting her boyfriend's sneakers on fire and nearly burning down the house they lived in because of it. And then when I got more into middle school/high school, it was a lot of Weezer and No Doubt. When I first got into rap, I mostly fixated on individual songs I liked, which is still a tendency of mine, but quickly became super obsessed with Kanye West. (Though my party trick is my ability to rap all of 99 Problems by Jay-Z from memory, which I am happy to whip out after many drinks at karaoke.) In college (or was it late high school?), it shifted again to Postal Service, Rilo Kiley... indie rock stuff. I really loved Kid Cudi when I heard him for the first time, and I still feel a lot of joy listening to old N.E.R.D. songs. To bring it back to BTS... let's keep loving Change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKWR1foWa7U
  15. Not to break up the flow, but I am still belatedly and slowly working through the Why I Love challenge! Why I Love Yoongi
  16. I'm feeling the US roadtrip thing, with a throwback to AHL. I would obviously LOVE for them to be on a US TV show, but I agree with your point that, because the questions are being sent to BigHit, it is probably something self-produced.
  17. Given the amount of time they will be in the US (and don't they have a handful of days off?) I wonder if they are squeezing in another little reality show. I would love for a roadtripping show.
  18. I interpreted it as him saying that he felt like something was missing from his first mixtape and wants to take more ownership, maybe fully producing over his own beats similar to what Yoongi did on Augst D. RM's was more of a traditional mixtape adding his own lyrics to beats of established songs. Now that he has more time and experience producing under his belt, I think he is ready to take all the agency and release something that feels even more like him -- because it will all be made by him. At least that was how I took it. This too! Much better, lol. Relevant quote from AKP's link: The entirety of my work on the mixtape took around four or five months. When we were resting for a while, I worked on it and released it. Because it was a mixtape, I worked and released it without any huge burdens. I chose songs that I liked, and included a lot of topics that I had been thinking about at various times. I wrote a lot about the anger and rage that I had been carrying, but when I look at it now, they aren't songs that are 100% under my sovereignty and there are a lot of really immature parts as well. Even though it's only 1 year ago, I was so young. The company gave me the autonomy to do most of it how I wanted to do it, but since it was the first time, I think I did it without a big picture in mind. I had confidence at the time, but since time has passed it seems like I've grown again as a person. The really interesting thing is, my mixtape was included as #48 on SPIN Magazine's 'The 50 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2015' list. I also received some attention from DJ Booth. At any rate, I was very happy with and thankful for the fact that there were people who paid attention to my music as it moved past the language barrier. It was a good experience, and I want it to at least leave some meaning, to the extent of letting the people who like me carry some conviction towards me. I'm working on my second mixtape now, and it seems like I've reached a limit. I thought that using songs that others had given was a limit on my own storytelling, so these days, with a heart that's traveled back to 2007, I've started beat-making. This time, when I put out my mixtape, I want it to be something that I worked on by myself. To be honest, my trainee days are my dark ages. Zico hyung said something like this to me. That he was practicing producing a lot. At the time I thought that a rapper only had to be able to rap well. And producing was too much like engineering, I lacked the knowledge and didn't like the machinery so I really disliked it. I learned for about a month and then quit. I feel the need acutely now, of the thirsty man who sold his well.* Thankfully because I've listened to music for so long, I have a feeling, but I don't know the reality of it, so I'm suffering. If I'd only lived a little more on the producing side during my trainee days, I think this would be much easier. Even so, since I rested so much at that time, that's something that comforts me now. I'm working with those thoughts in mind.
  19. I got into WoW around the time the Icecrown raid dropped, and I was in a guild with a bunch of casual friends. I miss it sometimes. Usually, I would deactivate and then reactivate whenever the next expansion dropped. But I didn't do that with the latest one and now I feel like I am out of the cycle. ONE DAY. One day. Lately I just replay the DragonAge games when I feel a video game itch. Agreed with the new angle for pushing for RM exposure with the public. He was always acknowledged as writing, but after Young Forever, the producer side came to the front in a really noticeable way. He was even on that list of most-anticipated KPOP producers, though I don't have the link. It makes me EVEN MORE HOPEFUL that his next mixtape might actually be an EP. Dreams. I most enjoyed the line acknowledging the huge fanbase and laughed at "I fw with it." Glad he found a Cypher too.
  20. Not to reveal myself as a former World of Warcraft player, but I heard, "I see sungrass growing in winter's eye" when I first listened. I suppose "some grass growing in winter's ice" does make more sense. Still here for "winter's eye" though, I like it. Maybe my ears were influenced because he touched his eye at that part?
  21. Those are three of my favorite reactors! And yes YES to the special breed of drunk reviewing RM stans. Total aside: I briefly tried to convince my sister to make a reaction channel called Boozin' with Bangtan where it is just drinking games to BTS videos. SO CLEVER. Agreed on that winter's eye lyric -- love it. In the RM verse, I think my favorite lyrics are: Oh, fuck the school All we got is mad teachers and some visible classes Divided spaces, and forever-lastin' stresses I love the class system/divided peoples idea he presents here, super on-point thematically. I thought it was "invisible classes" though this way works too. I love Wale's line about "haikus over rap tunes" and also the bit about voting and becoming mannequins. This song really, really works for me. I love it more and more and more and more.
  22. More than a gun, more than a knife The tip of your tongue just glitter How could you bet? It's damn checking game Those are the best translated lyric I have seen so far -- thanks! The two lines above some people think are actually phrases he is saying in Korean, but I haven't seen anyone come up with what those Korean lines are. I need BigHit to give us the final word. If those are in Korean, I like that he sort of flipped his ratio for this track: mostly English with some Korean.
