  1. I love that they flipped Jisoo to red hair. It makes her pop so much in the newer videos too!
  2. Even if Hwarang is garbage, I will watch every episode. BUT I don't think it will be. Just want to see Tae get his moment~ And then Jin! I always imagine Jin in a romantic comedy-type plot where he is a ridiculous but endearing character.
  3. Agreeing with this 1000%. If you are a talented trainee who wants to do your own music/have a voice, I think BigHit would be a really attractive company. JK knew what was up. Lots wanted him, but he went with BH.
  4. That makes me happy. I want them to be insanely successful, but also able to still, you know... go places. Without some huge team.
  5. I also love that all of their voices are so distinct. It weirds me out when I listen to a group and cannot tell which member is singing. They have different tones and all that, and it feels like that distinction is celebrated. [edit] Okay, clearly I need to proofread posts before hitting enter because this is my 100th typo.
  6. When he goes on trips like that, does he have to take his manager? I always wonder this. Because the impression is that he is alone, but someone is taking the pics. Plus, in terms of security, I don't know how often he can go off on his own.
  7. I do like MAMAMOO! I just don't follow groups very well. BP is also the first group that I was, like, THERE for their debut. So I anticipated them debuting, which was a new experience for me. And I think the cutesy concept thing is a preference. I don't hate cute moments or despise aegyo or anything like that. I just like to see women acting like women. When it gets excessively girly (or if it feels like that is all they ever do) that is when I lose interest. And I am open to finding other groups that are like that too. I knew I was definitely here for BP when I got annoyed at the backlash some netizens gave Jennie on Weekly Idol. Like, how do you think that she is "arrogant" when she said she thinks she is good at everything but not the BEST at one thing? I don't think that is arrogant. If anything, I found it endearing because it felt to me like she was being honest with something she may be insecure with. It felt like a genuine moment so I was sad to see anyone go after her for it. I don't want them to scare her away from being honest about her feelings. That honest connection matters to me a lot. I am definitely excited to see whatever their rookie show is. It seems like they really do like each other and have good chemistry with one another. So if they had cameras on them in a less structured environment, I think I am going to like it a lot. [edit] BAH, another typo!
  8. Hi, new to OH and first post in the BP thread. So BTS is my heart -- but I really like Blackpink? For reference, most girl groups get only side-eye from me and I am SUPER new to KPOP so I was not around for 2NE1. (Just say 'no' to cutesy/infantilizing girl group concepts in my opinion!) When I first heard Boombayah, I replayed it a lot, and immediately bought it and Whistle on iTunes. People seem to not enjoy Stay, but I love that too. Playing With Fire is catchy as hell. AND LISA. I find her adorable and enjoy her rap delivery. I love how well she dances. She seemed a little quiet on Weekly Idol, but that is understandable. My biggest wish for BP right now is to see more of their personalities. I was disappointed when a lot of their first VLives were them staring at the camera saying "hello" in different baby voices. :( I think they are deeper than that so I want to see it! Jisoo does a great job showing a genuine vibe. So I anticipate the other girls getting more comfortable and becoming like that too. Until then... I definitely have my eye on them and hope YG does right by them. [edit] Whoops, typo~
  9. New to OH and, after a long time of refusing to use the "bias" label, here because the reason I got interested in BTS and the member I follow the most *cough* is RM. @English rapping convo -- Echoing the sentiment that what makes his rap so brilliant is how he manipulates both languages to do what he wants. I live for his slant rhyme, and his English-to-Korean repetition of similar-sounding words. It gives what he does such depth. I would love anything he did, but it would not feel like him if it was primarily in English, unless that was the conceit of the song and somehow connected thematically to what he was communicating.
  10. My heart bursts when I think that I saw them at KCON NY earlier this year... and they are going to play the same venue, just them, in March. I will be throwing money.
  11. One of the reasons I love Bang PD (and the BigHit team) is how he protected (and protects) them. And he was a bit right to do so -- that first Weekly Idol was not very kind.
  12. Oh, hi, first post! I never listened to KPOP before, but my sister kept telling me to check out this one group. Her persistence paid off, and one night I found myself watching all of their music videos, followed by a YouTube playlist of like 130+ bombs and related videos, and now I am making an account here because I need more places to talk about BTS. But on this topic~ I echo all the dreams every one else has, and I definitely would love to see Hobi with a solo stage. I am tentatively excited it might happen because of how BigHit timed the release of his vlog and the practice video. But we shall see. I am trying not to get my hopes up. I also hope that they continue to play with this idea of solos on group albums. So we could potentially get glimpses of subunits, but still contained on a BTS album. I am here for it.
