  1. SERIOUSLY, FRIEND. Because I also fully agree on those songs you skip. Out of all that you listed, I dislike how If I Ruled the World sounds the least. But Miss Right is so skippable. Every time. No playlists for you. I had to stifle my laughter because it is late, but this thread is poetic. [edit] Mmm, late-night typo.
  2. That collab didn't do anything for me, though I loooooved the singing parts on D**n and Cr**h. P.S. -- why do we asterisk it? Is it so people can't search in our thread for mentions of other artists? I have been wondering this... The only non-BTS K-Pop rap/hip-hop track that grabbed my soul was this old one my sister showed me, with relevant BTS ties as being an influence on them: Not to say that these other great tracks DON'T exist, of course. I just continue to only dip my toe in BTS' pool. Wink.
  3. I follow Yoongi and RM now, with Hobi soon to follow. But seeing as though I joined OH this weekend... I should maybe... pace... myself? Going back to work tomorrow will slow my roll considerably. Especially since I spent all of today trolling forums and watching videos instead of lesson planning like a fool.
  4. I am anxious for them do it but MONETIZE it. All of their collabs have happened outside of formal BTS albums. Let's go back to that delulu list where we have an album with subunits and features on it. Yes, please.
  5. This has me thinking of some of the threads from yesterday/today about people's opinion on the "worst" songs from their groups and how diverse that is, too. We all come to BTS for something different, and they are able to deliver. I, for example, love the tongue-in-cheek wordplay of War of Hormone, but some people hate it. I dislike the forced metaphors and sing-songyness of Coffee, but some people love it. RM's and Yoongi's mixtapes fill my need for a pure mindfest of words of depth, but that doesn't make my appreciation of BTS any more significant, necessarily, than others'. I feel like this calls for a group hug.
  6. HAH -- you know when Hobi wrecked me? I mean, like... how do you come back from that? I acknowledge RM as my main favorite because I feel the strongest connection to him, but I love all of them. Everyone is tied... and then I just pay a lot of attention to RM and identify with him all the time.
  7. I've never been in a fandom of any sort so I have no basis for comparison, which is maybe a good thing. I will say I don't think younger fans can fully take the blame for when ARMY behaves badly, but I am always surprised when very young people are into BTS. Granted, I also think that I would have been into BTS when I was younger, if I had heard them, so Complete Hypocrite. They appeal to me in a way that no other group does, and I think a lot of that is their lyrical and musical (mostly) maturity, for the most part. Don't get me wrong -- I love a dumb song and some bops, and BTS definitely has those. But again, the captivating nature of BTS. This magical Demian shit? Yes, please. RM's puzzle-like verses that must be unraveled? Yes, please. Damn, I have been contemplating learning Korean in order to make my own deductions about what their lyrics mean, even though that kind of understanding could take years. STILL -- what a wonderful influence to have on a person's life.
  8. No lie, I was about to say "Lim Kim" because her tone in Awoo is my favorite thing.
  9. Happy to help~ And don't worry, karma already came full circle with me falling into the Bon Voyage miasma. Circle of life.
  10. Annnnd just like that I am down the rabbit hole of rewatching... FOR THE RECORD, I paid manhi manhi manhi for the V+ episodes but resent to all hell that I can ONLY watch it on my tiny phone. :(
  11. Oh dang, I had no idea that they get won. WHOOPS. Thanks, fam. Literally. This is my sister. Hi, sister.
  12. LOL @ intentional sexual tension in Jin/Jimin photos I can only imagine Jin being like, "Trust me, this is going to look AMAZING." And Jimin nodding along.
  13. I wondered if they would announce it around Christmas, but that is REAL SOON so... Maybe not.
  14. SPEAKING OF THINGS TO BUY... Because Wings has come out, redbubble has had an influx of new BTS designs: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/bangtan
  15. I think the ones on Amazon are real? Maybe? https://www.amazon.com/BTS-Official-Light-Stick/dp/B0100XCYHI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480299359&sr=8-2&keywords=bts+army+bomb But they have it through their official site too: http://btsofficialshop.com/shop/shopdetail.html?branduid=48&xcode=004&mcode=005&scode=&type=Y&sort=manual&cur_code=004005&GfDT=a2t3WQ%3D%3D I legit want the tiny bomb keychain.
  16. Congrats! I am hotly anticipating hitting enough posts to get my first. I planned to get BTS first, then rapline. But maybe I should do RM only? Time will tell.
  17. Agreed, with what was said by all but too lazy to quote all, apologies -- I think that was more of what I meant. I think the bright/playfulness IS J-Hope. I was just also happy to see this other side, which we also catch glimpses of in Cypher Pt. 2 and 3 for me. I loved hearing that from him because BME is more in line with my personal taste, but when I first heard MAMA, I immediately texted my sister about how it was the most J-Hope song to have ever J-Hoped (and is also one of my favorites on the album -- just makes me happy to listen to it). The distinctness that we have all mentioned about their vocal signatures is key. There was a time when I thought of RM as the lyricist, Yoongi as the producer, and Hobi as the performer, but I enjoy that those roles are blurring and shifting as they evolve. It is one of the many things that makes me believe in their certain longevity. The morale of the story is BTS is blessed.
  18. Rapline talk never imposes! I don't want to take over the main thread since there tends to be different threads of conversation going on and a lot more general BTS shoptalk/image posting. At least in my, like... two days of membership, aha. I assume most people in the RM subtopic are down with any rap talk. I think one reason Hobi cried so hard when they got Daesang is because of how much bigger his role became in the latest album. (Even though I know they won for YF, I thought it was for Wings and so did the band, according to what RM said in the VLive at least, hah.) You could tell from his vlog and, I think, from his general vibe, that he is nervous about his ability to carry something, so to speak. (I think Jimin comes across the same way.) His intro video is absolutely outstanding, and that is my favorite rap I have ever heard him do, one of my favorite intros from the band ever. In the past, I feel like Hobi sometimes cast himself (or was cast) into this role of rapping a different topic/POV from Yoongi and RM so that they don't come across too similarly. (Though they all do this at different times, like Yoongi making his anti-Converse rap or RM taking the mediator role in Satoori rap.) And since they came with this rap background and confidence in what they wanted to say, I think he naturally just took a more submissive position. So if Yoongi came with hard/rugged/sarcasm and RM came with intellectual/referential/flow flex, Hobi would compliment it with more playful/bright lyrics. This is, of course, not true across the board and is strictly my opinion. What I loved about his intro was how raw, powerful, and deep it was, which I think is what Hobi is. ANYWAY, rambling. Shine for any of the rappers is shine for the rapline, which is shine for BTS. So I'm here for it.
  19. I am not Jimin-biased, and I find it near impossible to look away from him in that video. THOUGH Hobi sounds so flawless on his verse. [edit] "That video" obviously being Perfect Man.
