YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS RM went off. Their energy was SO HIGH -- maybe one of my favorite MIC Drop performances, even without the amazing extra dance breaks!

YESSSS -- they just said BTS is coming up. (To clarify, they said it would be Camila Cabello and then BTS when they get back from the break.)

Dark & Wild is the album I listen to the most in its entirety. For sure it is what hooked me, and I found BTS during the HYYH Pt. 2 Era. I think HYYH Pt. 2 is probably second for me because Baepsae is one of my most-played BTS songs ever. But Dark & Wild has so much perfection on it, like my eternal favorite BTS song: Cypher Pt. 3: KILLER. It's too soon for me to decide where the newer albums fall in line. Playlist longevity will tell.

Dick Clark's thingy is starting now -- already saw a flash of BTS in the promos and READY FOR IT.

This is on my list too. I hear it is being made into a movie.

I've been reading a lot lately, probably an after-effect of being a teacher to middle school kids. Vassa in the Night is a bizarre story. It is violent and odd and takes place in an alternate-universe Brooklyn. I found it tough to get through the first 1/4 of the book but then I was into it 100%. The main character has a wooden doll companion, and there are other weird parts. BUT this is, at its heart, a story of overcoming, of a girl discovering her purpose. And I appreciated it didn't feel like anything else I had read before. The Hate U Give. Read it. It's relevant and good and with a ton of heart and reality. What do you do when your life is a headline? An excellent novel, a gripping tale of a girl caught between her past/history and her desire for a better life. READ IT! Eliza and Her Monsters. Hm, what to say. I burned through this book, but the end gets really, really stupid. All I can say is -- if you have ever been in an obsessive fandom culture on the internet, you may like this. Ignore the absolutely stupid end section where it is all OMG BEING FAMOUS IS HARD and stay for the accurate look at fandom culture. This one made me sad. So much potential, but intelligent readers will be annoyed at the end. Still worth reading. I'm Your Biggest Fan -- a book written by a People employee about her experience in the industry and with celebrities. I love a behind the scenes glimpse at production and Hollywood society so I found it engaging. A bit shallow, but a quick, interesting read.

My brain was like E = 5th letter of English alphabet, n = 14 so.... something is happening on 5/14? But that is through my English-focused brain. I'm glad BTS always confronts the bullshit about themselves. And I'm even more glad that their huge success has allowed them to be so public about it now. How people still try to claim sajaegi is beyond me.

I needed that warning. That wet-look hair was the perfect example of how to do it. I love his side-parted, forehead exposed style to pieces, but was living for this wet hair look. Grungy and super attractive. That entire MIC Drop performance was a master class in When RM Is Feelin' Himself. I literally rolled my computer chair back a bit when it began because all of them were fiery with confidence. This era is one of my favorites in terms of how they are styling RM. (Though WoH... forever.) Between that boyfriend as fuck shot of him lying on the floor in the blue shirt, the wall of blue flowers with him in front, behind the scenes balcony excellence, quality not-a-weird-angle photocards... I am well-fed visually. I feel like I should make intelligent comments on the album, but I am lost in a sea of A++ pictures.

I also cannot unhear "put your ass on me" though sometimes I hear it as "put your eyes on me." Whatevs, here for all of it. re: Jin -- I value that BigHit is a company that considers the exhaustion of its members and is always willing to pull people/have them sit out to make sure they are okay.

The day that my students realized I was ARMY was initially terrifying and then super endearing. Yeah, maybe a compilation video or something. I also wondered if they were scouting to pick people to fill an audience for something. [edit] Bah, I topped: More Jimin love~ Wait, what's this?

I will be 30 soon, but mostly only fangirl to my sister (who is on here too, caipr... I cannot be bothered to spell it) and MAYBE one close friend. LINE chat is a blessing because it allows me more convenient access to even more ARMY. BUT the idea of standing side by side with a crying 16 who also loves them makes me feel ancient. The fact that it is called a "casting" is worrisome.

Oh god, I live in NYC and am so tempted, but I also don't want to be #exposed since I am an adult. If they are going to be there though, ughhhhhh.

I am always hungry for BTS on variety shows -- YAY!

I don't know how it is possible for me to feel such vicarious happiness. Jimin must be so proud today. The boys must be flipping out about the preorder numbers. They get to go on a mainstream variety show. They got a respectful nod from a legendary KPOP pioneer. And the comeback has not even officially happened! This era is starting with a tremendous BANG, and I am a junkie waiting for the next music fix after Serendipity.

Basically, penicillin was discovered by accident, and this led to the discovery of a drug that was extremely effective in killing bad stuff. Saved tons of lives and whatnot. But it came from mold.
