I wonder how big Xiao Zhan is right now.

I'm surprised he's not on the list; he and Yi Bo went BIG after 'The Untamed', if anything I heard he's more popular and his drama is more successful in comparison.

Yeah, I feel like Yibo's success was less reliant on the former kpop idol label. It also helps that his group was never famous so he feels more homegrown.

UNIQ didn't do much for him; it gave him a starting point in Korea, but he wasn't known before 'The Untamed'.  I'm a little sad, actually, that UNIQ is on hiatus/no-more/inactive whatever people call it.  I love the fact that it's Korean-Chinese; they really could've made it big.  They just débuted at the wrong time I guess.

The Story of Yanxi Palace and The Untamed were one of the best dramas I've watched this year and maybe all time.
I enjoyed The King's Avatar and Arsenal Military Academy so much as well. Definitely recommending those 4 dramas.

I didn't like 'Yan Xi Palace' as much as I'd thought, if anything 'Empresses in the Palace' still remains the best under royal/history drama.

I couldn't get into 'King's Avatar', maybe modern day drama aren't as good as period ones 😆

  3. I like his permanent place in 'Day Day Up' because, like you said, it gives him screen time and just social interaction with the other hosts so he doesn't feel so shut up all the time.  Yi Bo is probably amongst the hottest celebrities nowadays in China, but I do wish he gets more exposure in Korea since that's how his identity was launched: an idol.  Personally, I think he is aesthetically better looking being looked after by make-up artists from YG Entertainment, and that's partly why I feel he is better placed in the Chinese entertainment industry due to his "Korean-beauty" looks, if you get my drift.

God, I love Yi Bo.  I can't wait to see 'Legend of Fei', I hope it gets to air soon.

Hi. We received the OP approval. Do you want to me start the PM with you and the awards team member now? We can discuss about the badge through the PM, so if you have any suggestions for the badge and other ideas. you can post about it there.

Fire away, mate.  I'll follow your lead.

@eggy Great news! We can just do a PM voting. I'll out fill out the form on the OP approval thread HERE. Once we get OP approval, we can move on to voting through PM and add moondust (awards team member in charge of PM voting) when we vote.

We can start once the Sunday deadline for the other holders passes just in case they miraculously reply.

Edit again: HERE are the updated badges I've had made into mocks. I added two more badges with different crops. Feel free to have other mocks done at this time, and then we'll proceed to voting after that.

We have to choose three in the case that our first choice gets disqualified so keep in mind which three you want and rank them. Hopefully, we can get our first choice.

    Thankssss.

OP is original poster, so the person who will make the thread for the badge change and decide on the process. We can't proceed to that though until we have supporters to support. There haven't been responses back yet, but if by the end of this week, there hasn't been a response, I think we can make a thread asking for people to support outside of the badge holders. Would that be okay with you? I can count as a supporter for OP approval so we'll only need two more.

I love those badges too! Very grateful to the awards team member for making them.

I don't  fancy being OP because I don't want the hassle of handling threads, but yes, let's wait for the others to reply.  I don't think there'll be any responses as this is a dead topic, but if you do want to wait until the end of Sunday to leave the voting to outsiders then that's fine with me.

Hi! Yay. Thank you for replying. Are you interested in being the OP for the badge by the way? In any case, we'll need three supporters for OP approval before we can get to the other steps of the badge change.

I requested some mock badges made already, which you can find HERE. If you have any other images in mind, we can get those made into mock badges so that when we have the needed supporters, we can move through the stages faster!

Sorry, haven't been here for so long I don't know what OP is (Official Poster?).  Anyway, I'm happy to do whatever you need me to change the current badge to your suggestions, which are lovely choices by the way (loving the third and fifth one down!).  Have the others replied to your request as one of three supporters?

Yeah, I wonder if they only received important informations about him recently...

I heard the case was first handled by the Portuguese police, they did place him under their list of suspects.  But they hashed up the investigation, so the timeline was gotten all wrong and the suspect was dropped.  Now that Scotland Yard revised it, they found the suspect to have strong links with the case in accordance to the timeline and background.

  9. While a good part of the globe was on lockdown, I took the free time to trawl through the shows and films needed watching on Netflix, this being one of them.  I have high expectations of Chinese drama, after Nirvana in Fire, Empresses in the Palace and Bu Bu Jing Xin.  Usually if I am not drawn in by the end of first or second episode, I will quit.  I had to wait until the third or fourth episode to get flow of this plot; it's very complicated, and it didn't help by the amount of names associated with the two mains plus the supporting cast.  My friend had told me to hold out until at least end of episode 5 to get the gist and I'm so glad I did.  The ambiguous chemistry between the two main boys is absolutely spot-on; this intimate friendship walks on a fine line between homosexuality and soul-mates, which is enough that China didn't edit out under censorship and to the extent which the viewer thinks there is more to this friendship than just "best friends".  I love Lan Zhan.  There is an endearing quality beneath the silence, the cold and judgemental look, the child-like vulnerability in deciding between following the herd or taking a more difficult but the right path.  In the original story, Lan Zhan is said to be the man in the relationship whereas Wei Ying said to be the female.  In the drama, I find it better that there isn't a clear distinction of who wears the trousers in the relationship, that there's a sound balance played and bounced between the two actors.

I'm going to try the manga/animation on YouTube, that'll probably give me answers to some questions (like, why is there a scorched mark on Lan Zhan's ribcage?  I rewound to ep 13 in the cave and it just showed Lan Zhan put some of the herbs on Wei Ying, not like he transferred his spiritual energy to heal him...?)

I can't wait to see more of these two working together.

  10. Not gonna lie, I came to this party when it's clearly over. like, why is this thread so dead??

I saw Yi Bo in 'The Untamed' and he absolutely aced being Lan Zhan my ovaries went poof!
then I began looking him up and didn't realise he was part of a Korean group but I knew as soon as I saw him freestyle dance  my boi can you danceee and be so fineee

I wish to see him in more Chinese TV dramas since I see a lack of music activities going on with him and UNIQ
