  1. I love Tana French; she writes crime, thriller but her books aren't trashy.

You might like 'Lie to Me' by J.T. Ellison; 'One by One' by Chris Carter; 'My Lovely Wife' by Samantha Downing; 'Sometimes I Lie' by Alice Feeney; 'Three Little Lies' by Laura Marshall .

I just... live with Covid?🤔🥴 That's a massive EEP! from me.

The virus is already on Delta but mutating to worse versions and I really...👀🙅🏽‍♀️ Live with it? Seriously?🤦🏽‍♀️

This surely applies everywhere in the world: Live with it.  The virus is now out, there is no un-doing it.  People are kidding themselves to genuinely believe the virus can be gone.  It will never be gone, so the next best thing is to live with it, to ensure our immune system can familiarise and cope.

  3. I can see where the government is coming from; perhaps banning would push locals to spend money back into mainland instead of overseas? also to promote the country's own celebrities and pop culture. Ngl China is doing well compared to the past, their entertainment level on the small screen is better than Korean TV imo, which is slow and lacks plot. Personally I have moved on from Korean culture for quite some time because the Chinese provide a larger variety of entertainment . I wish my country would actively promote its own industries instead of providing financial incentive to pay for outsiders' input

No matter how many others he snitches, his ass better be in jail for a long time (at least).

I'm not saying I'm in favour of death penalty in this case, but life imprisonment is such a waste of taxpayers' money! The government could be making good use of money to build better infrastructures and do more for the community, not waste it on keeping lesser-beings alive.

So all these names had connections to his drug/SA ring. He better spill. I think there's no way he won't get getting a strong punishment. His fans telling themselves they can break him out, and as there are so many of them has made a strong implication to the police.

These nut-jobs have utterly lost their moral compass, instead of screaming justice for him they should take a long hard look at themselves and reflect.

  5. When did China become so ill?? and I love this guy in DDU with Yi Bo as well; this makes me sick to my stomach.  I know innocent-until-proven-guilty but get this bast*rd away from this family-friendly show !

I get what he did was wrong but they are constantly comparing him to Kris Wu and that I can't agree with at all, honestly some people are making him out to be worse than Kris.

He was clearly targeted too they have been constantly trying to take him down since he rose to in popularity.

Also, I think he should have been suspended for a few years rather than his career being completely.

Idk even as a black person I wouldn't compare a racist to a rapist.

I agree with you that this case is different from Kris Wu; this guy's mistake was borne out of ignorance and (extremely!!!) stupid mistake, whereas KW did it because he's a monster. Period. But what's so unforgivable about this is that he's not a foreigner; he's Chinese. He knows scars run deep between China and Japan. I hear the things about what the Japanese did to the Chinese WWII; like raping women in various sadistic ways, killing children as entertainment to see which soldiers killed the most, as if competing. I'm not sure whether these are true, but one thing is absolute certain is whatever the Japanese did to the Chinese it was unforgivable to the point natives will always bear the grudge and never speak of it, let alone posting pics of it on social media.  It's like saying a black person posing 'V' signs in front of statues historically associated with KKK- I don't know. Personally, I don't think China will ever forget and let this scar heal.

The fact of the matter is these aren't just "any pictures" in front of "some tourist site". Re: the comment above me, if you're not visiting sites dedicated to literal war criminals you'll be fine.

For those not from China, please be cognizant of the historical context surrounding the current issue. China suffered the second highest number of WWII casualties (with only 4,000,000 of 20,000,000 being military, the rest are all civilian) and the scars run deep. The Japanese invasion of China is an unspeakably tragic event that is not emphasized at all internationally. To make not-so-apt an analogy - imagine a Jewish celebrity taking a selfie in front of a war memorial for Nazi officers and soldiers, and then imagine the same Jewish celebrity attending a German wedding at a site dedicated to a Nazi general. Yeah, it feels different when I put it this way doesn't it.

You pretty much hit the nail in the head. Except I feel Westerners are forgiving, like YOLO so don't hang on to the past etc. The Orients are different in a sense once you have wronged someone very badly, they will always remember 'til they die.

    another trashy guy if true

why is it so hard for men to date women their age?

I don't think age difference is an issue; I mean, 5 years of age difference or something isn't much of a big deal nowadays.  The problem lies in raping underage girls.

He betrayed these girls like he did the EXO members...fucking weak mentality scumbag

I don't agree; this is completely different.  One is a lack of teamwork and leaving for something better and beneficial for him, the other is abuse, at times to the extent of rape.  The former is done for selfish reasons, the latter is inhumane. The end.

It's been acknowledged that he's trash since God knows how long. Everyone in China knows and it's a common saying that no one is 18 forever except Kris Wu's girlfriend. He has been known to have a messy romantic and sex life for a long long time. Honestly I'm glad he left exo. And it sucks that SM picked this guy and he basically lucked out big time, dude has 0 talent. If not for SM wanting to go after the Chinese yuan and hence create a Chinese boyband which backfired big time due to Kris' selfishness, I could imagine someone more deserving to have debuted in EXO instead of him.

This tbh.  I too don't understand what his talent was, except for having his looks and being able to speak English.

OH wow Just  to verify Kris is currently facing multiple chargers of sexual assault  on Young women to underage girls as his victim. With how the Chinese legal system works Kris wu  would most likely be facing a sentences of anywhere between 3-10 years. Is Kris wu did indeed drug these young women and underage girls Kris is in even more trouble as it has been mention Kris wu not only using the drugs for him self there claims that kris wu was in producing these drugs and distributing them . IF these allegations are true Kris Wu may be looking at a life sentence at the very minimum, In a severe case Kris wu will be looking at a death Penalty.

with all these allegations  adding up Kris WU IS NOT GOING TO GET OFF LIGHTLY

There are rumours going around kris is also being investigated for Money laundering and tax evasion In Mainland China.

However much this creep deserves the hell coming his way, I seriously hope all the accusations made against him are true and not people jumping on the bandwagon just to make sure he goes down. I am all for his getting arrested for life, but for the right reasons; for justice to those who were hurt by him. and not by media piling on pressure and unfounded allegations.

As for the matter of money laundering and distributing drugs, I am not surprised. Although how does he get the time to grow his own drugs? doesn't he have schedules to stick to? Nor am I surprised about tax evasion; typical wealthy people/ celebrities have the money to do that.

Heard it put one way that survivors of rape don't have the luxury of being able to leave the crime scene, its their body.

That's what I was getting at; the horrors of rape will be for the rest of their lives, when they close their eyes and see nothing but that. And the issue of ever trusting someone with their body. I mean; the rapist did it in one go that will scar victims for life.

I pity the survivors, and I also pity his family.  I mean, could you imagine? maybe his family's nothing like him, perhaps his parents are just normal people making an honest living for themselves and all of a sudden the news of his son arrested for rape hits them hard. On top of that, they'll probably get hate mails and death threats. Their neighbours and friends might shun them, even worse, humiliate them in public that they were ever acquainted. Kris Wu has done a whole lot of damage; do these people think of the consequences of their actions?? On so many levels it's affecting and he still did it. More than once.

  9. I've been watching a Netflix series called '13 Reasons Why' (people may or may not have heard of it); one of the central plotlines is a male student raping his best friend's girlfriend. Having watched this, I find the second worst kind of criminal in the world with no chance of redemption has to be a rapist.. For me, rape itself is forcefully stealing someone's intimacy, therefore a part of their soul, for their own entertainment. The act of it is just repulsive, inhumane and so violent that it's borne out of monstrosity, that I think it's impossible that any person can be capable of such monstrous act. I sincerely hope that Kris Wu gets all that he deserves; every second of every minute of every day for the rest of his life. It isn't even a petty-something, like smoking weed or marijuana, this is just god-awful. If I were his fan, I would be disgusted and ashamed that I'd ever thought of liking the guy. He has brought eternal shame to his family and friends, to his company, to his country. I mean, this guy was an idol and to turn out that people have given the spotlight to this beast gives me gooseflesh.

There are still way too many people that refuse to get the vaccine and people that never really wore masks anyway. Plus, cases have already been on the rise and now were supposed to go out as if everything is fine? This will just lead to another wave and everything being forced to shut down again

Also, unless they force people to go around with their vaccination cards to prove they got it, there is no way to separate the people who are vaccinated from the people who aren't

i don't understand how people would enforce that or show proof, though. like... wouldn't people just take advantage of that and say they're vaccinated to not wear a mask, when they really aren't?

anyways, i got my first shot last week and man, the side effects were really harsh on me. lmao, i'm praying for my body when i get the second shot. it's gonna be a tough ride.

This is what my country is doing; the government have placed protection for those who don't wear masks for reasons such as: asthma, pregnancy, claustrophobia, suffers from psychological impact of having something over their face.  Look, I see there's a reason but, surely, by not wearing a mask and if the individual is asymptomatic they'll unknowingly passing covid onto other people.  And there there's guidelines to not ask for exemption cards, otherwise it's discriminating against these groups of people.  Like, what the hell? There are idiots- not even a handful, let's say it's not a small number- go round without masks then claiming they're asthmatic (when they're not) and they don't have proof, but retailers can't ask because they might be complained about discrimination.  I honestly wish there is no exemption, and that everyone must wear masks.  If you don't, just stay at home or shop online.  Some people take the p*ss and make a scene knowing shops can't do anything about their not wearing masks as they can't prove anything.  I really hate hate this.

Even then I don't see people getting the vaccine that haven't gotten it honestly. I know someone who won't get it because they're scared of the effects. She's putting her daughter and her at risk and they are both asthmatic. Truly sad.

For most vaccines, I feel the benefits outweigh the risks.  Besides, getting the jab means you're doing your part to protect everyone.  People shouldn't be selfish and think only of themselves; what's more, let's think of it as a green light for another country to accept you on their home ground as you're less of a danger after vaccinations.

Thanks, I got the idea pretty much afterwards reading other articles.  I pity them, I mean celebs who don't necessarily voice their opinions but are still forced to do things because otherwise their career may be over for not having a united front with the Chinese Communist Party.   Some may believe in their country's innocent of all this (bear in mind their TV's are probably censored for anti-motherland info), but for those who don't buy into the nonsense and forced to do it all the same I feel sorry for them the most.  For example, Yi Bo... he loves Nike; I feel that's the brand he loves to endorse the most because he relates and loves the stuff.  He got Nike gifts from celebs around the world, and now he has to reject any connection with them and took down pretty much all posts associated.  I can't begin to imagine how he feels.... I hope he doesn't actually bin his stuff, I bet a third of his wardrobe is made up of it.

Nike, Adidas, H&M, Calvin Klein, Puma etc. aren't in the wrong, but nor can I blame Chinese celebs.  They must do what they need to keep their career.

  12. Rant/

Ngl the British have not been a fan of Meghan's not because of her skin colour, but because of the extravagant spending on clothes whereas Kate is photo'd wearing items previously worn in the past.  I mean, does any taxpayer want to foot expensive bills when there is someone who is frugal with their spending? especially when there are those living in poverty who cannot afford the basic necessities in life?  Yeah, I for one prefer Kate over Meghan for this simple matter.

As for the British complaining that they are attention-seeking; aren't they?  Harry and Megan want a life away from the cameras; they want to lead an independent life.  They don't want any association with the institution, that is made pretty clear.  So, why do they end up signing deals with Netflix and agree to an interview with Oprah?  As far as I'm concerned, that is putting yourself in the spotlight.  What is worse in the show (I do not call this interview, interview provides two arguments on both sides whereas this is a platform with Oprah handing matches to Harry to burn bridges with his family) is Harry slandering his own family in front of international TV.  Look, whether you like the Royal Family or not, nobody should ever betray their own family in front of a third party, let alone the world.  And to bring out the racist card; if you throw scathing accusations like this, you better have evidence to back-up what you're saying.  Harry doesn't want to reveal who it is(!)  Blimey, look what they have done; now there's this whodunnit among the Royals.  Since they claim racism runs in the Royal Family, then why would they let him marry Meghan?  Now if that were to happen, we can safely say the Royal Family is racist.

    Except they're not.

And then he brings out the Diana-card; what does that even mean?  Isn't William her son, too? This condescension saying William and Charles are trapped in the institution.  Yes; among the commoners there's a thing called a "job".  We may not like it, but it pays for food on the table and other necessities and simple pleasures in life.  A "job" includes responsibilities and doing things you may not like.  I believe the Queen mentioned before that the Royal Family is a "business"; in my opinion, Harry should've made clear to Meghan what she was getting involved in before popping the question. The couple seem to focus on retaining the security that went with being part of the Royal Family.  Obviously when they chose to leave it, all the responsibilities and perks that go with the job automatically disappear and they seemed shocked hearing it?  I don't get it.  When  you enter a club the individual pays the fees and enjoys the service it offers; when they leave it, isn't it common sense to accept the fee is no more and neither is the service?  When is there ever a giving that requires no taking?
