1.
Do you mind doing a girl group tiers chart like before??

    and a boygroup one too XD I'm curious to see your opinion and how it changed since last time.. especially with the newer debuts taking off the way they did

I'll be doing male and female artists in January once year end numbers are in
2. PSY's albums aren't huge sellers the way I understand it. He's got big digital and online presence, but most groups in the mid-high teir sell more than him.

    He's not a huge seller but more than this that's what I'm saying

    his GAON numbers have been decent

    his 5th album sold 25k on GAON

    and his last album obviously did huge number 125k total

    so I was expecting at least 25k GAON and 10k on Hanteo you know?

  3. I waited this list for long because you promised to do that after your vacation. :derp:

    thanks for the hardwork, I'll anticipate the 2015 chart :smile:

    I'ms so sorry I totally slacked on my Oricon updates when I moved to Korea because I had to redo a much of things when the data got lost but anyways thats that!

  4. Just wanted to say I've been hearing glass bead around a fair bit, in coffee shops n such.

    More than I did Lovelyz song when they debuted anyways

    I think i only heard lovelyz a couple of times whereas I heard glass bead at least once a week while out and about in Daegu.

    I think the song is the perfect mix of catchy without being overbearing so its good as background music

    Not much of a fan or anything but I was surprised since they aren't from a big company

  5. YG is doing everything right for CL so far:

    - Getting her out to fashion events

    - Making connections with US artists (ASAP Rocky, Will.i.am, Rita Ora, and the list goes on and on)

    - Featurings with USA artists (will.i.am with 2NE1 both for Getting Dumb and TTWO, Dirty Vibe + Dirty Vibe MV)

    - 2 singles in Korea (they'll prolly be on the album as eng versions)

    - Getting IATB on USA TV including 2NE1 on ANTM

    - Getting CL on magazines with foreign artists and desginers

    - Hooking her up with scooter who will at least get her into the airplay loop

    With a catchy song and video CL could start to make a name for herself and 2NE1

    who knows, I could see Bom featuring on one of CL's tracks

    CL isn't going to be taken seriously enough in Korea simply because she doesn't look they way they want her too

    she can start slow with more featuring later but now its good for her to have an english track out

    What we need to do:

    1. BUY ON ITUNES

    2. Request on the radio

    3. Watch the MV on Youtube

    4. Stream on services like Spotify that count towards Billboard

    5. Share MV on SNS like Facebook and Twitter

    6. Get a twitter hashtag trending worldwide

    ALSO OMG WHO SUGGESTED ARIANA GRANDE? NOOOO

    Her voice is so grating to my ears

    and I want to be able to listen to CL's solos

    I'm sure she's a sweet girl but her voice makes me cringe

  6.

    Here the girl group earning based on Gaon Sales.

    Counts the cumulative digital sales and physical sales that charted on Gaon.

    Assuming that digital download costs $0.5/song, and physical album costs $11/album.

    1. 2NE1

    Digital = 5,227,962 x $0,5 = $2,613,981

    Physical = 70,106 x $11 = $771,116

    Total = $3,385,097

    2. SNSD

    Digital = 1,640,278 x $0,5 = $820,139

    Physical = 183,279 x $11 = $2,016,069

    Total = $2,836,208

    3. F(x)

    Digital = 1,308,980 x $0,5 = $654,490

    Physical = 99,170 x $11 = $1,090,870

    Total = $1,745,360

    4. Apink

    Digital = 1,365,249 x $0,5 = $682,624

    Physical = 85,878 x $11 = $944,658

    Total = $1,627,282

    5. Girls Day (2 album)

    Digital = (1,245,436 + 935,559) = 2,180,995 x $0,5 = $1,090,497

    Physical = 44,711 x $11 = $491,821

    Total = $1,582,318

    6. Sistar (2 album)

    Digital = (1,680,932 + 605,585 ) = 2,286,517 x $0,5 = $1,143,258

    Physical = 19,839 x $11 = $218,229

    Total = $1,361,487

    7. AoA (2 album)

    Digital = (970,860 + 842,161) = 1,813,021 x $0,5 = $906,510

    Physical = 23,444 x $11 = $257,884

    Total = $1,164,394

    8. Orange Caramel (2 album)

    Digital = (948,427 + 257,596) = 1,205,996 x $0,5 = $602,998

    Physical = 13,484 x $11 = $148,324

    Total = $751,322

    see this on allkpop forum.

    SLAY 2NE1

    LOLOLLOLOLOL 50 cents per song?

    someone is dreaming

    who did this horrible math?

    Songs in Korea are more like 20 cents per song on average

    the most expensive download i've seen is 60 cents

    cheapest is 6 cents...

    50 cents is not the average

    and streaming is peanuts too

    and this would be GROSS REVENUE

    not earnings

    2NE1 as a whole would get 5-10% of that

    then split by 4 members

    and albums $11?

    no

    MAYBE a mini album but not a full album

    even a mini at $11 is cheap

    Here are more realistic numbers:

    Downloads 25 cents each x 5,227,962 = $1,306,991

    Crush $17.50 x 64,190 = $1,123,325

    AON Live $20 x 4,998 = $99,960

    2nd Mini $12 x 918 = $11,016

    Total Physical Sales: $1,234,301

    TOTAL GROSS REVENUE: $2,541,292

    of course that is an estimate based on 25 cents per download which is much closer to a real average than 50 cents but averages will vary based on which packages people buy

    Melon's middle package of 5 is 50 downloads for 7,900 won or 158 won per download or 16 cents. Plus all you can stream for $5.50 per month.

    if the members get 7%, which is a decent estimate then they got $177,890 or $44,473 each

    They make as much each doing a couple of concerts

  7. No they did! ^^ I got it from Gaon's Album chart :P From May/June & August

    No they did not.

    GAON has 3 charts for physical albums

    Domestic (êµë‚´)

    Foreign (국외)

    and Combined (종합)

    When you click on the album chart you get the default chart which is the combined chart

    which si why you sometimes see western artists on it

    but if you click the domestic chart Jun.k and Junho do not appear

    if you click the foreign chart they do appear
