  1. Is there a thread like this that includes solo artists?

I figure I should post on there too...

Why is this only groups btw? Just wondering.

I feel like I'm missing songs, should I just make a new thread and hope people who stans those artists see it?

  2. BTS' Fire reached 400 million views in 2 years, 3 months and 16 days (838 days). This is BTS' and Kpop groups in general 2nd MV to reach this milestone. Congrats!

Looks nice! In the OP is the spreadsheet where are all the noted down data is in; unfortunately not to much older MVs but there are some in there due to their high views. Might be worth checking out if you want to compare!

Thanks, yes the higher MVs that are 80 million + have been tracked due to most watched lists but That's usually top 5 or top 10 of any given year only. Let me know if you see any errors in the lists!

For 2015 I managed to find a ranking from mid-December 2015, so you can see how views and rankings changed since then
If anyone has year end lists from these respective years (like what were most viewed at the end of 2014), I'd love that!

  3. Hey guys, I've been tracking current MVs views for songs from 2008-2015.

It's a big undertaking so I'm sure I've made mistakes and missed songs, so if you guys could look the info over and give me some feedback I'd appreciate it.

    * means the MV was posted later than it's release year (so song came out in 2008 but was only uploaded in 2011 for example)

** means I combined the top 2 videos of the song I could find (exact same MV)

I may have combined some songs and forgot to use the ** so if you see that please let me know

    Here is 2008 TOP 20:

If anyone is wondering why Kara and After School seems so low/MVs are missing, Pledis and DSP dropped the ball and didn't post some older videos. I can't find Kara's Wanna anywhere on DSP or Kara's Youtube and After School's 2009 releases are from fan uploads...

Having some formatting issues, will post 2012-2015 in the morning.

  4. yeah that would be alot more work tbh. its not difficult to figure out how much an album sold in 2017 if it was released in 2016, just look at 2016 sales and then subtract. ^^ but if enough people think it needs to be changed, i'll think about it. i should also mention the oricon year ends before the real new year so ... you still might be confused.

    bgELZa6.jpg

    bts total: 348,347

So do you follow Oricon 2017 or calendar 2017?

How would you figure out which were 2016 sales and which were 2017?

What about those charting from 2015?

Back in the day (when I was running it) this thread had yearly based on Oricon's year on OP

and totals for groups under their group name, including DVD/BLURAY

but I guess do w.e works for you...

I'll use Generasia to get updates

  5. I mean I could separate the past releases into one section and the current releases in another. i'll think about it, but it might look messy. Oricon charts are cumulative so if a release shows up on the chart i'd have to keep some kind of data that shows only sales for that year.

No I mean on the first post

    It says 2017 sales

under that should be only whatever an album sold in 2017

and the posts with the artists would have the overall sales, updated yearly...

or title it "Albums that charted in 2017 with their overall sales"
