It's always so fun when you're expectations are defied. The classy (oldest) visual turning out to have a streak of boyishness/playfulness and a penchant for dad jokes. But I never felt Jin was boring or bland to begin with. His personality was always flashing here and there when he was still expected to go with the concept and tone it down a bit, it's just that he totally let it run rampant now. And I love seeing him enjoying this freedom. He's hilarious.

But I don't think it's fair to imply that someone is not being real and is "forcing a character". I'm sure you meant nothing bad by it, but I've already seen enough dragging inspired by this and have to say sth about it.

One of the reasons that made me love BTS so much is how genuine all of them are - to the extent that it is possible to witness their character, of course. It's foolish to assume that fans could know everything about idols. You can't even know everything about the character of a person you're close with irl. But if you pay enough attention to all of them, it is possible to see enough to make one realize how interesting guys BTS are. It's all there (and confirmed by them talking about off-camera behavior and character). Just because some characteristics are not that obvious it doesn't mean they're non-existent or that someone is being fake. People are multi-layered, after all, and our personality fluid to some degree. Plus, we approach situations differently, if someone chooses to show you more of one side of his personality maybe he has a reason for it which stems from his personal attitudes and beliefs. Which again brings us to genuineness. The belief that is making them do it is a part of them which shapes the way they act. Isn't that real?

It's obvious they're not forced anymore to go with a concept.

In Jin's case there was no need for the "aloof visual" concept anymore when it became clear BTS are boyz with fun. :hurr: And it was clear he never had any desire or internal reason to go with such an image so he dropped it.

Anyway, I love all they are showing us so far. I feel it's a real part of who they are and I respect their more or less conscious choice to show what they want to show us.

Geez... long...again... time for bed for me too obviously.  :derp:

Yesss more love for Jin :chu:  He's always been a bit awkard in the beginning, I feel like he was confused with his concept, but I love how he gets more and more consistently dorkier. I feel like since the release of Awake, people have complimented him more, and he seems less unconfident in his vocals. I'm really glad he shows his dorkier side, he's so cute.

  2. Tis TaeTae in his truest form  :hurr:

Actually, I do think he cares but just doesn't let it show. He can be somewhat enigmatic. I mean I've noticed sometimes when people box him in, he doesn't make it a point to correct them. He seems more interested in personal relationships than public perception. Like when whatshisname called him a dumb blonde, he was disappointed for a millisecond then was just like whatever man and rolled with it.

^ That's very true, I think he's also smart at knowing when to care about things and when to just shrug it off. His instinct is very strong, and thats also what's scary/genius about him lol.

I love reading about him so much lolol I like seeing ARMYs type out essays on why they like XX in BTS, it's always very interesting to see.

AAh omg I love reading all these about how smart Tae is, to be honest I got into BTS because at first I wanted to diss them, then I watched Blood, Sweat and Tears and was shocked at how good it was. And in that MV, Taehyung caught my attention immediately, the blonde hair blue eyes and his shocking visual made him look ethereal, I thought he stepped out of an anime or he underwent a lot of photoshop / surgery. Then I realized he was just that good looking :rlytearpls: :rlytearpls:  and I went on to watch his fancams and learnt so much about BTS after watching all their BST stages.

I'm offtopic, but anyway, my first impression of him, since I joined in the BST era, was that he was very smart / cold and the chic member of BTS. It really shocked me when I got to know more and he's so cute and soft and pure ??? I really think he is a beautiful person, and I understand why people love him so much :chu: :chu: He's a genius at stage presence honestly

Honestly I stan Jin and not Taehyung even though he is my first bias and what got me into BTS, because I think Jin needs more fans, and Jin also reminds me of myself in that we are very awkard. But Taehyung I think will always have a special part in my heart, he is so beautiful and pure and he has so many sides to him. I love that he's getting recognition for his good acting and people have a better impression of him, it broke my heart when he was under slander for pulling a girl's hair. I hope he doens't get any scandal when acting at Hwarang, I'm thankful he managed to capture the hearts of his seniors so they will help him out and have his back :chu:

  4. I am so happy that he finally got his debut as an actor :rlytearpls: It's so obvious how passionate he is about acting. Even in the past interviews his eyes used to sparkle whenever he talked about it~ and used to get really excited and enthusiastic about it like "Should I act? Should I do some imitations?" and then the hosts had to calm him down by saying "yes yes we understand" lol

And his acting has always been flawless even since their Rookie king days which really wowed me  :stare:

This is just me sharing something about Tae in rookie king so putting it under spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen it yet :3

Since Rookie king was one of my first BTS variety shows, V's acting as an X-man in the last episode really came as a huge surprise to me.

He was so smart and sly throughout the episode. Intentionally putting his hand outside the limited area so that he loses but went on to win the game at the end. Confusing and tricking everyone. Being all sneaky and carried out all the tasks of the X-man so smoothly without anyone noticing. At the end when some members suspected him of being an x-man he purposely diverted all their attention to Jin by saying his name, manipulated all their votes and was saved from being found out by the members. Was not even in the top 3 suspects OTL

All of this really shocked me because I didn't know he has always been this witty and good at acting ever since their rookie days. The fact that he looked like an innocent puppy all the time didn't help either /o

Also apart from his naturally brilliant acting skills I think how cleverly he makes his decisions at the right time and his instincts really helps him out in these situations.

Tae has always been pretty amazing and gifted <33 I am happy with his skills and talents being more polished now he is getting plenty of deserved praise for it  :chu: :ahmagah: He needs all the love and appreciation he can get

And ofc Tae makes a very cute little joker too   <33

I was laughing so much at the heart-shaped balloon attached to the pole   Ughh why is he is such a cutie >3<

And he is full of manners too  :ahmagah:

There was a post on pann about Tae telling Go-Ara to be careful when coming down the stairs. So sweet  :rlytearpls:

    So puppylike and adorable  :chu:

This is a bit offtopic, but I've always thought Taetae is really a genius type, like he's so cute but he gets everyone eating out of the palm of his hand. He knows exactly what to do or say to charm people, when I first saw him I thought he was very sneaky / smart. Not in a bad way, but like wow you really cannot underestimate him in a kind of way. Like how he also sabotaged Jin/Jungkook/Jimin's soup in the Rookie King competition, and when he punishes his elders, etc whacking Jin, he would like pretend to countdown, but smacked Jin's butt earlier so it's more shocking/pain.

I think he's really smart but it honestly scares me how good his people instinct is, like also how he can control his stage presence so well @_@ it feels like he'll snatch your heart without you knowing, and you won't even know it. I'm surprised you brought this up, I wanted to ask if anyone feels like Tae is very sneaky / smart / genius lol, it scares me but he's so adorable lol

aah I'm a Jin bias but Taehyung is definitely a bias wrecker

  5. Hwarang also isn't available in my country (Singapore) on Viki, I can't even stream it on KBS World because it's not allowed in my area or sth :donthinkso: :donthinkso:

But anyway, I just saw their performance, and it looks so lonely without Suga :( Especially at 2:45, where no one is there to choke Taehyung, and when J-Hope walks past, it looks so empty :rlytearpls:
I miss our Suga :rlytearpls: :rlytearpls: , I hope he gets well soon and has no more problems with his ear

  6. MEEE IT'S SO GOOD

OMG I can't wait for them to reveal who the King is, I'm hooked on it

The only issue I have is that sometimes the characters look similar so I get confused, but the story of this manga is really good and fun to read.

  7. I'm also actually hoping that the silhouettes show who's surviving among the hwarang XD

But did u guys hear abt the other "theory" twitter ARMY made? XD I mean it's twitter, we should take everything with a grain of salt there...but it also kinda makes sense??? In the simplest of ways, it makes sense :wth: ...but at the same time it sounds really delulu and paranoid :har:

Apparently since in the poster found in the tweet I'll link below, all characters but Hansung have green leaves in the bg, Hansung has the sky as the background, so it symbolizes him being dead and living up in 'heaven' XD

I think most ARMY just became really paranoid because of bighit tbh, but eversince it's been pointed out, it bothers me that his background does not match with everyone else's. Everytime I see it, a slightly OCD part of me gets ticked off :unimpressed:

Also, tbh I actually wouldn't mind if his character would die, as long as he's alive for most eps, which is already given since apparently he'll appear in ep 18. Only 2 eps away from the end. I'll admit, it's probs gonna be sad, but I actually want a big scene for him to prove his acting skills, not that he won't prove his skills in other scenes, because I'm sure he will, but I think i just want a huge plot changing scene from his character. Ofc, I'd prefer if his character wouldn't die tho XD A scene can be huge and plot changing also without any death. (don't mind this rambling mess of a paragraph lmao, just wanted to say smthg, but I'm in vacation mode. Idk if I got my point across XD )

The director in an interview said that we would be impressed by his acting in ep 17 and 18. If that is his death scene, and he acts well, it'll be good though, he goes out with a bang and we gain sympathy for his character. Honestly I'd be so sad if he dies, especially since he's the cute character, but if he does I would cry and love Hansung (and Tae) even more xD

  8. So I was worried how Taehyungs acting debut would go, but he is actually decent in what we have seen so far - Minho on the other hand omfg.. I can't stop cringing.

IKR, but I haven't watched enough of Minho's acting before Hwarang - I can't tell if it is the character Suho that's a huge cringe or it's Minho's acting lol

Not gonna lie though, I fangirled when he came out  :ahmagah:

  9. Hirunaka no Ryuusei if you like shoujo? The art improves slowly through the manga, 78 chapters.

For shounen-ai I would recommend Seven Days although that's only 14 chapters I think?

EDIT: Oh, I also second Claymore, it's a really fun manga to read if you don't mind gore :) Lots of cool scenes
