  1. I was rewatching some old BTS fancams, when Yoongi raps his part in Dope, at the part where he says "girls, make some noise!", he pulls his in-ears out and literally listens to the fans screaming @ 2:47 BTS group fancams are such a joy to watch because of how good their stage presence is, and how their choreos are so clean. I love watching their choreo transitions, sometimes with other groups I get confused at where / what they're moving. I never noticed that because I didn't know Korean or Dope lyrics that well, but I memorized their lyrics and now holy hell that part is just so cool
  2. Loved the latest run episode, honestly Jin had me cackling up, and boi looks so good with his black hair, round specs and dangling earring Click here to view the Tweet
  3. i forgot to reply, but yeah tbh my whole analysis start from me being irritated at people who just say Mic Drop is arrogant and the album is shallow and heteronormative... me being angry at those people and trust in BTS track record of their careful hints and lyrics lead to me thinking deeper and digging all on the net for analysis I guess it's good if it's both simple, so people who don't like to analyze can read it... but for those people *cough haters* who like to analyze... but don't analyze... no words......
  4. I can't, this run ep The highlight for me is really Sin team, both are hilarious And Jin looks so good with glasses and dangling earring How is he real?!
  5. That's an interesting look, I think it's possible, because DNA and Serendipity sound like they're convincing themselves about fate and destiny but then it becomes darker til Sea and Outro: Her. The order also fits because Best of Me and Dimple is before Pied Piper. When you put it that way, it sounds like when they start fangirling over minor things like dimples then they see their grades dropping and they realize they've fallen too much Honestly that is quite an accurate observation omg it sounds like a typical ARMY's falling in love with bts Honestly I'd love if their next album is recovering and having a healthier outlook but that was kind of Spring Day / YNWA, so maybe it's darker. But with Bangtan you never know. I never expected Her to have such a sound. Also thanks for reading it all You make me feel like my 5 hours did not go to waste xD This is so cute! It's also from my country lmao, I see random ppl doing dance covers of BTS in school, but omg this is so cute to see ahjussis and ahjaes doing it xD
  6. So it's been about a month since BTS released their Love Yourself album, and I finally got around to digging some time up to analyze it... And I thought I'd share some of my ramblings / thoughts on the lyrics here with you guys. My thoughts can be summed up in 3 things: 1. Lyrics analysis + a bit of MV analysis (Album's theme of unhealthy and obsessive love + relationships) 2. The difference between Mic Drop and their other diss tracks 3. Why the album is easier to stereotype as a typical album about love I'll put it under spoiler because it is very long :/ I didn't even know it would get this long, but yeah. Go Go in the context of the album's obsessive love thing though, it's fitting since they chose money. Love of money is something that all of us obsess over, whether or not we like it, since money makes the world go round and we have to budget, plan, everything around money. It may not be a form of love, but it's something obsessive. I like this comment: Finally, Sea. Sea is the song in the album that is the most heartwrenching imo and also the most direct. In this case, I think they are talking about BTS relationship with being an idol, and how it takes up so much of their life. It's pretty straightforward, we know behind the pretty stages and clothes and makeup, being an idol is also very suffering at times. I dont have much to say about it, because honestly the song makes me a bit too uncomfortable because it hits me too hard. It took me several months to listen to Spring Day without crying, this one just makes me very sad and I still can't listen to it because my current situation is still a desert :/ Where there are hope, there are trials I don’t wanna cry I don’t wanna rest No, who cares if we rest a little? No no no I don’t wanna lose It’s always a desert I told you everything Then I’ll just be more depressed So according to my theory and analysis, each song in this album seems to have a different unhealthy or obsessive form of love. Serendipity: unhealthy expectations and wanting of love DNA: unhealthy belief that their love is fated and destined to be Best of Me: the unhealthy relationship an idol has with their fans, very codependant Dimple: unhealthy obsession over minor things Pied Piper: the unhealthy relationship of the fans towards the idols Mic Drop: the unhealthy obsession haters have towards BTS Go Go: the unhealthy but neccessary obsession towards money Outro: Her: the two sides of the unhealthy relationship and them acknowledging it Sea: the unhealthy part of being an idol and how it consumes their life, almost like an obsession So now, number 3, why is it easy to look over these and write the album off as not very deep? The answer is quite simple, it's hidden in plain sight. Ironically, media has for a long time, an unhealthy view and showcase of love. If you're into feminism or not, you'll remember the time when guys making aggressive advances on girls was seen as romantic. So many love songs nowadays tend to sneak in some small fate and destiny reference, like my examples of Miss Right and Converse High, they say things like "you're from a novel", "you're just my type" and use all kinds of fantastic examples like calling people an angel, a beauty, etc. Everything BTS are saying in DNA, it will sound like a rehash of a song lyric you've heard somewhere before, because it is. You've heard the same fate and destiny spew before, this is BTS just hamming it up. You won't realize it until you realize that's all they talk about the entire song. All the things they talk about in each song are mostly things you already know, you might know deep down the relationship isn't very healthy, you've have seen people fangirling over small things on Twitter, deep down I know I spend 5 hours writing this essay instead of doing my work. You already know that it's not a healthy love, the difference is that whether or not you're self-aware of it and doing something about it. Some people just go about their lives knowing it's an unhealthy love and they never do anything about it, just sweep it under the rug. I feel like the album's main message is very simple. Love Yourself has a healthy theme and connotation, it's a healthy form of love where you take care of yourself and do what you need. It's very fitting that for the first start to the series, in order to love yourself and be healthy and good, you must first accept that there are unhealthy relationships all around you in your life, and it's not just between people. Then I guess you either cope with it, improve it, or manage it until you get to a better place. Which I guess will appear in the next album. If you've read all the way, then wow you're amazing If you gave up, I totally understand man. No way am I myself looking at this. BTS drives me to do crazy things. I should have split up my thoughts into smaller sections so more people would read this and also discuss with me, but my masochistic ass decided to oneshot it Am I crazy? Is my theory off the mark? Is this too deep? I took lit class so I wanna know if people also feel the same way or I'm totally off
  7. i like the female officers in the audience the hyped up ones, their faces are like :D the entire time
  8. i like the female officers in the audience the hyped up ones, their faces are like :D the entire time
  9. I came in just to see the end We are so fed nowadays, first the album behind the scenes with Rap Mon, then Jimin's bday vlive, then EatJin then R&V
  10. Okay... I swore to myself I will never watch a variety survival show but the song was good and damn watching that video, everyone felt good in terms of stage presence and dance. Now I'm hype for this show, and also rooting for my bae Woohee Time to fall into survival show hell
  11. BigHit also has Homme but everyone forgets about Homme cuz they're not an idol group lol
  12. I think with the SNSD thing and that, I'll move to Superstar BTS I played all the songs in the game for both JYP and SM and heard cool new songs, but like the system changing and the game was getting a bit boring for me. + SNSD was the group I wanted to make a card on, and I just upgraded all my Tiffany card to R Then the disbandment result comes...
  13. I stopped playing because I ran out of space on my phone then I hear about this I was in the middle of upgrading my SNSD cards before I left, too... I guess it's a good time I stopped playing then
  14. We did one I think! Saucy did it and I can't remember where the thread is now It was after YNWA I think... Or it may have been earlier. I remember Spring Day was high up though so I think it happened. EDIT: Also, for those who have SBS or can't watch Inkigayo in your country, I found a channel where they seem to legally upload the performances :D It's Kocowa TV, they seem to be a new streaming app. This is great since I can finally watch their perfs in HQ. They also all have subs! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kayRltsojqY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fURlNJMkyYE
  15. I expected the thread to be gushing about how cute Jimin is and RM's vlive but what is this About the whole issue: Anyway, about RM's live, he answered a few questions I was wondering about the process, especially the skit. It makes sense they would just sit down and record and later edit And RM singing Serendipidity was so cute, his voice is nice, but Jimin lifting up the song into two pitches higher was really a good move. I like the current Serendipidity. I'm glad he also talked about how J-hope "saved" Mic Drop, imo he's really the star of that song. The lyrics for Mic Drop are one of my favourites. I wonder what Jimin is recording though, and I'll be looking forward to RM making a song for Jin I want to see RM work more with vocal line, he's worked with Jungkook alot, Tae (4oclock), Jimin (Serendipdity) and he says he wants to work with Jin. I can't wait to see what he does with Jin's vocal tone. He brought out Tae's lovely low voice, Jimin's clean vocals, I want to see him make full use of Jin's voice
  16. I feel you When that picture of him was tweeted, I just stared at it for like 5 min wondering how can he exist and then made it my sig and my wallpapers lmao Bless Hobi for taking that picture and stylist noona for giving him black hair
  17. RISE BANGTAN RISE omg the ARMY replies are so savage Click here to view the Tweet Stanning Bangtan is the gift that keeps on giving. I hate Spotify but I kept streaming Her because the album was so nice, I feel like my streams contributed even though I don't think it did that much also im delulu but do you think next comeback we can hit no 1? and next next an all kill?? Also if Bangtan someday achieve world domination and then galactic domination do u think it's possible? We can start with the planet earth and the solar system first. I want even the aliens to be bopping to BTS songs
  18. Sea is one of the sadder and more quiet songs, imo the songs that have similar vibe to it are: 4oclock: by V and RM Always: by RM Life: by RM So far away: by Agust D (Suga) Songs that are mildly similar but are not THAT similar: : group song : RM's solo song : RM predebut solo song cover : Group song, rnb style : group song : V solo song I never noticed RM did most of the sadder songs D: Well on a short answer, it's well known that during a promotion period or non-promotion period, idols don't get a lot of rest and often pull all nighters etc. So if they're still working during one of their few breaks it's pretty bad, since all the other time they are NOT on break, we see info of them doing things like rehearsing dance, photoshoots, cfs, and constantly working. And in Korea the system for all those is much more intense and doesn't always exactly follow a 9-6 schedule, even though there are people who try to put fairer labor laws. It's like the equivalent of lots of overtime constantly I guess?
  19. "My week is Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri Fri Fri" It makes me think of the young ARMY teenage fangirl who has time to fangirl on weekend, then when she becomes an adult, even the weekends aren't free :( Students have school holiday and breaks, but for adults it's just work work work never ending.
