  1. Sea, when you get some time can you update the top 30 most viewed list? I think it might be easier to do it once Mic drop remix hits 200m as both likey and mic drop and maybe even heartshaker might be the only songs moving up the list.
  2. BOOM BOOM has hit 50 Million Views!!!!!! Boom Boom is the 171st most viewed kpop video! They just beat Red Velvet's Rookie! I definitely can see this video hitting 100 million views before the end of summer! Hopefully by the end of year they can appear on sea's top 30 most viewed videos!

  4. I actually think JYP and the board planned this when sixteen aired. They knew SNSD were impaired in the market with the drama of the year before and although initially there were meant to be 7 girls in Twice they didn't expect the massive reaction to the trainees. They did the best move in recent groups when they decided to make it 9 members. The J-trinity was greatly planned and I think JYP needed a reason to give Momo sympathy as she was the japanese trainee with the least amount of personality so he got rid of her early on and then later said he regretted getting rid and brought her back in finale and addiny Tzuyu was genius because he could use her to target taiwan and china but he didn't foresee the chinese blockade (no korean entertainment company saw it coming). I thought she was talented but boring. Sana was always the standout for me. They expected to launch in Japan and Twice have benefited from debuting in Japan within two years of their Korean debut (rookie age). As a recent JYP worker said in a magazine interview about partnering up with the Japanese label to promote Twice they said they noted that Twice had an edge that second generation hallyu stars didn't have which was that some of the early growth can be experienced by the japanese fandoms as well. When they do mature those are going to be massive sales in Japan which will far outweigh the revenue earned from korean promotions. The girls don't seem feisty either which bodes well for promotions in Japan. I remember a certain feisty-ness that second generation idols had that the third generation lack. Members like Jessica, Sooyoung, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Gyuri had is no longer there. I remember seeing a documentary which aired footage from SM board meetings where a director set out that they will market SNSD to women in Japan as the men will like them anyway and the feistyness of members were appreciated in Japanese test audiences. Let's remember Japan like young trainees and they like to see the trainees grow in their eyes. It makes the idols more appealing to Japanese markets. Twice are already breaking records and I am not surprised to learn about their japanese views taking over korean ones. Twice will never make it in the USA but I think the JYPNGG will have a youtube appeal to more western audiences. I wonder if the new blackpink video will break the 15/17m barrier in the first 24hours.
  5. I think a solo section should spice things up. I'm sure Jihyo, Nayeon, Wendy, etc all will be having solo hits soon and I don't mean rubbish B sides. Something on the level of Taeyeon's I would be great. Also we have solo artists like Chungha and Some 2nd generation solos. I can see Minzy having a decent youtube following with a finished song as opposed to a demo like she released last year. Let's not forget the male solos. I'm glad J-hope is doing well with his solo release. I hope in the end BTS can create a greater legacy than Big bang! Some might argue that their influence already is greater than Big Bang ever reached and that is reflected in Youtube viewings. DNA will hit 350 pretty soon and it will be the most viewed group video. Of course on sites like Kworb, Psy takes the top 3 rankings but with the growth of BTS I think their next release if as catchy as DNA will hit 500 million in no time! Let's not forget the current hitmakers like momoland, with sustained hit releases in the future, they can challenge big 3 girl groups hopefully! Although I loved Twice in their first year, the monotoneness of their recent releases have diminished their edge. I hope the next release isn't a rehash of their previous hits. Thats one thing SNSD did that Twice haven't replicated or outdone! SNSD are the queen of concepts both musically and visually. Twice are still being marketed as a cute group and with JYPNGG on their way, TWICE haven't established a unique image in the market yet as much as SNSD did and for Once's the comparison will always exist. It's not fair but it will exist. I think the fact that their recent Youtube videos haven't shown major growth in views. For example BTS Jumped from 10m for Not today/spring day releases to 20m for DNA. That shows growth. I understand that its still an industry in favor of male groups but SNSD beat the odds and I keep waiting for Twice to wow me. I think Momoland might be the one to do with 1/10th of Jyp's budget. I fully support the OP having a new section for solo youtube records.
  6. Good luck! I think as someone else said, linking your spreadsheet in the OP is a good idea! I'm really glad Momoland has just entered the top 200 most viewed kpop videos of all time! http://kworb.net/youtube/topvideos_korean.html << I usually use kworb as they give live updates on youtube stats, you might want to favorite them Sea!
  7. I just logged in (which I rarely do) to thank you for your hardwork in keeping this going. Its not easy as butt-hurt fandoms tend to stalk your twitter etc... Best of luck!
  8. I posted earlier on the IOI topic but I guess I need to ask here. Will Somi be added to Twice? Group members not stay the same for JYP artists *cough* wonder girls *cough*. JYP never intended on making a 9 member group and is it confirmed whether Somi will be added to Twice before their US debut?
  9. What's going to happen to Somi? Will she be added to Twice? I don't think a 10 member band will be impossible but the truth behind twice is that when sixteen happened, JYP was only planning on starting a 7 member group but in that time things exploded when Jessica was kicked out and there was a market for a new gg with 9 members so it was never planned but came from opportunity created by the SM mess. Since JYP (the company) has seen the sucess with ioi, Will they expand twice for Somi?
  10. I don't know the rules about promoting kpop on other forums are but I've been a member of ukmix for years now. Not much of a kpop scene on there but there are about 4/6 of us. We have a ongoing competition there to see the Ultimate female acts. I would love for a kpop band to win it for a year and do a major upset!
  11. I watched 16! My bias changes everyday, I love the fact that the group is so multicultural. It's so refreshing.
  12. Will SM add more members to Red Velvet or will they debut a new girl group? If I remember correctly, Snsd debuted in 07 and Fx in 09 so the timeframe is correct.
  13. Hello to everyone here. Desperately hoping they prolong the contracts of the girls so We can have another year of iOI
  14. Hey Guys, I've just joined but was welcomed to here! Can't wait for TT to hit 150k on Hanteo!
