How are the Japanese media reacting to the first episode?

I feel as though Blinks are having an SNSD 'You think' moment. I'm sure they will break the 24 hours record and be in the top 5 up until the 150m records but this time I'm not feeling the love for this track personally. The MV is amazing but the track isn't hence the You think comparison. Either way it will be the last I speak of it as I don't want to ruin the hype but its a gut instinct and they prove to be right.

BOOM BOOM should be 27th on the all time list now.

I agree with everyone that we should definitely get rid of the 10/20/30/40m records and jump straight to 50m/100m/150m/200m with verified 24hr views from youtube.

I think in light of fairness where other groups like twice and blackpink don't get verified views confirmations lets leave everything as is and not include the verified views? I think everyone would agree with that otherwise its a headache for Sea and some fandoms would feel like this thread isn't what it is. I think that due to the way things turned out- armys would definitely support that.

The best result would be if people didn't bot it. Also I really don't trust Google/Youtube. The more verified views- the more money they have to pay to Bighit.

Now that Youtube has verified the first 24 hours views- we should have total for the first 24 hours as the verified figure but we can't by any means verify now how and when each of the thresholds within 30 million were met therefore we should keep the 10,20,30m milestones as is and count properly from now on as the views aren't likely to be uber inflated.

Guys I can explain the Kworb numbers (as I refer to them too often here- sorry Sea!) The Kworb figures are not reliable for first 24 hours as there is a lag of usually 4-6 hours of a video being released and kworb tracking its views.So when bts was added to kworb it already had like 8m views and then they started tracking from there. Youtube was right to release the statement- I hope they release one about BTS as well. For example for Momoland's BB was added to the tracking list in late February so for the views it had already accrued by that point, they divided the views by the amount of days and came up with a 700k views per day up until they started tracking. I wouldn't rely on Kworbs figure for biggest day numbers but generally they are good for hour-hour updates and you can see when a video is expected to hit a certain threshold.

Momoland will take probably 7th place on the fastest to 150m list! only 10/12 days left!

I'm really proud of Twice's and Blackpinks achievement! These girls are coming from societies that are still not equal in the fight of gender equality but these young women can be proud that their efforts are making a difference in pushing that boundary/envelope. I hope BTS can achieve even better results this comeback and show that kindness, empathy, trump hate and Conservative-ness usually supported by religion or archaic beliefs. Proud of all 3 - I hope all of these performers get paychecks worth their effort and not just look pretty whilst all the traditional shareholders use and throw away them whilst retaining the cash. Youtube is one metric to measure their performance but its important nonetheless.

Hopefully Blackpink can get more western audiences interested with this comeback! I'm just greedy for the crossover views for Momoland.

I don't think you understand how the records work. Its the fastest for each 10 million until 100 then its the major milestone every 50 million. Only for the major milestones will full records be kept e.g. 50,100,150,200. Your efforts are appreciated but you've failed to recognise the pattern. Also things like 50 and 100 all the records are being constantly broken! Which means that the newer/quicker records will edge out slower/older records.

Because as sealien stated Their trailer is the second fastest video to hit 5 million! In the few hours since they released their trailer, BOOM BOOM views has stabilised whilst twice is crashing out despite being the more popular girl group. Thus meaning that there is a positive correlation between Boom Boom and BTS releasing their trailer. Also, a lot of BOOM BOOM views originate from East Asia at the present, the few hours since the release of the trailer, it was the middle of the night in East Asia whereas it was afternoon in the USA, so it makes sense that people in the USA who checked out the BTS trailer also clicked and continued to watch BOOM BOOM for the views to be counted towards the view count. Are those enough reasons why I made my comment? I would never self censor to appease insecurities of others.

in the last 3 hours the views for boom boom are staying incredibly stable when usually this time on a sunday they start to crash down. Could it be Euro/American Armies are checking out Boom boom after the BTS video? it doesn't fit the Boom Boom view pattern. Its nearly 4amin Seoul/ 5 in tokyo etc. So the views from western countries must be keeping the viewcount stable? I think Armies are more likely to check out Boom Boom as there is no rivalry as of yet between the fandoms and Boom boom is a cool song to goof off to?

I didn't have to but when comparing and settings targets, its good to acknowledge milestones. It doesn't reduce those groups achievements but rather highlights the success of BB even more!

They've done wonderfully! Boom Boom is now more viewed than any single MV by both FX and Red Velvet!

No matter the stanning or trolling what Momoland will achieve this year will be a wonder! They have managed to peak in terms of daily youtube viewership in the last week! and they might be on track to hit 1.5/1.6m daily views this Saturday. They've already managed to outperform SM's last two girls groups with one video for highest individual video views (FX&RV). Thats quite an achievement considering in January no one knew who they were. Secondly at the current pace they are on track to hit 200m views in july perhaps with an average of 209 days to achieve that! At current numbers that would land them the 6th place at 200m! Their views are blowing up in the Philippines &Vietnam! They also definitely benefited from Twice's April comeback as it has lead to a significant increases in daily viewers for youtube. Also their Japanese MV will have a positive effect on their Korean MV as well! I can't wait for their impact in Japan! These girls went from nearly disbanding to having the greatest success imaginable to a non big 3/nugu group. After they hit 200m in July/ maybe in June if they manage to have record increases, they will have 6 months to hit 300m! Thats amazing for a rookie group. According to Kworb they will enter their all time most viewed mvs on youtube in a couple of days. They are also the most viewed MV released this year (until BTS and Blackpinks comeback in May). They are trailing only DNA and Mic Drop for the overall most viewed MV but since Mic Drop is crashing in views and DNA is back to 1m+ daily views according to Kworb, they will definitely be the 2nd most viewed overall Kpop MV this year! They will only surpass DNA if they continue to break their own daily record on youtube! I wouldn't worry blinks! I think YG is doing a SM circa 2008/ and remember what happened to SNSD in 2009! I hope Blackpink can have another record breaking hit! The wait is probably about behind the scenes clearance's for songs etc. Remember SNSD filmed dancing queen in 2008 and after everything didn't get the full rights by duffy to release it. I do however hope for a physical release from Blackpink if its a full album!

Momoland have hit 70m. In lieu of this thread that might not seem such a big achievement but in two days time they will be the most viewed kpop video published this year! After that they are on track to hit 100m by the end of April. Although I think the end of promotions might mean a drop in video views. Either way, I believe they will enter the 100m atleast this year and will join the top 20 most viewed group views.

BB is officially the 125th Kpop music related video on youtube!!!
