  1. Hongki's and Hweseungs collaboration was so good. It reminded me a lot of Lovesick 2017 too. I have to admit I probably wouldn't have liked it nearly as much with any other singers. I'm so happy that Hongki finally has someone that matches him so well outside of FTISLAND. AND PLANET BONDS IS RELEASED TOMORROW! I AM NOT READY!
  2. OMG CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHIBI COUPLE (yes that's what I call them) I am so happy for Minhwan and Yulhee. I hope the pregnancy goes well and that their wedding is beautiful.
  3. It's been so long since I saw Hongki and Geunsuk together... It's gonna be great if they have scenes together. Those two spell mischief of massive proportions.
  4. I am so incredibly biased with this drama. I want more Lee Hongki/PK So far I really like all the characters because despite their supernatural nature they do feel like real people. Ma Wang reminds me a lot of Willy Wonka/Jack Sparrow for some reason and I absolutely love his slightly overdramatic speech-pattern. It suits the character incredibly well. I also can't quite figure out if he's meant to be an antagonist or not at this point, and that's not a bad thing at all. I love that there aren't really any clear sides here. PK so far seems to be an exaggerated version of Lee Hongki himself which is also something I love (I actually cried and laughed when they used FTISLAND's perfomance at KCON Paris to introduce him). I wonder if the writers have taken some inspiration from the man himself. I want much more of him though... Oh Gong is a great main character so far. As mentioned in the lovely re-cap states, he's not a regular hero. His moral dilemma is hilarious to witness and it certainly has the potential to bring a lot of humour. I don't quite have a grasp on him either at this point but it seems he might have tried to become a deity before being kicked out of Heaven... I'm not sure if I got that part right though. And I actually really like our female lead so far. She isn't a damsel in distress even if she's saved a lot (I give her a pass because she's attacked by demons and she's human). I hope she won't be someone who gets in trouble all the time just to have the male characters run in and rescue her though. I look forward to meeting the zombie-girl too, I'm hoping for her to NOT be a 3rd/4th wheel in a love-triangle/square.
  5. I was so shocked reading the news yesterday. I remember so clearly seeing SHINee and FTISLAND on several shows together and them being the youngest in the whole industry. I can't fathom the pain Jonghyun must've been in. I relate so much with Jonghoon's post, it expresses the shock of it. Jaejin's post made me smile a little. Hongki's made me want to cry. Minhwan's post broke me, I didn't cry until I saw that post. Seunghyun has posted now too but I don't know Korean so I can't translate it but the picture is from Maknae Rebellion. The members have all gone to the memorial service. I sincerely hope Jonghyun is at a place where he's not in pain anymore.
  6. It seems to have been confirmed? I don't know how to handle this. Please be wrong... PLEASE BE SOME KIND OF CRUEL JOKE! This is... just... no! I hope he is at peace wherever he is. EDIT: Accidental double post
  7. It seems to have been confirmed? I don't know how to handle this. Please be wrong... PLEASE BE SOME KIND OF CRUEL JOKE! This is... just... no! I hope he is at peace wherever he is.
  8. I wonder what made Hongki disable comments on his IG posts and remind fans that he's not their boyfriend. I'm slightly amazed that there are still people like that among Primadonnas.Maybe they're new since he's been on a lot of shows this year? It's fine to have fantasies but don't put them online... I don't get delusional fans like that. Especially not with FTISLAND since they've NEVER uttered the phrase "I'm dating my fans". I also kind of hope he's dating, though he's probably too busy at the moment.
  9. I'm tagging all my music files with lyricists/composers/producers and I've found that BTS doesn't list them separately on most of the albums. This is driving me insane. I also hate doing the tagging for BTS albums as well as albums from SM artists because THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED.
  10. I'd love them to have a debut in Japan! If they work with some Japanese composers/arrangers/producers they'd definitely get some fresh perspective. Going to Japan was the best thing that happened to FTISLAND back in the day, not for their popularity but definitely for their musicality. If they debut in Japan I really hope they actually immerse themselves in the band-culture there since it's a lot healthier than the band-culture in Korea at the moment. The reason FTISLAND and CNBLUE, do so well in Japan is that they made a lot of effort to do that, the latter even debuted as an indie band in Japan before their Korean debut. I feel like 2PM has done a really good job of that as well so I'm fairly confident that DAY6 can do it too, being from the same agency. They'd probably have more chances of playing live in Japan as well. I know they've had live gigs in Korea and they had a U.S. tour if I remember correctly, I feel like Japan is on another lever for live bands though so that would benefit them greatly too.
  11. I have actually listened to every single song they've released so far and I absolutely love some of them (most notably "I Wait" and "How Can I Say"). I appreciate that their lyrics (I haven't had time to check out ALL of them yet, but I have read most of the title tracks) follow a storyline. I think maybe I would've appreciated it more if I didn't get them fed to me on a monthly basis but rather as one cohesive album from the start. That's just me though. What I've noticed about their songs, and this is MY experience only, is that they start out really strong ("Dance Dance" for example) but when the chorus hits it kind of fizzles out somehow. Obviously this is subjective so I'm not saying it's bad. I don't have a specific genre in mind but I feel like they're missing just that little something for me. And I'm sure that as they gain experience and meet more musicians they'll grow. Working with other arrangers would probably do them good too. And I think I might be absolutely crucified for saying this but I don't enjoy Jae's and Wonpil's voices nearly as much as I like Sungjin's and Young K's. I absolutely adore the fact that they clearly think a lot about the line distribution though so I'm not gonna say more about it. And I'd like to be very clear that I don't think Jae or Wonpil are bad singers, I just don't love their voices. I always look forward to what they release because I love bands in general. And since I'm not super-familiar with their b-sides (I've listened to them but I've gone through over 3000 songs over the past couple of weeks so I don't remember them clearly) I'd love to get some recommendations
  12. I agree with what you said in the spoiler. It's kind of getting a little (an I hate to say this) repetitive and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Young K writes most of the lyrics. I miss some variety in the lyric-department (also in the instrumentals to be honest). None of the songs are bad, individually they're pretty good, but I want more, I want them to step out of their comfort-zone. I think maybe working with someone other than Hong Ji Sang and Collapsedone would help them. Both of those composers/producers are really good and experienced but I want DAY6 to experiment with other people to collaborate with. In a sense I think they need more people to learn from. I think it would be interesting to have them work with Kim Chang Rock (who's worked a lot with FTISLAND and CNBLUE) for example. There are several others but I can't think of their names at the moment. I was so ready to stan DAY6 at the beginning of the year because there's a serious shortage of bands in the mainstream k-pop community and I really want them to be amazing but I fear they're getting a little stuck. It's not that I want them to completely change their style or content, I just want a bit more variety. Please don't hate me for this one because I genuinely WANT to love DAY6.
  13. I have to admit I haven't been really blown away by any of their title tracks since "How Can I Say?" this year but the new teaser sounds really promising. I'm more of a casual listener than a fan of DAY6 but I'm really happy there are more bands around now (even if I don't like all of them) but the way MAMA treated them wasn't right. They should have gotten their own stage (though the collab was good). I kinda hope they don't do another year of monthly releases because I felt like a lot of them started sounding the same. Individually the songs were really good but listening to all of them in one go was a mistake, at least for me. If they don't release as often they'll probably put out even greater things since they won't empty their creative box as much. I also hope they could work with a wider range of people, not just Collapsedone and Hong Ji Sang, who I think are in-house songwriters in JYP.
  14. It's a bummer that FTISLAND hasn't gotten any awards this year (though I should be used to it now). BUT I'm really happy Hongki's BFF Heechul and Kyunghoon got the MMA for best rock song.
  15. This show just keeps getting better. I got into it for Hongki but it's safe to say I'll watch it even if he leaves it (which I don't want to happen). Hongki dancing in episode 17 was the highlight of the episode for me and BoA isprobably my favourite guest so far. And as someone mentioned earlier: Hongki should stop bringing his limited edition shoes. He should just sacrifice his least favourite ones since he really has no luck with that particular game
  16. I don't get how most SM artists even have the energy to stand upright with their schedules... And now Vic has had emergency surgery? Does anyone know what it was/is? Let the woman rest for fucks sake. HOW do they let it get this bad? Things like this don't usually happen over night, do they?
  17. While Woohee and Serri do their amazing thing on The Unit I need another Subin comeback. It's been months and I still have Circle's Dream on repeat. I'm relatively new to Dal Shabet and I haven't had time to look for their variety show appearances and such (real life has gotten in the way)... Does anyone have any recommendations?
  18. Hongki's gotten his boils treated so that's good. Also, the Soompi article referred to FNC as "Hongki's company", Director Hong indeed I'm so looking forward to his new drama and the reunion with Lee Seunggi. I seriously hope he does at least one OST for the drama. And Jaejin is gonna be the death of me in his new drama. He'll play a former idol who had to leave his group after causing trouble... Anyone wanna bet he'll drag Hongki in some interview if he's asked who inspired him for the role?
  19. I'm just happy they all have something to do now... Hopefully SM does them justice with the comeback if when it comes. Let's hope for them to have one earlier than summer and maybe a re-package? I need more of their awesome b-sides
  20. Luna has anoter album planned? I'm gonna die. Her solo debut was amazing (and unforgivably slept on). I guess the time of their album would also depend on Ambers film in the U.S.? If she has any promotional activities planned for it that is. So... maybe (if we're lucky) they'll have a summer comeback?
  21. Considering I loved the creepiness of Stalker I'm sure I'm gonna love Where U At? It's great to have some darker concepts from new girl groups among all the cotton candy and fluff that's been popular lately (not that there's anything wrong with it, just not my thing) From the teaser I got some VIXX vibes mixed with Dreamcatcher.
  22. Oh dear... that's even worse.I've been looking forward to it so much too. I hope she get's to promote in Korea... assuming she wants to. I heard a rumour that F(x) was slotted for the comeback that Red Velvet just had but I'm really skeptic about that. The THAAD-issue has had some pretty lasting effects on entertainment.
  23. I re-watched some of Victoria's flexible moments on variety shows yesterday and it made me miss old variety shows so much, and F(x) of course. So... does anyone have a date for Victoria's solo? wasn't the first teaser dropped like 2 months ago?
